Great video. I’d look up Binchotan, it’s a Japanese type of lump charcoal that’s extremely hard and quite shiny. It also burns hotter and longer than normal lump, similar to B&B. I’d guess B&B has a different cooking process than Royal Oak that might last longer and at run at a higher temperature, and thus carbonize the wood more. More carbonization ( > 75%) would make the charcoal look shinier, and explain the hotter, longer burn with less ash.
I stopped buying Kingsford about a year ago After more than 30 years of using their product, when their charcoal was no longer consistent. I'm very happy with the Royal Oak lump charcoal.
Seems B&B was the winner. As for the smoke to clear, they seemed to be the same. Right after you announced B&B was burning clean it was just as smoky as the Royal Oak. The other thing that was quite noticeable was when the hot coals were dumped. The B&B looked like fireworks on the 4th Of July; hot embers flying about which should be of concern. For that reason alone, someone who has a wooden table for a ceramic grill may decide to use another brand of lump.
I just watched a video on how Royal Oak makes their lump charcoal and some of the comments was what I found in the last bag of their charcoal mine had rocks in it and it wasn't the first time that I had this problem and some of the wood was not chard all the way and it had the name of a company on sticks so the B&B is definitely what I'll be using from now on.
I agree to be completely objective you need to do a burn of each on each side, also a burn with only one char alone. not saying this is bad info but you should see your heat moving from one side of your plates to the other just from laws of thermal conductivity
Royal Oak is the only available one in stores near me. If B&B makes its presence I'll try it. What I can tell you is my grill has a very distinct smell compared to family and friends. They use Kingsford and starter fuel. My grill has never has never had fuel in it,always been started with a chimney.
At SCA events you sometimes see the “fuel face!” When someone uses lighter fluid to start their coals. It does leave a flavor and smell that is not something that the judges like!
The unburnt Royal Oak pieces is actually what brought me to this video. I am getting ready to fire up my smoker (Weber Smoky Mountain) and when I need to add more fuel there is a decent amount of Royal Oak that has just burned out. I'm looking into other brands.
I've never had an issue with RO performance. It does what you need it to. My complaint is their quality control. 15 lb bag has a 10 lb stump and 5 lbs of gravel in the bottom, and an occasional sprinkle of twine.

I also have found lumber in both. I use my side gas burner to light, more natural lol. I almost can smell the smoke on the video. The crackle is great too. Thanks for the video!
To me it makes no difference where it’s made. I’m more worried about how it’s made. I like B&B because they use real trees and not construction waste. It’s all probably made with Mexican laborers anyhow.
I tell you what once weekend morning I ran out of lump charcoal and I wanted to barbecue so I went to my local Kroger's and bought a bag of this Royal oak lump charcoal and I tell you what I'd never buy it again I would definitely buy a b&b all the way from now on and I'm very impressed

Just found and subbed your channel. I’m liking your comparison videos. First I love your comment regarding weighing your charcoal. Who weighs their charcoal? Like you say NO ONE. I don’t weigh myself. If you saw me you would know why.🤣 As far as your comparison between B&B and Royal Oak I find your “results” to be reasonable and credible despite your bias towards B&B. I do not have a dog in the fight so to speak. I do use Royal Oak mostly because for me I find it performs well for my needs at a less expensive price point. In my neck of the woods you can consistently get B&B for around 90 cents a pound and Royal Oak for around 56 cents a pound. While I have no problem with the results you point out I’m not sure at what point it matters that B&B is running over 700 vs Royal Oak over 600. I am confident that both are going to grill my steak just fine. Nor how the fact B&B burns completely vs Royal Oak leaving some chunks leftover benefits me. Other than the fact I would probably reuse the Royal Oak making it even more cost effective. Now if there is anything to show that cooking with B&B makes my steak have better texture or flavor than I might see paying more for it. I only mention these things as food for thought. No pun intended. I’m just an average backyard BBQer who likes to watch all kinds of BBQ videos for fun.
That is one of the nicest comments I’ve ever received! Thank you. To placate the folks that insist that weight of briquettes matters I think I may do one to show why it is silly. And I use several different charcoals at home. As you can imagine… I’ve got BAGS of extra sitting around. But in comps, I’ve never found a replacement for B&B. Thanks again

Totally agree re. Grill Grates products…. Amazing quality and versatility. Great video… I have been using Royal Oak lately - only because it is less expensive - may switch back to Jealous Devil….. thanks for the video… well done (pun intended!!)….
