I have to say that the music this band plays makes my soul vibrate. I play it when I am driving. It evokes feelings and visions that are unreal. It puts you in a natural state of meditation, you can do nothing but listen and BE!!!
i have listened to just about everything ever written and played by these guys.. and they still remain the only band that can elicit every emotion from me. sometimes in just one or two songs. they have a true gift for what they do, it is sometimes more than music.
I can saw, without doubt, this is some of the best music I have ever heard in my life. Very interesting to see them perform live. Thanks so much for sharing.
I saw them live in Denton, TX a few years ago. I stood right in front of the speaker/amp. I no doubt suffered hearing loss that night - totally worth it.
Simply put...f'n ridiculously awesome! By far the greatest band ever, in my honest opinion. I can't wait to see these guys live again...back home in TX! If you've never seen them live...these video clips do no justice, and they are LOUD, so beware. ;) I'd say top five on my favorite live performances witnessed!
Saw them in concert last night at the congress theater in chicago, the most mind blowing experience ever, It was so amazing. they played this song and it was the most epic experience.
The most incredible, ambient music. I can see the sun rising, basking in the sky, then the day marching towards its' end with the falling sun behind the horizon, and the rising moon.
saw them the other night in boston. when it got to the searing lead line near the end they turned on all the lights in the theatre. I watched a few thousand people in complete bliss. Possibly the most alive I've ever felt.
i know man i love this music its perfect and doesnt need any vocalists it was just some thougt i had, dont pull me down eeeh i love explosions in the sky it moves me so much.
I would love to see these guys live. They communicate so much with virtually no words. And I tend to drawn to music more for the lyrics than anything...
Explosions in the Sky... Son increíblemente perfectos... La melodía y la armonía hechos alegría y melancolía. Esa es, quizás, la mejor descripción que puedo hacer de una música inexplicablemente bella para los oídos... Precioso :) Se lo recomiendo a todo el mundo!
It's been a while since I could listen to a band and simply enjoy the sound. As of late it's been about meanings and wordplay... intelligent lyrics... but none of them even come close to affecting me the way Explosions in the Sky does. Music that tingles from the surface of your skin to the butterflies in your stomach just deserves the time and attention.
I'm an ex junkie, an ex musician, and ex recording engineer...IMHo, there is nothing in this World that could touch being able to play this song live, to have that kinda of rush, that 6:31 minutes of giving people and yourself pure art, pure bliss...ENTS to me has touched me more than "The Doors", "Radiohead", "Pink Floyd", "The Pixies" etc...its great being alive and sober, but its even better listening to this...Ty, ty, sooo damn much!
Brilliant, just fab. These guys really are making proper real music. Enjoyed the video, thanks. Would have liked to have seen more of the drummer through it though as he should have been taking the stage. Much more interesting to see the drummer play than the guitarists.
If you know how it feels to play that guitar then this video is incredible!! The pace, the slow-motion guitar frequensis, it feels so GOOD! You guys are truly unique. Fucking space music man :')
Wow...I finished up playing with our band one night, exhausted and hammered and caught their Austin City Limits on PBS...being a guitar gear whore, I completely appreciate what these guys are doing...was in the mood for something like this and struggled to remember their name, got it now...gotta buy a few discs from them...Thanks for the post!
Hell YEAH!! Even though I have a final the next morning at 8a haha. And I'm going to their show on the 21st-- I even postponed my trip to Argentina to see them.
