  • Video taken on June 26th 2019...the day (probably) 150 paragliders top landed on Mont Blanc.
    I was lucky enough to be part of that.
    I'll leave it to you to decide if it was stupid or else...
    Here are the tracks:

    Voiles très performantes , mais il faut être un bon pilote également ! Bravo pour cette vidéo, avec quelques commentaires sur la montagne et sans blabla.
    Vidéo sobre , j'aime bien.
    J'ai fait le Mont Blanc en 1992 , montée à pied par les trois monts , puis décollage du sommet avec une vielle voile ALNAIR de chez ITV un prototype, finesse 3,2 direct à l'attéro , et fatigué , rien à voir avec maintenant ! Mais c'est le progrès technologique !

    what a awesome flight! I will make a chance to fly at Chamonix next year. Please let me know which season is the best for thermal flight.

      I'd say June...I didn't fly that much in Chamonix, but best flights I had were in June (second half...)

    L'envers du Mont-Blanc, rentrer par la traversée des Aiguilles de Chamonix et pour finir les Drus, tout cela juste avec les ascendances - Quel pied !

    Which paragliding company that you bought this from?

    • @micinvit
      @micinvit  2 роки тому

      It's a Sky paragliders (CZ) Apollo2 (EN "B"). If you "google it", I'm sure you can find a local dealer

    Wonderful! Congrats! How long time from take off at 2000 moh to landing in Chamonix? Regards, Lars

    • @micinvit
      @micinvit  3 роки тому

      Hi Lars. "Direct flight" won't take much...10-15 minutes (?). There are two landings (one a bit closer to the cable car), but use the other one ;-) (official).

      @@micinvit thanks, and the duration of the whole trip?

    • @micinvit
      @micinvit  3 роки тому

      @@larssol1 You mean from takeoff to landing in Chamonix? Around 3,5 - 4hours (including the top landing and an initial "mistake" in the first attempt, that forced me to go back and regain altitude over Chamonix).

    How long have you been paragliding for?

    • @micinvit
      @micinvit  4 роки тому

      Around 500 h. Some pilots can become very good in short time (flying a lot around the year). I'm not one of those. Is not a question of years, but a question of hours in the air. I was lucky, that day: Right place, right time and exeptional conditions.

    Is it allways so crowded?

    • @micinvit
      @micinvit  4 роки тому

      No :-)
      That was an exceptional day (as weather conditions).
      Unfortunatelly, after that (and because of that), top landing has been banned :-(

    Paramotor ? Or normal paragliding ?

    • @micinvit
      @micinvit  4 роки тому

      No motor. Just a normal paraglider (you can see, in the video, that all others were normal paragliders)

    How can you go up ?

    • @micinvit
      @micinvit  4 роки тому

      You have to search for "rising air mass", much like a leaf is lift by wind or/and warmer air that rise.
      That "rising warm air" is the cause for clouds to form. If is strong (and big) enough, you can fly inside of this "thermal" (that's what is called) and get higher.
      Even if there are no clouds, it doesn't mean that there are no thermals (in this case, they're called "blu Thermals").
      Google it ;-)
