Hey Kenji! I watched all your videos on CV, networking, internships, financial modelling and I got offers from a hedge fund and private equity firm! Thank you so much for the high quality content you put out. You are quite literally inspiring change for young uni students like myself :) Keep up the fantastic vids, Kenji!
That’s awesome to hear Davin! Thank you for leaving the comment. Congratulations on your offers and best of luck 👏👏👏
Hey Kenji, this was a great video for those of us currently applying for internships! Your background is inspiring.
Glad it was helpful!
This is a fantastic presentation! Encore, please.
Your videos always encourage and helps to improve. Thank you!
Very impressive how you structured your approach and „worked your way up“
Awesome career path! Cool take on how you created value from your freshman year internship!
Thank you 😊
Really insightful!! Also keen for a part 2 on how you got the internships
Cheers!
It's really helpful. Thank you Kenji!
Glad it was helpful!
Hey, Kenji. Thanks for the video, very inspiring regardless to say. I’m just wondering could you please do us a favor and create a video about Big 4 companies and rank them (with your honest ideas)? It will be very helpful to us who want to work in these companies. Thanks in advance btw.
Your Goldman resume template helped me so much. Got so many ib interviews and I accepted an offer for a great internship with BNP paribas in CIB/securities services. Thank you
How did it go?
Your videos (and resume template) have helped me get a full-time offer with PwC. My hard work and expertise were most of it of course, but I really believe some of the information that you've given on your channel helped give me that extra edge. Thank you for all the great info and keep up the great work!
Awesome to hear Grayson congratulations!! Thanks for the comment man means a lot 😁 Hope you enjoy the role at PwC 👊
I think a good video for you to do is on interview prep and what to expect. And given your diverse background, I feel you can touch on various different processes.
Noted, thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks for this video 🙏🏾
Glad you liked it!
Hey Kenji, awesome video! Can you make an official video a day in the life at Amazon? Also, would be great to hear your opinion about the company and your plans for the future (career-wise).
wow definitely checking trends out
Nice!
He has the TimTheTatman closing song lol. Thanks Kenji, I really appreciate your content! I am from an extremely non target school so this is insightful. Thanks again brother!
Awesome! Thank you!
You in that empty plane was a pure comedy man 🤣🤣🤣. Thank you.
hahaha glad you appreciate it lol!
Looks older than 22
Sounds very intelligent 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Please make a video on roadmap to financial career after engineering / STEM background
Wow!.
I applied for 13 different companies for internship.
And got rejected by all😅
From Pwc Audit to GS Analyst is a huge step!!! Probably only possible with a 4.0 GPA.
I am at a Big4 audit Intership rn
That's interesting, there were actually a good number of people that had done big4 in second year and went to a bulge bracket IB third year. Best of luck with your internship!
Does the GPA in MIS program matter when looking for internships and jobs ? Or one just needs to graduate with whatever decent or average score they get ? On what grounds does hiring managers short list resumes before interviewing ?
I am a Mechanical engg. and want to pursue a career in finance…is starting as a Analyst a good option for internship?
sorry im new to your channel, may i ask what undergrad degree did you do exactly?
👏👏👏👏
2:28 nice sum up btw, did you change university just because of the name, that gets you into those internships ?
It was a mix of better career aspirations and wanting more competitive/interesting academics
Funny. In Brazil, internships are like part time jobs, they can last up to a couple of years, 4 to 6 hours a day. We don't have summer internships.
Have you ever studied full time while on an internship? Do you recommend it if you’re graduating soon and don’t have any internships?
I worked as a teaching assistant at Cornell while I was a student but it wasn't a full time job so I can't say. Also some universities are more open to accommodate work + studies while others are not so it depends. Overall, it's good to have some internship experience before you graduate (just makes you more competitive)
Amazing video as always. I just wanted to ask how do I get internships at the top companies if I'm not from an ivey league school. I'm starting my university and it isn't in the top universities in Canada. I don't think I'll be able to transfer because the tuition is too high for the top universities. What do you suggest I do to make it to the top kenji?
It's tricky as most companies want top university graduates. The easiest way is probably networking and getting to know the right people.
make your resume beautiful and organized. go see your university career services office (dont pay a dime for resume help)..and then apply. As a career advisor at a school you most likely have never heard of, people get great internship offers all the time...assuming the timing is today, if you want big 4, apply now for summer 2023. and all your questions could be answered on google , its free.
@@ph5391 thank you so much for the info🙏
@@KenjiExplains yes, my plan is to make connections with other top university students in case competitions and go on from there
@@iliyan0100 dont be a square and overthink it too much...if you read too many other peoples advice it will only intimate you...go for gold, send some apps, and have fun...good luck
Where are you currently working?
What university did you go to you at before Cornell?
American University of Paris
Cool. Can you do a breakdown of exactly how much you got paid as a summer analyst? That’d be cool.
How was that an internship?
too many folks in these comments with the "they only hire from top university's"...believe that if you wish, or just apply, network, and crush the interview. accept the job offer 4 weeks from now...or keep complaining...all these orgs got thousands of openings...go get one...
Which company are you working for now?
Went to Amazon after university
@@KenjiExplains Interesting! What position?
You are too handsome guy!
Are you a U.S. citizen?
nope
You speak Portuguese?
no spanish
