Remembering putting this video on my Myspace page back in the day. I loved this performance then and I still love it now in 2022. Hope another soul finds this comment on a video that has slowly been forgotten by time...
Commenting 17 years later. The ending of greet death STILL gives me chills. Will never get sick of it. Seen these guys so many times. They never disappoint
Erick, my greatest friend from Juárez sent "Yazmin the Light" to me for the first time in a media player file, back in 2006, 18 years ago and, we are still friends, and we still both love Explosions in the Sky.
This will be my favorite band until the end of time. The music creates memories and feelings that nothing else could. Their music has gotten me through the best and toughest times of my life.
this is the BEST SONG EVER! it makes me cry, and reminds me of snowfall and watching sped up film of people in big cities and cars on the highway at night
Well, I guess you can always discover old songs from your favourite band. Thanks for posting this obscure gem of a live. Ps: for those wondering like me, the second track is called The Long Spring and is available on Spotify.
I love how patient they are with their song devolpment. They don't rush into anything. They let each idea play out naturally, and as a result, at all times you feel fulfilled listening to them. It's amazing. There are no boring parts, yet look how soft most of the song is. They are something else...
Yashin the light. Gets me every fucking time. I remember finding this around 2006 or 07. And was amazed my EX got me into them. And she's the only thing I see when I hear them. Fun fact I saw smashing pumpkins in 07 and didnt know who the opening band was. And when my dad found out and was saying " lights in the sky???" I just screamed in the car "Explosion in the sky?" And I was so happy to find out they were playing. What an awesome show they both were.
Crazy. As soon as the drums first came in on Yasmin the light I tasted orange trident gum in my mouth. We used to chew orange trident and listen to explosions when we took ecstasy when I was in high school over 15 years ago. 😂 Crazy how certain sounds can transport you back to such specific moments. This is magical music
Been listening to EitS for years now... and Yasmin the Light will forever be near the top of my favorite songs ever, just under First Breath After Coma...
This is my second or third time hearing of Explosions in the Sky, and even though I didn't know of them when I was younger, it makes me think back to the good times as a child. This song is truly wonderful!
just barly got into this band a couple of months ago. by far best instrumental band i have heard. one day when i see these guys i gonna make love all of them.
I feel the same way. All the years I have been listening to them and the feeling I get everytime I listen to any of their songs is nothing short of immaculate. I saw them friday night and it was the best show i've ever been to, my head just bobbed in unison with the music the entire night, they are so beautiful.
Explosions in the Sky is easily the most incredible thing I have ever listened too. They just deliver such incredible music. It all flows together so well man they get me hyped.
I wrote a comment here YEARS ago, maybe like 5 years ago, this was the first EITS song i've ever HEARD, and OMG, my life could not be complete without this band.
im so glad i found this band. if you have trouble sleeping at night just listen to them...ure mind will be soothed into the dream world in no time and you will sleep like a baby. its also good for driving late at night.
I see these guys yesterday in Glasgow, they are f****** awesome, they put so much energy into playing and they are so powerfull, they rocked the Barrowlands, Texas should be proud of these lads.
I saw them in Barcelona last November and felt in love with them despite not knowing a lot from there. Now Im gonna see them in May again and perhaps before in Bruxelles; one of the best live acts Ive ever seen...an awesome experience
i've only recently gotten into EITS (maybe about 2 yrs ago) but i absolutely love them. their music just makes me sit back and close my eyes and really LISTEN. it really pulls at your different emotions. i'd love to see them live someday.
Thats the point of this music, that no matter what is going on in your life you can connect this music to whatever.. Without words its leaves the meaning of the song up to you, So if it reminds you of your girlfriend, a death that was close to you, or it can make you feel closer to god... Thats why they are my favorite band, They have absolutely everything to do with making beautiful music, and nothing to do with any message or agenda. just listen and enjoy. :)
Totally agree with you and know what you mean. Deep down, Yasmin the Light is filled pure beauty. If I'm in the right mood, I could almost shed a tear.
Wow, these are three of the least heard songs it seem yet have already became 3 of my favourite, This is easily the best set of any music i have ever seen. 3 truely brilliant songs.
beautiful. i'll give you more of a hand than the people watching this show did. lovely stuff. gotta love watching the guitarists and the drummer's hands playing on beat... good stuff
Great music, great atmosphere...and to think that i found this accidentaly :))) Great to see that there are still people with "old" mindz who appreciate actual Music!!
this band never ceases to amaze me, every time i listen to them , i get constant chills and tears of insight and enlightenment are brought to my eyes, fuckin amazing! you are by far my favorite band of all time, and i am very musically inclined. thank you i fuckin love you guys!
So perfect... this music provides some sort of strange harmony and tranquility deep inside of my brain, somehow all chaos turns into order (or at least it gives that illusion)
I with you man. I honestly think these guys are finally be recognized by more and more people through out 2007 and 2009. Any one going to their LA show?
Probably one of the best examples of a band who really sees the purpose of music and execute it to perfection. They aren't very well versed in music theory and they aren't very good technical musicians (even they admit that), but I've seen very few bands who put as much raw energy, heart and soul into their music. It really shows in the final result (which usually consist of a string of brilliant ideas).
Yasmin the Light is the most amazing beautiful song I have ever heard. I almost cry everytime I hear it. It is so so fucking great!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BAND!!!
Wow, damn, This was the first thing i've ever heard from EINTS, about 3 years ago, i can't believe i've been listening to them so passionately since then.
I just watched them live. It is a transcendental experience. I am glad I had the chance to finally hear them live. Thank you.

