MSQC, you are just the right people to join with the Kansas City Star to bring back the old blocks of the month. A joint effort retrospective to save the history would be fabulous for today’s crazy world. Please give it consideration. And, Jenny, you are just the one to bring back the life of those projects along with the blocks.

When you said , all are brains think different, not many people get that... You must of had a child that maybe had a learning disability.... Well I'm one of those kids..but now 62 years old ,I'm still one of those kids.... My mind sees things differently, I think the way to teach is so understanding.
Thank you. You are the one I wake up to to see your deal of the day. You are the one that I search for the next quilt I hope to make. In the day I think I check out your website more then anyone.Jenny you are the one I started to watch 9 months ago. Your way of teaching is awesome... Thank you again.

Ginger Paxman! You nailed it. I watched it while my sister and I texted. We're both doing the block of the month. I told sis that I felt like I was sitting across the table from her and getting a private lesson. So intimate! My first thought when I read the pattern was "Jenny doesn't usually waste that much fabric from a five inch square." I wasn't surprised when she had us make four half square triangles instead of just one! This is going to be so fun.

  • @trisheagle3083
    @trisheagle3083 4 роки тому +9

First off-I absolutely love Jenny. I learned to sew when I was very young but lost touch with it. Now that I am well into my 30s and starting to pick it up again, Jenny is the best at helping me refresh my own memory and learning new techniques. Thank you "sew" much Jenny for the wonderfully delightful videos.TIP: to save on fabric, instead of just cutting a 5 inch block down to a 3 inch block and wasting or scraping what was cut off, you can also create the 3 inch background squares the same way you created the half square triangles. Cut & sew 2 pieces of your 5 inch background squares together the same way as the half square triangles and trim accordingly. Now this tip only saves fabric not time. :)

I'm 52. Started quilting with a neighbor when I turned 50 and realized I didn't have a hobby. I always loved quilts and sewing things so naturally now I love to see quilts! Easy to follow format. And we can see that the block can be made in less than an hour. Love the personal studio, and window too. 😊 I would live to know how Jenny stores all her tools....and rulers. A tour would be great! Thank so much for being such an inspiration and so fun to watch.

Really enjoyed this and totally get the orientation and angles issue. Me TOO! I am almost done piecing my first quilt from your tutorial "Hidden Hearts." I joined our church group about 3 years ago to hand quilt. Our circle is very small due to so many "aging out." Those left are in their 70s, 80s and 90s. I am the youngest (61) and am now putting the quilts up in frames and marking quilts, something I had NEVER done before. So now piecing is my new challenge. I LOVE your tutorials and really feel I can do most of them - even with my sewing challenges. I have never been the greatest seamstress. But in one video you mentioned that it is just a lot of practice. So I took that advice to heart and with practice and a lot of seam ripping, I am slowly getting one top near finished. Sure glad I found your videos!!

I was fascinated as it reminded me of a blanket my siblings and I used to fight over as little kids that our own grandmother had made. We had no clue it was a quilt. We just knew it was so soft, warm and comfy.

Jenny, thank you for this tutorial, laughs and giggles. It was wonderful to spend the time with you today. I’ve been quilting 1.5 years so still a “newbie”. I really had a great time and love your enthusiasm and happiness you spread to your friends. I can’t wait to watch the next video. I love spending time with you, Natalie and Misty. You all are amazing! 🌸💖💖💖🌸

This reminds me of the first and original tutorials you used to make. I really love the personal touch and the fact that you walk us through each step just like you used to do. I fell in love with quilting watching Eleanor Burns but I LEARNED to quilt watching Jenny Doan.

Last night I was sewing on my quilt, I am doing the prairie flower, I was having so much fun, I didn't realize I had been sewing the entire night long and I like the idea wear you said to roll our shoulders a bit because when I got up from the machine I was hurting so bad, I had to take aspirin. lol I can hardly wait to finish the quilt to send you a photo as I got the pattern from you.

I love this format!! Wonderful to see how the whole block comes together and especially great for less experienced quilters. Thank you for doing this!

Jenny- I so enjoyed this video! Ive only been quilting for two years, so I have a lot to learn. I attempted HST before I was ready for them, when I first started out. The results were not the best. After watching this video I think I'm ready to try again. I'll be saving the upcoming tutorials and using fabric from my already large MSQC stash to develop my skills for each block. Thank you again. This was fun. Hopefully next year you'll do another block of the month project and I can join the club then, after I use up some of my current fabric stash.

Jenny, I too am angled challenged. When we’re traveling and using a map, I rotate the whole map when we make a left or right turn! Lol!

When I did mine, I used what I had at hand. I did stack the parts of the stars and went down the stack. I got them finished in record time. The colors don't match yours but I love them. All 4 stars done and done.

It was really a little bit like sewing time with friends. I enjoyed watching you doing all the steps instead of just showing short tutorials (don't get me wrong. I love them, too, when I want to learn new technics). Thank you so much for the first block.
    Lots of greetings from Germany

I like the format with you doing the whole process. It is how most of us sew at home, not with someone else trimming and pressing. I wish I had these tutorials when I was a beginner, but I still learn so much from you, thank you🥰

I'm so glad you told us the name of your machine because I was wondering and straining my eyes to try and catch the name . Lol I love your way of teaching Jenny because I can learn so much from you. I don't understand some of the other quilters way of teaching but I always get what your saying . Love you so , so much !! I watch all your tutorials over and over just for fun. Soon I will be able to quilt again. Thank you so much .❤❤❤

Thank you so much for including a low waste way to construct the half-square-triangles. I've already ordered background fabric
so I can finish the other three stars from this month's block. Got a late start today, so have only completed half the block, but it
looks fabulous. In the year that I've been doing patchwork, one of the most important things I've learned is not to over-press. These
pieces fit together wonderfully without the distortion of too much pressing!
