The British Should have never gave Hong Kong to China, now China has it and the people are only suffering because of it. It should have stayed British or have been given to America so a stronger country would have it and ensure that China wouldn't get it.

So by giving Hong Kong or New Territory to Republic of China, UK are not violating the treaty. Another way is to return New Territory to Qing China, which doesn't exist, meaning the New Territory of Hong Kong will effectively become independent, while UK could either retain the control of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon or give that to Qing China. Retaining part of Hong Kong is not a bad idea, as this will allow UK to protect 'Qing China'. There could be an agreement between Qing China and British Hong Kong that allows the free flow of goods and people.

The then UK president and the then-Communist Leader agreed on HK maintaining separate govt and democratic ideas which is why HK is fighting the HK government and revolting the CCP trying to make HK **actually** a part of China under the Chinese govt. It also does not make sense for a predominantly white country to be owning a predominantly Asian country and it's like idk 500+ miles away. U.S annexing Hawaii and Alaska and few other territories make sense because it's all somewhat in a small proximity.

1.反送中原因
香港人目的從此至今的根本目的不是要弄甚麼獨立或分裂。
1.1喜歡香港些什麼
我們喜歡的是香港這片土地的地理文化、生活社會，並不是政權、政府和政黨，只是他們掌控了這片土地的一切。無論是中國政府還是英國政府也是一樣。
1.2失去了些什麼
我們只想讓香港政府撤銷那離譜侵犯了基本言論自由的23條例、 之後的國安法， 令我們失去那個可以互相尊重、對方立場、不人身攻擊、可以發表自己的政治立場的，言論自由的香港。 失去了自由的香港還間接影響生活環境、經濟和教育。
因此我們不應該想有自由可以得到些什麼，而是沒有了自由會失去些什麼才對。
1.3所發生的事
一開始一直也是用和平的方式集會希望撤銷該條損害自由的法律。最多的一次全港有七百萬人，共有二百萬人也參加了這全集會，在區議會選舉中民主派也是用正當的手法參選想推返立法會去表示抗議，但竟遭受到香港警察的暴力、 催淚彈對待，因此很多人也很快放棄集會。民主派的區議員們立刻也受到政治壓迫，後來也受到國安法莫須有的制裁。
我們只爭取回失去的，但如政權不聽人們的聲音(獨裁)人們會自然也會不惜一切反抗呀，因為我們不是奴隸。
也因此之後慢慢就出現了很多激進人想和警察對抗，雖然激進人士確實一定有錯，但是為了民主自由，想必除了暴力在沒有外界支援的情況下就別無他發了面對政府的力量。
只是想必那時香港人只是心想我們為了香港的民主自由社會變回英屬時的東方之珠想用盡一切的方法。如果政府不改變的話，為了自由不論是回到英屬，還是獨立這種激進的方法也所不息吧
