- Here is an October 1995 episode of the Price is Right.
This episode is significant in that it marks (abruptly) the final time Holly Hallstrom appeared on the show. Will there be other significant events happening today?

I remember watching an episode Friday Nov 10, 1995 when school was closed (Veterans Day fell on a Saturday) and I was broken hearted that Holly wasn't there anymore. I came back to school the following Monday feel distraught over Holly's departure (I was in 6th Grade back then). Coincidentally, my radio station was playing "She's Gone" by Hall & Oates later that night made me think of Holly Hallstrom.
Without a doubt, one of the two saddest and heartbreaking days in "TPiR" history (the other being December 14, 2000 when Kathleen & Janice were unjustifiably let go) : '(
I'm sure Mr. whateve111 (who just got banned) disagrees. :D
Seriously, though, it was sad that Bob's ego (largely) ruined what was a great combination on the show.

Wonder if that first Showcase (Janice looking for a new roommate/Rod Roddy's copy describing Holly's Elvis impersonator character as looking "a little bit familiar") was intended as a hint Holly was about to get the boot?
I think 🤔 it was.
Did Holly disguised as Elvis Presley during the last showcase before she was terminated?
I like how that big guy at the beginning reinacted Fred Sanford's "Big One". That was hillarious. And to think that this particular show aired 4 years to the month after Redd Foxx passed away....from the REAL BIG ONE-ironically on his new sitcom on the same network as TPIR (CBS).
Also for each of those 6 One Bid Prizes & 2 Showcases, I would have guessed the following.

When you are the last one to bid and you make a bid lower than the other three, the best thing to do is to just bid $1.
When you are 💯 percent sure on the first number, which guarantees you a second chance, the trick is to get the second one wrong the first round, then choose the right number for it in order to get another chance. Most people, if not all, try to get the second number right, and usually do, the first round even though the first number has already guaranteed them another round. Does anyone understand what I am trying to say here?

The was also Annette's last show, unless she returned for the tryout to replace both Holly and Gena, which was filled by Chantel Dubay in May 1996.
PEDRO GOMEZ Correction: Chantel Dubay became the third permanent Barker's Beauty 💅 on THE PRICE IS RIGHT 👉 on April 2️⃣2️⃣, 1️⃣9️⃣9️⃣6️⃣, as a replacement for both Gena Lee Nolin (BAYWATCH) and Holly Hallstrom after the first three weeks in April as a tryout model.
But Chantel had a few tryout weeks prior to April, which include the episode where Bryan gave up $5,000 and won $10,000. But you are right on third PERMANENT model since Kathleen Bradley and Holly HallStrom were also in tryouts. However, I think Annette never tried out after Holly was gone. There was also Mindy from the 1993-1994 tryouts and frequent 80's sub model, Kyle.
Janice Pennington was, of course, one of the original Barker's Beauties and Dian Parkinson subbed for other original TPIR model Anitra Ford as a brunette looking to look like Anitra.

Bob barker Showcases are so unfair.. of course those furnitures are worth $12000 at least, and if ur showcase has a car that will be more than 20k.. ughh. bob has the worst showcases... (but he is a great host) of course if ur showcase is only furnitures you will definitely win.. ugh..
Remember this day well! Much heavier back then. I was amazed by how much makeup Bob had on. He was a very warm and friendly host! I still have the Hamburger Chair - FOR SALE!!

They had to put all of that make up on him because white people does not age well. He probably look horrible without make up.

I absolutely agree. Holly still looked amazing at 43...better than some women in their 20s. She was a total knockout!

I don’t have anything against Holly I just know that she was too fat to watch on the price is right. But on the other note you did bring up the fact that white people do not age well and I agree with you 100% on that. I mean Janice looks like Frankenstein now.
