I think the main purpose of this program is to promote Thailand, so that's why it needs to be Thai food. But instead of eating Thai food in Thailand (which of course everyone will do when they travel to Thailand), they help promote SEA countries and telling that even if you don't come to Thailand you still can try Thai food in SEA countries. It's kinda like help promoting ASEAN countries, but the main focus is on Thailand as the title suggested. English is not my first language, but I hope this helps explain the idea of this program.

I remembered when I was in Bangkok. The secretary of my big boss took us to eat Japanese food in Bangkok for lunch & western food for dinner. The next day, I bought myself some Thai street food & ate it on the spot, making of them get shocked & begin to worry about it. So I said to all of them, what's the point of being in Bangkok if I never have any chance to eat the authentic taste of Thai food? It's not like I've never tasted Thai food in my country, but there will always something that gonna be different.
