I came upon a good sized Beni shichi henge unexpectedly. I’m so happy I purchased it. It spent the summer in a small pot, it was so top heavy the poor thing went through a lot of mishaps including accidentally getting crushed in my car door. 😑 I’m amazed how resilient that tree is. It looks so fragile but it’s been fine in direct summer sun. I finally got it planted last fall. It’s a beautiful ever changing tree. The bark on mine is like a coral bark. It’s been beautiful throughout the winter. It’s about 5+’ & im in zone 7 inland NW. Mr Maple uses the leaf as their logo, it was momma maple’s favorite Japanese Maple. ☺️
You are right about the colors this year in each maple. Are weird at this moth in June where normally most of them turn to the green tonality or dark red. Well in my collection happened the same, it showing colors of early autumn and end of spring which are awesome to watch daily. It’s about climate change. Nice collection you have and very big!
