After 10 years I retouched Queen Face It Alone to recreate the original 1988's version of the song. I remixed and re-recorded many of the tracks to fit Freddie's voice. It took two weeks to complete the whole song and now let's hear how Freddie's voice matches to The Dark Rock Version of Face It Alone.

When I heard the Brian and Roger version, I felt disappointed and my first thought was "someone should put this in your instrumental version" and here you did it. This is it! Brian and Roger castrated this song with great guitars, it missed that claw your version has. Chapeau bass master!
I don't like to judge people. Roger and Brian are fantastic musicians for sure. But Freddie was the locomotive, his piano and voice glued the whole band together. Why do I think so? Just look at their musical output after 91'. they are like Roger Waters - stripping platinum from their own old hits

this really sounds like a lost The Miracle or Innuendo song and not just a generic demo great work man, your covers were very important to me when growing up, i would try to remix Freddie's in them when i was little, and this was when i started getting into music oroduction not only that, but you're the proof that to sound like Brian May, you need to play with his passion and not just have Brian's Guitar, a coin and amplitube, you need his love, and you have it, If you Want, you can make easily Your guitar sing just like Brian, and this for me is gold

Better than the version published by Queen. The original demo from 1988 is out there as well, without the usage of the later applied pitch correction software, which you can hear in the already processed vocal tracks you have used in your version, too. I would love to hear Freddies original pitches. Even though he had developed nodules in his vocal chords and not the vocal range he had in the 70s, his hearing and feeling for pitch was untouched and the pitch correction of the vocal tracks was unnecessary and overdone. Here is the original demo of the song, I like the chord progression they do at 1:17 - 1:25 it didn´t find its way into the recently released Queen version, even though it´s a very cool harmonic turn: ua-cam.com/video/e3ri4IB34V8/v-deo.html I have to listen to your version again to tell if it includes some of the harmonies from the demo which they missed out in the audio-file released by Brian, Roger and these "modern" producers.

In the released demo version, Freddies vocals are overlapping, I guess its hard to isolate from this source... To me, melodyned vocal tracks always sound robotic and unnaturally precise on the grid of equal temperament. On Face It Alone, the second, higher intonated "in the end", especially the pitch shift in the word "end" gets me off. It activates my Cher-trauma, when "Believe" was on the radio. :D -
So much more engaging than what was released. My guess is that they scaled down the band to put full focus on Freddie. If it was released on The Miracle, it would most likely sound like this.
Its good, but the emoting on guitar is not the same is Dr Mays. This is too over the top. Taking away from the core, Freddie and his voice, coupled with the other 3 original members instrumentations. For the most part Queen stopped this overblown orchestration in mid career

Did you run the song through Ai to strip the vocals and give you clean drum and bass?
No. I just got the isolated vocal track in a very good quality. All the other instruments are played and created by me.
