I dont think you read Obeka right. She doesn't just give you one extra upkeep, it's equal to the damage she has dealt. A three power bump with a court out would be BACKBREAKING.
Yeah... Court of Ambition, Cunning, Embereth, Lochthwain and Vantress are all REALLY powerful. Ire is strong but not as good as the others and is more expensive. Still that's 5/6 courts in those colors that would be INSANELY dangerous.
Kellan is like Chulane without the card draw, but with bant colors, you have access to almost all of the best card draw engines in existence and you can set the deck up with cascade/discover and cards that let you to cast off the top of your library, making card draw almost completely irrelevant. Add a splash of foretell and plot cards in there and you get an absolutely BUSTED deck.
Obeka + Break Through the Line, then stack on the upkeep cards to profit and "on attack" trigger cards for her Power to increase after she is swinging through unblocked. She's probably the most OP of all 15.
OK I've got an idea on Obeka. She'd be great to pair with cards like Triskadekaphile that say "if _x_ on your upkeep, you win". So you can set up on precombat main phase, attack with Obeka, then win in extra upkeep.
The fact that they put Ghiree in white is insane. With cards like Soul's Attendent and Cathar's crusade, you can get a bunch of life gain and counters off of just triggers alone even if you only use it with legendaries and sack them to legends rule.
I'm pretty positive Vraska does NOT deprive graveyard synergies outside of reanimate. The card explicity says "DIES" on it, meaning the creature MUST hit the graveyard and therefore still triggers all graveyard synergy effects. The only thing this deprives them of is the ability to reanimate. They will still drain you, or whatever else though which is what an insane amount of graveyard decks will do... and a ton of reanimator decks are self milling, discarding or directly putting their own stuff in the graveyard not from the battlefield so this doesn't do anything there either. Soooo... yeah. Vraska isn't actually THAT good, especially since the treasures also come in tapped. Still good but yeah since she doesn't have an exile clause she's not denying much.
Hmm you guys are missing the new Gitrog, which will be very strong. I agree that Stella will be the strongest commander but the scenario you described does not work with Guttersnipe as she copies spells - which is not casting. But yes, she has a lot of infinite combos.
Even though I enjoy the new cards I must say one thing: The power level of the new cards is just getting bigger and bigger. And it's kinda scary because sooner or later players will be forced to play better and more optimized decks because otherwise they will bet steamrolled.
@@turnipton9871That's the thing though. Their comment wasn't necessarily about price but about having to make more and more tuned decks just to keep up.
umm... yeah kinda. I mean in the case of some of these cards if you just play like "I play big creatures and swing" you can do fine lol a ton of voltron decks just sorta beat most of these commanders. those are both types of decks that don't necessarily need to be super optimized you can just go wild buuuuuut yeah... power creep is for sure a thing! decks overall tend to be tuned up these days though, even precons are much stronger than they were on average. unfortunate that jankier decks are harder to pull off but that's fixable with a likeminded playgroup as well
Aaah! I love seeing the two of you back together & riffing. Def more of this kind of content pls
Music is a little loud, on a podcast type episode I don't think music is really needed to be honest
Yup my adhd ass couldn't hear a thing
How'd you convince Matt to join for this video on a set that doesn't have an Etali reprint in it? 😂

Cool video
Music was a bit loud tho

yup, and as pointed out in another comment you can also put court effects and such on the battlefield and those triggers become terrifying

Thanks for the top 15. Going to give Riku a ‘shot’ 🤠

Obeka does look really interesting
Yuma, proud protector is the one I’ve seen winning the most
Big fan of the show, love when we get to see some METT!
Nice! Here for the algorithm
Can barely hear you guys. Id re-upload without the music. Its super unnecessary.

A decently tuned forty dollar Grenzo deck can still solo every one of these schmucks.
Power isn't tied exclusively to price.
