I LIVE IN CLEARFIELD CO PA WE NO NO LONGER have senior day we do have the color thing but we used to have a special day once a month usually on a Wednesday where something like all shorts or all short sleeves or all kids were 25 or 50 % Off which would get rid of overages but they sell that in bulk now to agencies and other areas
This week, just started putting stuff aside for a local church that does a tag sale twice a year. No more “big box” thrifts for me. I like to know that things are priced affordably so people can and will buy them. As a rule , we do not have lots to donate and I pass along granddaughters clothes to a friend for her granddaughter.
My Salvation army seems to have a minimum price of $3.99. I quit going there when they were selling a tiny and plain coffee cup for that minimum. Should be less than 99c.
Quit goodwill a long time ago. Barely any senior discount, colored tag one day a week, and high prices. Not even a coupon for donations anymore. Greedy company. Job training? Bull. I know people who work for them in the stores. Always complaining about pay, lack of benefits, and the only thing they do is clean and stock. However, my son in law was offered a job at the corporate office. Straight out of college, he was offered a high 6-figure salary.. it's no different than a lot of charities. Raise the money to pay the big boys the big bucks. Just my opinion.. It seems like Vegus is an exception. Around me, they suck.
I do the same thing! I shop the sales and get things for just above Goodwill prices that are new. I now donate my High end clothing to the church thrift shops, or to center that give women clothing for back to work!
I just went into a Goodwill yesterday looking for some personal items. I do not source from there. It’s waaaay to expensive for my niche. Anywho….yesterday I saw a woman working there taking a bunch of clothes off the racks. I did a double take when I noticed all of the items in her arms with red tags. That peeked my curiosity because I had been looking for the current color of the week (blue) tags to choose from and I couldn’t barely find anything. Side note, for many years it seemed that every time I went into the Goodwills here in Northern Indiana, I could find almost ever other color but that weeks color. I thought maybe just some colors weren’t going on sale or people were buying them up. NOPE! I walked past 2 other women and they were also removing red tag items and putting them on a rack. A few minutes later, they took that rack, full of all red tag items, and hauled it to the back. It included every single one of the more expensive boutique/name brand items. I am 100% convinced they try to remove the items for the color of the week coming up next. Heaven forbid they would want to offer 50% on all those items they took off the shelves.
Yes! They do remove the color of the week items. I was told that by a fellow customer years ago. That is why you will rarely find anything with the color of the week tag. Not cool Goodwill. Why even have it if you are just gonna take it away from the customers. I feel like it's a bait and switch tactic...just my opinion. They lost me years ago. Sad, cause they pay nothing for their merch. I'm not a reseller. I used to about go broke buying at Goodwill but now I take my money to St. Vincent de Paul or other thrift stores.
Yes , they do this in my town as well. I have caught them every time. Whatever the color that is supposed to be on sale is that is what they pull off racks. They are not even courteous enough to do it over night and hide what shisters they are
Yes, I saw them taking all the stuff off the racks on Wednesday so if you shop Monday or Tuesday you can get stuff half off! Lousy to the max! Only stuff you can find on Sunday for .99 is garbage shirts with stains and half beads missing and ripped seams. There's about three Goodwill stores left in central Kentucky that have anything nice left on Sundays ( not stained/torn) and dishes are over the moon! And it all smells bad and filthy.
@@LorettaT-123 I like St Vincent a lot more than Goodwill but over the past 5-10 years they have started taking all of there more expensive items, pricing them up, and putting them behind their large glass case counters. Also, they increased the prices of the future because they wanted to detract resellers from buying it all up. Sadly though, this does no good for people like me who used to rely on them when I was dirt poor to find nice things for less.
GOODWILL SHOULD GET BLAMED FOR THE PRICES AT GOODWILL!!! THEIR INVENTORY IS FREE!!! WE ARE ALL SICK OF IT. I AM NOT A RESALLER. I am a person on a fixed income that cant afford retail.....Goodwill was my answer to that. NOT ANYMORE!!
