- From Max:
"You elected me to fight for a transformative vision for the future, one where no one is left behind and everyone has the things they need to live a good life. A future where politics works for everyday people, not for big corporations and the fossil fuel industry. Over the next three years I’ll be taking that fight to Canberra and this speech will be my first opportunity to lay out our vision.
I wouldn’t be here without our incredible movement of volunteers and supporters all over Griffith, and I’ll love to have you watching on as I give my first speech in the House of Reps."

This was like hearing my own inner monologue about Australian politics expressed out loud directly to parliament! Very impressed by the calibre of young Greens leaders coming up, it's a good sign.
and this is the thing about Max, he has this passion and enthusiasm when you meet him one on one at your doorstep like I did, or in front of the whole country. This is why he won
Well said Max! Exciting to see such an articulate and passionate first speech. I’m about to get my citizenship, so that will be one more vote for you in Griffith at the next election 👍
CALL THEM OUT !!!! I love the passion you displayed in your speech! This is the voice we need! ABSOLUTE SLAY MAX 💅 LOVE U
Fabulous Senator Barbara. So wonderful to see and hear you - and you and the team are already making wonderful difference. Congratulations
You Greens are the next level of onto-it and awesome 👍🏼💥💚
Got my vote
Great speech a shame the people who needed to hear it most and shamed were not there
We need more people like you representing the all Australians
What a sexy legend. He's been a huge inspiration to me.
Brilliant.
In the Senate, everyone lined up to personally congratulate David Pokock. A shame the same courtesy wasn't afforded to Reps in the House. The LNP didn't even bother turning up, nor did most of the ALP. Pretty rude I'd say.
Brilliant!!!!
Why is the chamber empty, I don’t understand this childish institution
Holy heck, I think I'm in love 👏💚
Great speech… 🥰
Great speech and very powerful.
Brilliant speech!! 💚🌱
Thank you for speaking truth to power 💚
Love your work mate!
Max, you won't last long. Terri Butler did exactly what your doing. Nothing local for Griffith. Instead concentrating on everything else. Bye bye Max.
Fantastic, eloquent speech. Max, you are magnificent 😁
Congratulations Max - calling government (i.e. the ALP and the Coalition) to account for their failings, their bias towards the rich and powerful, and neglect of ordinary Australians. I pray that the Greens can make a real difference this time around.
Smashed it, well done!
Slay.

Instead of the bare minimum, we get you!
if you repeat bits of his words will glee they are taken down on the greens own site
This speech shows that he is incredibly passionate, however he is also incredibly naive on a range of issues.
What they are really interested are paying their donors.
People have had extraordinary low expectations for politics. But not Max.
b ann?????
ew rent control
As a Griffith voter, this an example what I dislike people like Max C-M so much. Potshots from the cheap seats with no prospect of actually making a difference
What does this even mean?
Re-read your statement before posting, this is jibberish.
Blah blah blah. Reds dressed as greens.
Which of the things max proposes do you think are bad?
How much did the Australian taxpayer spend educating the commenters here? It was an absolute waste of money, they are dangerously stupid.