I think my favorite thing about this is how you can hear those little clips of reversed elay from Munaf just like you can on the album..Pure music in every shape and form.
The most beautiful music I've ever heard. I love songs that have so much emotion in them. These guys actually take music very seriously unlike most people now days... And they sound better live too. If somone does better live then recorded they're a very talented artist. The only other kind of music with this much emotion behind it is depressive black metal.
this was an orgasmic performance by this great band! I lisen to their music since years now, nearly every day, and still can't get enough of it.. They are amazing, they are the band of the century..! well..I just thought this might interest some of you..I found a band on youtube called "Nyctalgia" If you've got the time, listen to their song "Falling into nothingness". Imo, one of the best newcomer postrockbands this year..
it's astonishing what I felt during those six minutes and thirty one seconds... and out of all the songs they've made I've never heard one that I even only slightly disliked, a band such as this sparks my emotions, and I see exactly what the title depicts, it would be useless to go on saying this, there aren't really any words to describe how epic all this really is.
there was a concert in the city a couple days ago. i tried to plan this out since about february when i heard it was playing there. being in florida, unfortunately i missed it. i wanted to take a very good friend, but only being 16 and a good 850 miles away is a real heart breaker.
yeah that's a great way of putting it. they do have a unique style, that's for sure. pretty cool on my first few listens. seems like they were meant to play live, so that's cool too.
I agree with the top two comments. It's so cool to be able to play your fav songs. I encourage anybody to pick up a guitar and try to learn how to play it. Believe me, it's not as half hard as you think it is. The feeling you'll get while playing a x number of songs, not matter what tat number is, it will make the effort well worth it.. And yes, Post rock riffs are very easy to learn Peace.
i heard this band for the first time in the summer and have been hooked ever since!! If you like this check out an icelandic band called, For A Minor Reflection!!
I love how this album opens up with this song! You guys should check out Elevator Action from Lawrence, Kansas. They are alot like Explosions in the Sky
post rock is one of the most amazing things i know!!! i really love it, and bands like EITS, mogwai, sigur ros, mono, 65dos... they're all great bands that can make you feel so many different things, like a long travel in your mind :)
@birdhaldol stratocaster looks japan made. sometimes a tele? fender jazzmaster with humbuckers some kind of baritone guitar, i wanna say a danelectro but i have no idea. they use primarily fender tube amps from the 60s and 70s, electroharmonix big muff (russian made), boss digital delay (dunno what model) at least thats what i saw in atlanta last year
Gotta love This Will Destroy You. I havent heard of Red Sparrowes either, but will check them out. There's an epic ambient/instrumental band from Des Moines called The Autumn Project, i recommend those guys too. They're not on UA-cam but they have a website and myspace.
oh i now have come to see the light thanks to your brilliant idea. i was actually watching it muted before but now that im listening to it i changed my mind completely. /sarcasm
also, the more I listen the more I am digging explosions, but I still am craving just a little something more. imma have to check out an album and see how it flows. I hope I didn't turn anyone off from meddle cause I think it would be up yalls alley. its really a work of art how it flows so seamlessly from instrumentals to lyricals and back.
they are so ridiculously good live had to change my pants after their show just left me inspired. Seriously if their show comes around, you got to go and you'll see what i mean