Hello Mikey! Here are my frustrations and suggestions to the Goodwill. If there were something on the shelf that has been there for a few days or more they need to mark it down. They need one person in each store to do this. It drives me crazy when I see something there for over a week and it's overpriced. When it could be gone for just a few dollars instead of ending up in a landfill. My second gripe is the price of clothing and shoes. It's funny because they'll have something that's super expensive normally and they'll up the price on it but then they'll still charge six dollars for a plain no name T-shirt. The plain tea should just be $2. Make it make sense. Third is when they charge a few dollars for some thing that is clearly from the dollar tree. This drives me crazy. My goodwill will take a pair of Nikes and charge $14.99-$20 but a pair bo Bo's is still $8. The bobos should be $2-3. I cannot believe the amount that they charge for clothing -!: shoes. It is absolutely highway robbery. Around here, we have the luxury of going to the value village a block away. Sometimes they get a little crazy with their prices, but at least they have two colors that are on sale every day and sometimes three colors. Lastly, I'm going to say that I absolutely hate donating to the Goodwill. My husband likes taking it to them because it's easy. But I would much rather give it to a place where they don't overcharge for their items and people have a fair shot at them. Come on goodwill! Get it together! PS I typed texted this so sorry sorry for any errors!
Hey Mikey, Such good video & yes Goodwill's in my area are so highly priced! Mens short & shorts for $20.00. What?? are they thinking? My friends & I love Revivals in my area...Such bargains!! Glassware & vases still $1-$3.00. Wonderful 1/2 off the store every month!! Got a Stained Glass vintage lamp for $12 - Sells on Etsy for $265.00 Best wishes & hugs to SuperCort!
I quit donating years ago to GW, instead I go to several smaller thrift stores and tell my friends and family about the smaller thrift stores they can donate to. One of my pet peeves is when you check out at GW and they ask you to round up to help their programs. I’m like….isnt all this stuff I’m buying going towards your programs? I came in to buy what I needed to help their programs and then they ask for more at the checkout??? I’m really disappointed in GW. I used to go in around the winter months and buy coats for the homeless. Now I buy coats elsewhere. Some people blame resellers, but they are not to blame. The blame lies with GW. The resellers buying IS supporting GWs programs. Resellers are helping with recycling and keeping things out of the landfills.
Same. Refuse to donate to them and IF I happen to purchase anything will not round up, even if it is 3¢. In my area, we have several ministry-based thrift chains that are donating all funds to help former inmates as they work to reintegrate into the community. Their prices are amazing (books are 3 for $3) whereas Goodwill sells all books for $6.99 EACH. Now, if one thrift store can sell a book for $1.00, why does GW need to sell it for $7.00? The only answer is GREED.
Mikey my mama used to say back in the seventies that Goodwill was always high in the 70s so that's why we always went to garage sales and little bitty second hand resale shops that's why I do a more money than family thrift center and garage sales
Goodwill is terrible to source from now. They pull all the good items and list online. Going to the bins has been meh for a while now. What does get put on the floor is overpriced trash. Sometimes they miss good clothing brands, but you have to search harder now.
I love thrifting. I am not a reseller but just like the treasure hunt. Our Goodwills have senior discount day, color tag, and a point reward to earn money off.
I just moved from SoCa to Florida & both GW's only offer 10% off for seniors on senior day. There in Nevada seniors are blessed to get 40% off. I wish they would all take care of seniors like that. They won't be getting any donations from me.
The thrift store I used to go to I've basically stopped going except for on senior day what I found out is that they are googling their donations to see what they go for and that's what they're charging and all this stuff is donated to them for free how ridiculous
I find something at any thrift store, garage sale or estate sale the key is the purchase price & I only buy if I feel the product has value for my business platform.
