    A new initiative co-organized by the School of Art, Media, and Technology and the fine arts program at Parsons, this lecture series captures the increasingly transdisciplinary nature of scientific, academic, artistic, and cultural practices and focuses on the complex settings for art's production in contemporary life.

    Nigerian-born Okwui Enwezor is a highly respected curator and art historian. He was the artistic director of the documenta 11 exhibition in Kassel, Germany (1998--2002); the second Johannesburg Biennale (1996--1997); and the seventh Gwang-ju Biennale in South Korea (2008). He has curated numerous exhibitions in distinguished museums around the world, including Archive Fever: Uses of the Document in Contemporary Art at the International Center of Photography in New York; and The Short Century: Independence and Liberation Movements in Africa, 1945--1994 at the Museum Villa Stuck in Munich, the Gropius Bau in Berlin, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and the Museum of Modern Art and MoMA PS1 in New York.
