I already have a 1983 schecter dream machine candy red very very very similar to the mark knoflers schecter dream machine that he played in the early 80s.
Hi..Im looking for the scheckter picups Blackmore was using in the early 80s..I think it was a calld 500 something with big polepices..looks like todays Ducan quater pounder ssl4..Can you guys help me to find thouse orgininal he was using back then ?
He used Schecter F500T pickups, the T meaning they were tapped. As far as I know his neck pickup was used in the tapped configuration while the bridge pickup started off tapped but got wired for full output some time later. He also used a dummy coil to cancel out hum, wound to the tapped spec. There are some new copies out there, including the SD SSL-4t Quarter Pounders you mentioned, as well as some by Q_Pickups on EBay. If you want to know something more, feel free to ask and I'll answer within my ability.
freaking awesome ...he mentioned vandzant pickups!!!!..were in the same county ...I called Mrs vandzant a couple weeks asking about cross wound soap box for a project ...then I bought my first shecter ....beautiful owmen 6 ...I'm really thinking on goldtoping it with cream soap box vandzants
Gonna put some great alternatives to the standard replacements that are out there now. exciting time for pick ups right now lots of great brands out there on the market. if these are as good as the Dean DMT pickups , which are unbelievably awesome, we got another great affordable choice in the USA. Kick ass!

Lindy Fralin pickups are amazing. I didn't know Schecter used them. Awesome.