Erick, my greatest friend from Juárez sent "Yazmin the Light" to me for the first time in a media player file, back in 2006, 18 years ago and, we are still friends, and we still both love Explosions in the Sky.
This was my first exposure to Explosions and is still (IMHO) the bar for Yasmin the Light. I'm so glad my buddy sent me this link 15 years ago!
I'm downloading this just in case youtube deletes it or something. I must save this for future generations
Agerian Thank you
Still up, and available for viewing for kids like me who are big explosions in the sky fans.
Still here. 🙏 This should be preserved by the US Library of Congress as a vital cultural artifact.
😂😂🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾
Some of the best to ever do it. Their earlier material is untouchable.
Explosions in the Sky is living proof that you don't need words to feel great emotion during a song...
they're amazing...
last time i saw this video i didn’t think it was pixelated. time has flown, i used to watch this video often.
I really like the drummer's style. He knows how to complement the band well.
One of the goats
imagine uploading 21mins long vid in 2006
yes
every strum, every chord simply tugs at my heart. words could never compare to the way this band has made me felt.
Absolutely incredible seeing this snapshot in time of these early years.
Well, I guess you can always discover old songs from your favourite band. Thanks for posting this obscure gem of a live.

stumbling upon this 12 years ago and this video still speaks to me
I remember downloading this video off of that unofficial fanpage back in like, I want to say 2004. I'm so so glad I've stumbled upon it again
The most outstanding Rock band for me in the world
I love how patient they are with their song devolpment. They don't rush into anything. They let each idea play out naturally, and as a result, at all times you feel fulfilled listening to them. there is more feeling and emotion in this music than any other i have heard, and there is no words. that is a truly amazing thing to do.

It always impress me how they can express feelings without a word. By far the best rock band i've heard in years.
Saw them for the 1st time recently on Austin City Limits. Blew me away! I love it when every once in awhile I just fall in love with a band!

In Spain we love them too, this music really needs to be spread all around the world.
Very rare footage and cool performance. I would of die to see EITS in a small space before they gained their success by packing out venues.
amazing, once more to the afterlife is one of the best songs by explosions i'd say
Explosions in the Sky is easily the most incredible thing I have ever listened too. They just deliver such incredible music. It all flows together so well

These guys are just too good for words. I still can't believe I only paid $13 to see them live! I would pay 10 times that much if I had to.
