As a mom of 2 daughters , this song resonates with me so much . The very first time I heard it , I cried like a baby and put the song on repeat and just couldn’t get it out of my head , it gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it !!!!! It’s a very powerful song and Lainey’s vocals as well as Hardy’s just blow me away !!!!
My husband a couple of times has said Just wait in the truck to defend his family. And if you knew my quiet, soft spoken man. 2 times it was at the funeral home when our son's passed away and I couldn't handle it, Another is to defend me when my dad passed, When I heard this song when you said Wait in the truck, just wait in the truck, Hit me so hard I cry everytime I hear it.. I have listen to this awesome song. Kudo's to you HARDY and Lainey Wilson.
Man, I don't know anyone who tells a story like Hardy. And he's dang right. Lainey is so powerful-that voice is like country lightning. This whole song, video, performance, the story, the voices... it's going to be iconic and legendary. I guarantee this is one of those songs that's going to stand.

This song rings so true just about everyone who has been through a domestic violent relationship at one stage or another wodhes someone would do this for them
i prayed for someone like this to come into my life from 3 years old. they made me feel more at peace with myself for feeling my whole life that abusers must be eradicated. they take lives just the same as a murderer does, only its a never ending cycle of torment the victim....and her children...must endure. thank you for bringing to life the hero that has always lived in my mind.

I have loved this song from the first time I heard it! I seriously told my husband now that sometimes I wished that I had someone to tell me "just wait in the truck" back before I met him! I was in a really abusive relationship before. The POS is now sitting in jail awaiting trial for an unrelated case. Him and 3 others tortured a woman and dumped her body after putting her body in a toolbox. I pray her soul is at peace! And I pray he rots in hell!

And the gave me 5 years but sent me back to indiana and made me do 2house arrest. This isn't funny man you didn't write this and lainey actually showed up for me in court. She is my watermelon moonshine.. and yes I did grab a burning 🚬 from his ashtray it's in court records..