HOWEVER THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE THAT DO NOT RESALE THEY ACTUALLY NEED A LAMP AND CANT AFFORD 16.00 FOR A LAMP THEY GET THAT CRAP DONATED. YOU SAID EVERY DAY PEOPLE THIS IS GOOD FOR NO ITS NOT THERE ARE STILL POOR AND OLD PEOPLE THAT WOULD LIKE SOMETHING NICE AND THATS TO MUCH. YARD SALES ARE WHERE I GO
I used to work for a bank and some of the people that was working for goodwill would come in to cash their paycheck and they would make less than 30.00 a week, not sure how many hours they worked but the pay was the same every week.
Our local GWs in Maryland donothave dollar day and do not discount different colors each day. We do have Senior Day with only 30% off. Prices have gone up quite a bit. They are very small in size compared to yours.
The problem is that prices on a lot of stuff I like to buy is near or at retail but without any return guarantee. In fact where I live most of the items I look for go to their e-commerce site. Not any fun anymore. I use to donate to support their cause and buy to save but for me that is no longer possible.
Where I live (Michigan) they have been closing Goodwill’s because the cost of renting the building is too high. You add that in with the cost of employees, lighting, heating, and cooling, it’s a lot. I have noticed a few spots where Goodwill is building new buildings, I was in a newer one a week ago. The girl working said Goodwill found it was cheaper to build new than to rent a building. I noticed that the prices in Goodwill were cheaper in the newer building.
Mikey, I'm glad that you went to different places. Sometimes you have to keep looking to find the rainbow. Good for you. I bet you will get loads of points with supercork. When you get home for that meat pounder good for you.❤😊❤😊❤😊
I used to go to goodwill for sports jerseys here in Dayton Ohio but now they sell local softball team jerseys from the 80s for 50-75 bucks and the knock off counterfeit china jerseys they price at 75- 100. The goodwills around here literally sell used jeans for top retail price that you would find a new pair of jeans and shoes can be old and beat up from the 80s if they have a nike swoosh on them it's a hundred dollar price tag
It's still way cheaper than value village and our salvation army's are hard to find alot of them are all gone here in Canada, all we have left is gw and it hurt but I need to still check it out here and there, but the prices are so high I saw a vsh no remote 34.99 and I was shocked, I got lucked at a random house sale for a duel combo vhs/DVD for 10.50, I'm always shopping around for a deal for my family, it's been hard to find good items and less discounts it's sad over here too. ✌️ 💛 🇨🇦
I went to a. Goodwill in Michigan and I remembered why I shouldn't go back. The prices ridiculously high. I saw something that still have the retail tag and the Goodwill price was $2 more!?!😮
Goodwill is trying to charge like new prices for used items. I prefer Salvation Army, Hospice or Safe Harbor most days (and I’m NOT a reseller). I feel for you guys trying to source! 😮
If u don't watch Home Schooling picker, i think that's her channel, Kayla. She has learned a lot about reselling u might pick up some info u don't know yet. ❤ your Fan Jan
Higher prices in a nice store that has actual product that can be resold is acceptable. The problem comes when the Goodwill is a total dump, filthy, with dollar-store crap and higher prices. That's what many of us are dealing with now.
Great video Mikey! Goodwill seemed like kind of a bust, good thing you’ve got the storage units👍😂You and SuperCort have a great weekend☀☀🌵#moneybagger💰
Goodwill has never been good. I used to work there years and years ago. It's a trash place. Not only outrageous prices but when they get lets say appliances like vacuums that work but might be older or a cheaper kind they cut the power cords and throw them in the trash. Instead of donating it to a place that provides donations to the needy free of charge. Please anyone donating stuff find a place that gives your donations to those in need for free. And I'm sorry but the Goodwill in Washington state I worked for didn't do anything for anyone but themselves. Their on the job training was to have us sorting then outrageously overpricing the donations. Then made us cut electric cords and throw out so much usable donations it was truly disgusting.
I saw a news report on Goodwill throwing out merchandise. Why would they throw out perfectly good merchandise, especially since all they care about is profits?
A local church used to have a weekly thrift that was a real honey hole for glass and jewelry. The Pandemic killed it off, along with the best rummage sale around. I don't know where their donations go now, and they were massive; I just hope NOT Goodwill!