3 questions: (1) After you dump the charcoal out of the chimney - how long should you wait before you add food? I do it right away - but in your video you waited several minutes. (2) I got realy nervous when you sprayed the grate while it was over the fire. Isn't that dangerous?? Wouldn't it be safer to spray the grate before you place it over the fire? (3) I just started grilling and this week I bought a bag of Royal Oak. Thanks to you I will get some B&B. Did you ever mix some Royal Oak and BB together?
A1: I leave the charcoal in to bring the temperatures up on the grill that takes a few minutes. A2: I would never try that on a regular grill the grill grates prevent flareups I agree it would be safer to do it before but it would be a lot messier actually I say I don’t try this at home when you have a very good idea there maybe I’ll try that in future videos thank you. A3: I have mixed charcoal together when I cook at home sometimes I meant the end of a bag and I just makes things together I have use things like that Royal Oak and Kingsford Kingsford and B&B whatever I have left what a cooking contest with $1000 on the line I’m going to use the best tool in my cart and that’s B&B.
I cook on a Kamado, based on how you set this test up and what a ceramic grill does, the Royal Oak is superior for longer cooks. One of the things I noticed is that the BB was popping quite a bit. Popping wood is NOT what you want in a grill. It's not better burning, its faster burning. When using a Kamado, we can reuse that unburned lump for the next cook so you get more cooks out of bag than you do BB. Other than maybe cooking hamburgers, in my opinion and what I grill, the way the BB burns is inferior in all aspects.
Every bag of royal oak I've gotten has mostly just slithers in the bag. Never find any lump coal in the bags at all. Even though Royal Oak also makes the Big Green Egg bags of lump coal, they don't make their own brand as reliable as BGE brand.
Would the b&b not be getting more oxygen from the inlet? Would it not be a better test to run 2 grills of the same? And if you weigh the 2 chimney to see which had more mass could that tell you which is possibly denser wood
I swear by Cowboy charcoal. I have used B&B lately because Cowboy was not available. I have used Big Green Egg charcoal but I cant justify the price. Lots of my choices have not been available since the virus hit. AND the prices went up! I used to buy 20lb bags of cowboy for $16, Royal oak about a dollar less. Now neither is readily available, and if it is, it is expensive! Cowboy has gone to $30 plus for 20lbs! The only drawback to Cowboy is its strong smoke. Awesome today, leftovers are too smoky. Over the coals or in cast iron over the coals just cannot be topped! Your test is considerably the same as my experiences. Royal oak lights quickly, more so than others. It does not get as hot or last as long as Cowboy. I mostly use my Big Green Egg, but I have 5 charcoal grills! Each has its own purpose. I use around 400lbs of lump year, year round. I might be considered somewhat a fanatic. Given the current situation, I started making my own charcoal. Pure oak to start with. After several different methods I have succeeded! My oak lights as fast as Royal oak, lasts as long as B&B or Cowboy and the temps at peak are considerably higher! I sear steaks at 600 to 750, you cant get there with royal oak. B&B will get there but lights off slower. For an extended cook royal oak just doesnt cut it. I clean my egg at 1000 or better. Now i will be harvesting cherry, hickory, apple, maple and others now to cure for the winter and I will make charcoal from each to use as anyone would with different meats. I live in northeast Ohio and have been blessed with an abundance of different woods to flavor my cooks. On my own property! I only produce small batches, after all I am somewhat selfish when it comes to the tastes I am after. Thank you for verifying my results, I thought I was crazy. Maybe?
Flying smoke, very good video and you pointed out some good points. However, to each there own, for me and how I live and cook; of the two Royal Oak is the product for me. Here's why, I like low and slow cooking and I rarely grill stake myself. Therefore the Royal Oak is a better product for my use. In addition, it's ok that Royal Oak may leave behind some unburned remnantsets because I use that in my garden and compost. So for me Royal Oak gives me a bang for my buck. This is not to say that B&B is not a good product because I surly well use it and this video shows how to best use it and Royal Oak alike. Love the video and keep them coming and good luck in your competition. Thanks...
@@FLYINGSMOKE just combining minds for information to be able to make up ones mind. Others may not grow gardens or make compost so getting there money worth from a product maybe B&B. Indeed it is good product. Thanks for your response.
Do you get the same flavor with the briquettes as you do with the lump? I currently using RO lump because of the flavor. I’m about to switch to B&B because of your videos.
