Bravo my good man! Can't say that I've had a chance to give this a go just yet, but I will say that I've been fussing with this damn top trying to get it to work properly for well over a year and no luck. This video has already shown me more about the top Operation then anything else I've come across so far. Thanks for the vid, big help!!!
Thank you for your kind words. Please note - There one sensor located above each sun visor, above the windscreen and these work in opposite directions (one opens when the other closes) also, sensors above the "B" post. ALL these can be accessed by releasing the roof at the front (using the allen key) and the front of the roof lifted (two people as its heavy) for testing.
11:00 not 100% sure but those wire connectors look like the kind you hit with a heat gun and they have solder in the middle. If used properly those are really good connectors. As long as any added wires are the right gauge and the solder gets melted properly. Out of curiosity, how do you recommend connecting wires like that? What is the "proper" way? I'm just curious because I work on small electronics, not cars, so I am just wondering the proper way to do it. Every time I do mess with a car there's electric tape all over the place lol.
I have a 2012 audi s5 convertible and the radio, convertible top, and driver seat are all having problems. As you said about he water leak, I feel like that has something to do with it. What do you think? Any correlation between these 3 things?
On LHD sensor is on left side. But it can be sensor on roof code f202. So those two are one tonwach. Oh and you can relise pressure by keys out and press down swith for 10 sec.
amazing video, thanks a lot! Quick question, do you know what these sensors are called please, specifically the one you have shown in your video that detects when the storage box has been lowered. I'm getting a "soft top storage box not lowered, remove obstacles" error, even though the storage box is/has lowered
Hello good video. My roof works to open but when i close it wont. It closes front and back wont go up to let the liftgate go down. Any idea? I fixed a broken wire on the pass side arm but nothing changed
I ended up changing the switch/sensor under the quarter panel trim panel on passenger side. Same as video shows. Works flawlessly. Trim is simple to remove if u have a little car knowledge. I went to junkyard and got a switch out of an junked a5 and learned the removal processes there. Wasn't bad at all. Get the sensor and slap it in. The wires to switch on the arm on passenger side top also were stripped and I spliced in new sensor but that didn't fix the issue. Inside quarter sensor did!. Thanks for the video.
I got a5 , but I have no electric reaching to the passenger rear window motor or whole side you can say and it not going down . Any idea what it could be , motor is fine
You need a good wiring diagram. Check fuses, positive power feed and negative grounds to trace the fault. Scan car for codes to obtain a diagnosis plan.
Does, anyone have a recommendation for best software or diagnostic tool to use as a DIY to show the states of the switches? As in the video? Greatly appreciate any help finding that.
The best video I've seen good job gents

Launch pad 7 was the scanner used in the video.
So what did you actually replace? My roof randomly stopped working. Would it be a fuse?
@@1986mrclement Use a diagnostic machine to identify the cause, otherwise you'll just be guessing!
Mine gets to coosing and as the rear window is coming down it stops.
I need your help
Good video