The cat is Tonala, or wants to be; the glaze looked funny. The glass purses were low-quality Chinese copies; I don't think they're more than $20 new. Gorham (not Gorman) crystal is Made in China. That's a "put it down" name. The same for Oleg Cassini giftware etc - it turns up in Marshall's/HOmegoods for not much.
That kitty is Tonala 😊 . Salvation Army is priced more reasonably at their retail prices than here . So what to do ? Every reseller Jack up the prices on various platforms ? What about stores like Big Lots, Burlington etc ? I’ve found stuff to flip from stores like that up here .
In Ohio/WV the Goodwill did away with the plus size clothes by themselves. They put all the clothes together and the clerk said the higher ups want people to have to look at all the clothes. Not doing it!! The prices are decent here as we are a small area.
They get free donations and sell them at high prices. I go there and I actually have over heard shoppers say that WOW! their prices are high. I have seen things from dollar tree that are selling for MORE money at Goodwill. many times. Also broken items being sold for high prices. I go to another thrift store that is awesome. And LOW LOW prices. The word has gotten out on this place and there is always a steady stream of customers. Every now and then I get something at goodwill that’s ok.
I found it interesting that the goodwills around me price dresses at 7.99 and shoes from 6.99 to 24.99 but i walked in a GW in NC and the whole store was 4.00 no matter what I got. I asked if it was a sale and she said no. I also know about dollar says and we dont get dollar days 🤔
Which is ridiculous. Resellers spend ENORMOUS amounts of money in these stores. Once they run off the resellers, they are left with very minimal profits.
Dont know what has happened to the inventory at my local Goodwills starting about 3 months ago. My wife and I both shop for different categories of items and we've both noticed sparse inventory and lots of junk! Prices are ridiculous. I no longer round up.
Not been to GW, there is nothing there. Plus ppl go early stay half day, just hanging around for the cart to cone out, from the back. Don’t give others a chance.
Reseller have ruined Goodwill for me. They get there early in the morning when the rest of us are working all scoop up all the name brands. We are left with damaged clothing, Lularoe from eons ago and Shen clothing
Our whole family has stop shopping at Goodwill .
Used ball pint jars for 1.99. Makes that $24 plus tax per case. That’s double the price new retail.
Screw greedwill, they don't deserve to be in business the way they do business.
In our area. No senior discounts, no dollar days, no color of the week. They took it all away. But yet that want all my donations with no benefits.
Donate elsewhere , and be sure to let GW know 😊
The same is true in Raleigh NC!
Oh wow - we still have all of that plus the dressing rooms are still open.
Prices can be expensive though!
Don't forget, as expensive as they are, they still ask you to round up.....

At Salvation Army stores in my city if a homeless person, or someone in need, asks for a coat, backpack, etc. they will give it to them for free.
As it should be
Ive not seen anything in our local Salvation Army stores even if it was free!
Steven is 100% percent spot on !! The prices at
Goodwill are insanely
high & no longer fun 2 shop at thrift store's😢
Thank you Steven for caring enough to buy the man the sleeping bag. The world needs more kind people , I am sending you a hug from Michigan.
And another hug from Maine!
And another hug from California!! You are a sweet guy!! Thank you!! 🙏🙏🙏💙💙💙💙
Don’t give goodwill any donation sell it yourself or trow it away I rather give it to none profit organization or give it to local church

Whoo hoo 🎉 bonus points with the wife lol 😀 for the silver meat cleaver 😅😅😅😅
I went to a. Goodwill in Michigan and I remembered why I shouldn't go back. The prices ridiculously high. I saw something that still have the retail tag and the Goodwill price was $2 more!?!😮
Goodwill is trying to charge like new prices for used items. I prefer Salvation Army, Hospice or Safe Harbor most days (and I’m NOT a reseller). I feel for you guys trying to source! 😮
Come to South California and see for yourselves if Goodwill is still good.
Hi Mikey 🎉 your channel is fun !!
