If you were able to make a masterclass affordable to university students, I‘d be happy to pay. Like a longer tutorial with multiple songs. Super cool you‘re uploading for free! Thank you 🙏🏼
Good job!! Teaching is boring, learning is hard. As a new guitar learning, my suggestions for you is to break the lesson by part. Tell the string and where to press it, how many times we need to hit it etc. Once you cover that part, go back and play it slowly without worrying about the time. Then you move to the next part. With this, I think you will reach much more people who is starting off.
On the right hand technique you look really as subtle as Mark playing. I hear many over the internet claim that he his slapping the strings with the nails, but it really does not look like that. If I got your explanation right, you are just suddenly muting the strings with the right hand or finger tips to produce the dry sound, right? Almost like a stopped down stroke, is it? Maybe you could elaborate more on that in future videos. Thanks!
Which one do you mean? The D's with the first finger at the 7th fret are based on the '3rd in the bass' voicing (f#, a, d, f#, played on the inner four strings, the f# bass note at the 9th fret / a string sometimes left out)
Excellent lesson. Mark only uses the thumb, index and middle finger, and his thumb gets a real work out doing plenty of upstrokes to keep the bass going. There is so much country influence in his playing which is a big part of what makes him unique in the world of rock but also among his peers in Britain. Yes, Clapton got a little country in the early 70s, but not like Mark. Nice tone as well, BTW. Perfect for this sort of playing.
I just encountered your video(s) Ingo, worth to try again on guitar. I do play keys with singing, see my channel... Will try guitar again soon. Thanks for inspiring! Best regards from The Netherlands. And... you have a new subscriber ;-)
