Be careful, maybe they designed the exhaust pipe that way to avoid excess heat being transfered to the transfer case through radiation and convection because of the proximity, I know that somewhat similar problem has occurred in some old land cruiser and lexus lx 470 models that caused some issues with the lubrication of the f drive shaft, unless you found a way to reroute the pipe without bringing it closer to the t c or the shaft. You should at least inspect this probability, and be safe.
I think it's called dirty deeds fab or something, but they do a traditional equal length nascar style y pipe behind the transfercase. A design like that should work wonders as the exhaust heat will be moved away from the electronics and oil case. The only stipulation I can see is that you are still using a two piece driveshaft...but if you are going so far as to use a 1 one piece I would guess trnasfercase work is also being done.
I am disappointed that you did not show the actual reroute mod being done.
That’s done by your local exhaust shop. Not much to really see besides chop, bend new pipe and weld.
When I ordered my b.a.m.f. steal skid trilogy I was forced to reroute my exhaust. Tacomaworld helped alot during this process
So U should be showing us the mod with the exhaust pipe. This helps no one unless we have done that first
Take it to your favorite exhaust shop. A couple hundred dollars and it’s easily done.
Hi, about you re relocate pipe exhaust, no problem with the plastic T case actuator, do you put some Exhaust Heater Wrap tape on the pipe.....
We did not but it couldn't hurt to add some
You should make a vid running the taco on the same place where you got stuff to show that the new skid made a difference...
We'll get to it!
Great looking truck
Thanks 👍

Not as much as heat as you’d think.
What happened to the Tundra???
How have those aluminum skids held up on the trail have you ran them into anything?
Tundra video?
Is this new skid also from rci?
Awesome!
