Excellent explanation. A buddy did tell me to drill out the rivet and it would just pop out, but the way you did it kinda preserves the old panel, in case you ever wanted to put it back in.
I'm about to have to pull the other side off because I'm installing a backup cam and I have to drill a hole above my licence plate. You are right, there are no videos on pulling those damn black panels off
Those look like the riveted. When I took them off I don’t pry them I just wear a pair of gloves because that plastic can be sharp and I give them a good tug and they pop out… One thing I’ve done with wood to make it bend some people will put it in a steamer but I don’t have a steamer that big… I have soaked them for a long period in water and then pull them in very slowly with screws to bend it… I would insulate that door with a Roxul or wool insulation And screw the boards on Love the progress
Thanks for your help, appreciate it. I do have gloves and should have had them on.... sometimes I just start working, and before I realize it I am taking off door panels!
Brute force and a chisel with hammer.. now I'm looking for how to get the handle door panel off..got the rivets off but cant get it off around the doorhandle
You sure don't ever want to remove those clips!!! That's why they designed them like that, because if you drilled them out or removed those clips you would never ever get them back on period. Just pull the plastic panel very hard and they will pop out. To put them back on line them up with the clips and pound them back in with the bottom of your fist or rubber mallet. BUT NEVER REMOVE THOSE METAL CLIPS OR YOU MIGHT AS WELL THROW AWAY THAT BACK PLASTIC PANEL.
They're weird looking rivets is all they are. Drill them out. I have same truck. I had to pry my panels off bending the hell out of those clips in back. I got it all together again with new giant rivets.

Looking for my long screwdriver. Found a pair of long needle nose pliers. Did the trick. I am reusing the door and it popped right back in. Thanks.
Hi ,you did great work thank you for sharing watching from Africa Uganda God bless you
Hi Francie, It is nice to see a video from you! I have never heard of mushrooms flowers. Very pretty!
Thanks, school keeps me pretty busy.
I don’t think they are called mushroom flowers just what they looked like.
I think the door panels are riveted on there. My rear door ajar alarm keeps staying on and it’s driving me crazy. Anyway thanks for the video.
I literally just yanked the panel really hard and they popped right out. Took about 10 seconds.
Mine is the same type and it’s a 2023

Great job Francie! Mine were much easier. Just a.few.screws. but they're cheaper panels.
Ps pretty mushrooms!
I hope I don’t regret taking them off!!
@@franciesjoy1269 Youll be able to get them back on probably easier than taking them off. 👍
Doing this exact thing right now lol
It is a steel rivit have to drill it out .. pure hell.
Is quite possibly some of the most profound stupid s*** I've ever seen
I believe those are pop rivets
Yes I finally got
Them
NEVER SHOW HOW REMOVE THE PINS !!!!???
Why?