That’s an adorable piece. I can’t believe it’s broken
Try more garage sales I find art glass everything for great prices and rummage sales and church thrift stores 😊
Goodwills in my area are nothing like those in las vegas. Much smaller and crappier.
Missed out on the Baggallini black bag at salvation army
That meat tenderizer reminds me of Everything Everywhere All at once, if you've seen it you know! 😂❤
Great video. So true prices are ridiculous. Savers is even worse than Goodwill.
I would go to goodwill, to buy what i like, like shoes, shirts, sweater, maybe watches (if they have any)
In Ohio/WV the Goodwill did away with the plus size clothes by themselves. They put all the clothes together and the clerk said the higher ups want people to have to look at all the clothes. Not doing it!! The prices are decent here as we are a small area.
I’ve seen the same item from Dollar Tree store at goodwill for $1.99. That’s nuts!
slim pickings today Mikey but they are other days thank you for sharing
I buy most of my things from Goodwill. There's nothing wrong with that. Hey Mikey!
I think the made in Mexico brand you are thinking of is Talavera.
mexican glass is humming bird feeder
Best meat tenderizer I ever bought had about 20 years and still looks great and works well ❤❤❤😊😊😊
They get free donations and sell them at high prices.
Hi Mr Mikey Bags!
Can’t wait to watch!
👋🏽💞
Another great video! Thanks Mikey 💓 😊
Oh no little less giddy lmao 🤣 that made me laugh 🤣 🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎 we would never blame you
😂
I found it interesting that the goodwills around me price dresses at 7.99 and shoes from 6.99 to 24.99 but i walked in a GW in NC and the whole store was 4.00 no matter what I got. I asked if it was a sale and she said no. I also know about dollar says and we dont get dollar days 🤔
The name of the mexican pottery you're thinking about is called Tanala
Tonala. The more colourful Talavera can also do well.
Yep seems ya doing better these day on you storage units ..team up with Sonny..that would be great footage viedo😊
That capt america hat looked cool
hummingbird feeder. made in Mexico with love... 😅
I will never donate to goodwill, since the prices arw way too damn high.
We've stopped also...saw a vid with a copper trying to get a pair of shoes for a homeless woman and goodwill wouldn't budge......not cool
That meat tenderiser, ....my mind went elsewhere!!!!!😅😅😅
I agree. Resellers are raising the prices of these places.
Which is ridiculous. Resellers spend ENORMOUS amounts of money in these stores. Once they run off the resellers, they are left with very minimal profits.
I don’t think it’s a perfume holder but it’s a hummingbird feeder I’m sure
Dont know what has happened to the inventory at my local Goodwills starting about 3 months ago.
My wife and I both shop for different categories of items and we've both noticed sparse inventory and lots of junk!
Prices are ridiculous. I no longer round up.
I will no longer shop at goodwill nor donate to them! Eventually, they’re gonna start feeling it=!
you are such a pleasant man
In my area, salvation army is way more spendy
You are getting a good following, Mikey. Good your wife has a traditional job with benefits
No senior discounts for us either. Prices are crazy. I only go to use their restroom😱😳😂
Here in Central New Jersey they do not allow us to use the bathroom. They tell us to go to doors down to Walgreens!
@@jerrsygirlthats rude of them
Yes That's a Mexican cat It's very good eye It's the same type of Mexican pottery as a bird
Not been to GW, there is nothing there. Plus ppl go early stay half day, just hanging around for the
cart to cone out, from the back. Don’t give others a chance.
Reseller have ruined Goodwill for me. They get there early in the morning when the rest of us are working all scoop up all the name brands. We are left with damaged clothing, Lularoe from eons ago and Shen clothing
Love watching your videos
You are so funny 😊😉🤗
Thank you so much 😁
I'm very sure those plates are probably make it to the goodwill bins
I think it's Talavera pottery , Mikey 😊
Tonala pottery
@tanyiamiller1961 oh, yeahh!! Thank you for correcting! I feel silly lol 😆
