What a beautiful finish. I love the effect of the bronzing what did you use. It's inspired me to try the burning and bronzing on the urn I plan to make for my own ashes. Keep up the magnificent work.
Why did you take a blank cut to have a nice live edge, and turn it upside down and turn off the live edge? The finished piece looks nice. But you didn’t need a live edged blank to do this….
Nice work. I was cringing when you were using your scraper though. You should put the handle under you forearm , and the same hand over the top of the scraper. More control and much safer.

What are you saying can only be done on ash? Sho sugi ban can be done on nearly any wood species. And the embellishment wax can be done on any open grain wood like white oak, and even tight grain wood like sycamore and Maple.
You are right. Some of these posters like to over embellish their descriptions to get attention. I have used this technique on red oak, white oak and even fir, pine and red cedar.
Hey Henry, that is a nice bowl you made.
Yes, ash wood is a beautiful wood to work with, and I have also made a number of projects with it.
Le ha quedado genial, gracias por el vídeo.
Beautiful job

nice touch the inside burn
Thanks 👍
Henry: what was the paste that you used on the scorched side? Beautiful work! Thanks Ron
Thanks! That was a gold embellishing wax, lots of fun to work with - however it only works on open-grained woods such as ash or oak
nice job -- looks good
Burning the inside really makes this bowl pop. Great job.
Works with any open grained woods
Muy bueno!
Hi there I'm new to this and going to give it a go how dry is the timber your using please
Beuteful bowl. Shou sugi ban is a great art form for Turner's done extremely well. New subscriber I will be following your channel from now on .
Looks amazing.

Much appreciated :)

Nice work and interesting process. Full View and Like 👍
Thank you :)

Thanks 🙏 I have recently changed how I do this to exactly what you’ve suggested - safety first!
Or have your right hand on the butt of the scraper (bowl gouge). A much greater level of accuracy (finesse) as well as more leverage.
What species of ash is it? Looks nothing like the ash in my neck of the woods
May i ask what kind of lathe you're using? Or what do you suggest? I'd like to try some of these projects.
I use a lathe from Axminster Tools and it works a treat! The exact model is in the description :)
I have got the Axminster 406 it a fantastic lathe.

bought 2 bags does not work!!
Say what it is that you are doing. Don't tell lies to get views. Too many people do that, and that just sucks.
Thumbs Down.
