Yeeeees! Somehow this video slipped past me. Glad I found it! Mercs are probably my weakest part of the game. I just send things I normally leak to. Which is not a great strategy, in fact it is not strategy at all. I have to memorize all the damages to various armor types, and then memorize all the merc attack and armors. It is not something I am going to pick up over night as I am in no mood to mnemonics the crap out of it :P EDIT: Yeeees, the guide for the armor types and all that. 100% want that kind of in depth stuff. Of course I could study up on my own over time and learn it that way, but Doof showing examples and stuff is just better. That Dino vs Dino+Snail was frankly mind blowing. I wonder how many times I have done that and cost myself a juice enemy leak.
Great video. Im looking forward to the video on attack and defense types. It will help a lot with which sends are best and on what wave people should send.
Love the vid! One specific question i have is on the 'Overwhelm Strat' defined for waves 14,16 etc. I see the imps + pack mole, and I'm curious as to why there was no hermit talked about. The hermit seems like easy value (especially against the Pota Mask example outlined) It would keep things alive and bring more value to anything you do leak because they heal up on route.
Appreciate the video. One thing I'd like is effectiveness vs ranged and melee dps units. Like if their DPS is Sov, compared to Doomsday...both impact, whats the merc difference on the send? Also, just a breakdown of good mercs vs armor types.
Questions for me and the algorithm: 1) How to best counter Pyro spam? As soon as there are many, Hermit doesnt help.. 2) How to best counter Angler/Steeds in late game? Early game snails are pretty good, but Four-Eyes dont seem to be the best choice later on...

I don't get the part where you say you receive income late when upping King vs sending, with both you only get income on the next wave, from what I've seen. You don't just get 6 gold right away when sending, you bump your income for the next wave, just like when upping king
so youd get the additional gold after the wave ends wave 2 is happening you hit snail income = +6 wave 3 building phase you get that 6 gold or wave 3 building phase hit king up no 6 gold until wave 4 building phase

during the wave, if you send a merc you will gain that gold as soon as the wave ends, but if you wait to king up you will lose that immediate gold
so youd get the additional gold after the wave ends
wave 2 is happening you hit snail income = +6
wave 3 building phase you get that 6 gold
or
wave 3 building phase hit king up no 6 gold until wave 4 building phase