I cried when I heard this song live in Houston...I woke up to my brother blasting that song the morning of the show...Pure Beauty...
I can saw, without doubt, this is some of the best music I have ever heard in my life. Very interesting to see them perform live. Thanks so much for sharing.
saw this song live yesterday!
it was amazing, it made me cry how beautiful it is and how they can express themselves in their music, magic....
Por que só agora eu fui conhecer vocês? É tudo o que eu sempre precisei ouvir. I love u guys. Greetings from Brazil.
The beginning is so simple but yet so perfect, an incredible opening to what then unfolds, which is bliss.
I saw them live in Denton, TX a few years ago. I stood right in front of the speaker/amp. I no doubt suffered hearing loss that night - totally worth it.

Their music is so beautiful it sends shivers down my spine....

this is fantastic...these guys make such good songs
This song makes me feel more fucking alive than anything I've ever experienced..I love this whole song but 5:12 is where my soul starts to tingle.
What a powerful sound... It reminds me Paris, they are so amazing! thanks for this video
i know man i love this music its perfect and doesnt need any vocalists it was just some thougt i had, dont pull me down eeeh
i love explosions in the sky it moves me so much.
great recording.
i love the multiple angles, and perfect quality.
thanks!

Precioso :)

my favorite song. thanks a lot for posting!

That beginning is one of the best things they've done, mind blowing!
I can't wait to see them in July as well!
i wish more bands did this kind of music really amazing
Brilliant, just fab. These guys really are making proper real music. Enjoyed the video, thanks. Would have liked to have seen more of the drummer through it though as he should have been taking the stage. Much more interesting to see the drummer play than the guitarists.

Almost made a tear come to my eye right at the start.. Just.. Damn.

Glad they let you document it. Buying their stuff right now bc. of vids like this on yt
this album "All I Sudden I Miss Everyone" is simply unbelievable, they are the best
I think my favorite thing about this is how you can hear those little clips of reversed elay from Munaf just like you can on the album..Pure music in every shape and form.
this is probably my favorite song!!!!!
I love that guitar part at 5:13. Part of the reason these guys are awesome.
listening to this song with the volume turned up all the way is like having a religious experience.
i love post.
My favourite song of them!
The most beautiful music I've ever heard. I love songs that have so much emotion in them. These guys actually take music very seriously unlike most people now days... And they sound better live too. If somone does better live then recorded they're a very talented artist. The only other kind of music with this much emotion behind it is depressive black metal.
I'm actually amazed how good this sounds live.
An awesomely clear, hopeful and as intense as a band can be.
this was an orgasmic performance by this great band! I lisen to their music since years now, nearly every day, and still can't get enough of it.. They are amazing, they are the band of the century..!
well..I just thought this might interest some of you..I found a band on youtube called "Nyctalgia"
If you've got the time, listen to their song "Falling into nothingness".
Imo, one of the best newcomer postrockbands this year..
Awesome Song!!!
This is bloody brilliant!
Oh thats right they played two shows, I went to the one the night before this one. Best show of my life :)
it's astonishing what I felt during those six minutes and thirty one seconds... and out of all the songs they've made I've never heard one that I even only slightly disliked, a band such as this sparks my emotions, and I see exactly what the title depicts, it would be useless to go on saying this, there aren't really any words to describe how epic all this really is.
You don't need to be high to enjoy this. This is the sound of life.
Beautiful. My only wish is that I'd come across this band sooner. I have much to catch up on.
there was a concert in the city a couple days ago. i tried to plan this out since about february when i heard it was playing there. being in florida, unfortunately i missed it. i wanted to take a very good friend, but only being 16 and a good 850 miles away is a real heart breaker.
amazing band.
yeah i was there... i honestly haven't been to a show that amazing in a long time.
yeah that's a great way of putting it. they do have a unique style, that's for sure. pretty cool on my first few listens. seems like they were meant to play live, so that's cool too.
great man. nothing to add. you said everything.
You guys are fabulous, come back in France otherwise i cross the ocean!
I agree with the top two comments. It's so cool to be able to play your fav songs. I encourage anybody to pick up a guitar and try to learn how to play it. God damn....this is my favorite song.
Ever.
@birdhaldol
stratocaster looks japan made. sometimes a tele?
fender jazzmaster with humbuckers
some kind of baritone guitar, i wanna say a danelectro but i have no idea.
they use primarily fender tube amps from the 60s and 70s, electroharmonix big muff (russian made), boss digital delay (dunno what model) at least thats what i saw in atlanta last year

Going to see them at the Barras next Sunday :) so psyched. And I agree with pseudocaveman.
oh i now have come to see the light thanks to your brilliant idea. i was actually watching it muted before but now that im listening to it i changed my mind completely.
/sarcasm
hell yeah.
i agree totally.
only i'm from the city - guess that proves how universal this is.
also, the more I listen the more I am digging explosions, but I still am craving just a little something more. imma have to check out an album and see how it flows.
Phenomenal group.