You get more smoke flavor with lump. But unless you are smoking for a long time it can be hard to tell differences between them. It takes time for the nuances that different woods to develop. Do that help?
Now you just have to clean up the rocks and pieces of clay out of the Royal Oak side haha. Nothing against Royal oak, it’s cheap and readily available where I live, but yeah, I swear some chunks look like pieces of lumber. It’s a good, cheap charcoal to turn and burn steaks and burgers, but for long cooks like brisket I use B&B or Fogo. Thanks for the video comparison!
I live in the largest city in the US. We have exactly 3 locations that sell B&B. All about a 30 minute drive from my house. I can walk and buy Royal Oak. Maybe if B&B was around, I would use it...........…
Wish I could find B&B in my world. Royal Oak is a Wallyworld brand, very cheap, and while it may not dazzle,it is everywhere, cheap, and consistent. It is the devil know. Thanks for the comparison.
My B&B charcoal (lump) had a large amount (over 1/2) of very small pieces. Albeit it, I ordered it from Amazon so it may have suffered from the mail handling. Do you find this as well? Jeff Jordan
Joshua Jack I think so. But that is just my opinion. Char logs would seem to burn the longest and since it’s simply fuel not actually high heat you need that would be what I use.
Really a wonderful video ! If you want to roast delicious meat, you 're supposed to be careful when you choose meat and charcoal ! You have to control the fire, temperature, cooking time very well ! What 's more, a good taste cant live without high quality charcoal !
Love the review but I just tried royal oak... and it was my first time.. ummmm I don't like it. I felt like it wasnt hot enough and it cooled down way to fast.. like very inconsistent.. it was hot for a moment but it seem like I have to keep putting more way to quickly
To boost reviews might I recommend swimsuit models? It may not help your marriage or anything, but the audience will enjoy lol 😂 Good review brother! Very helpful, and I’ll be sticking with my B&B
Thanks ..... I watched, but did I miss the price per pound? Further, as much as I cook and buy charcoal, I’ve never have seen B&B ag any retailer ..... last, I need lump and ordered 4 bags of RO brand from HD ..... which is readily available and inexpensive ...... price is a part of a full review ...... thanks for your reviews .... I subscribed!!
I prefer to make my own lump when I can. I have used Royal Oak when I'm out of homemade. Has always burned good. It's decent charcoal. However I always get extra "gifts" in the bag. Lots of rocks, chunks of broken brick, pieces of metal and even found a chunk of melted plastic in my last bag. I have never used B&B but have always heard good stuff about it.
Another great video, I really enjoyed it. I use the tumbleweeds to start as well at competitions. But if you want to try something different and really unusual give a small bag of original Doritos a try. I don’t know whether to be amazed or scared. They burn really high and long. Just might be something fun to try next time. Just to get a kick out of it.
I don't have any real experience with either, but you were showing a few bias toward B&B which makes it difficult to take your review too seriously. Happy grilling.
I have had good results with B&B. It’s hard not to be bias. So far they have performed well. But the results are genuine I assure you. I appreciate your comments. Thanks for taking the time to share your input, it helps me learn how to do better.
All the music is from the free use page on UA-cam. They are very specific about no copyright music on the channel. There are thousands of free use songs
Yeah that's cool I use RO Lump all the time so I'll have to pick up some B & B Lump. if you have time, you should put B & B up against FOGO. FOGO burns super clean and doesn't over power your food. Another good one is Jealous Devil and Rockwood but I think another You Tuber has had B & B and Rock wood comparison already. But FOGO and JD would be the harder ones to beat.
The way I crank up my BGE the B&B lacks a lot. Took forever for them to get going. Royal Oak....cranked up almost immediately. Sorry....I am sticking with the Made in USA Royal Oak.
I asked my friends at B&B, here is their reply: B&B uses only about 10% corn starch binder. Some companies use rice or wheat which contain gluten. Corn is gluten free. There are no other additives in our briquettes. The big companies use industrial scrap sawdust, manufacturing waste wood, mineral char (limestone, coal, and granite) sodium nitrate, and borax. B&B is 100% oak char with a little corn starch binder. You will always get consistent BTU’s and predictable smoke flavors with B&B briquettes!!
I get mine at academy sports but I don’t think they are in LAS. Check out their website and shoot them an email. They will have the distributor near you. I hope that helps
Thanks for your great reviews, I'm new and love your videos. Grill grates - I literally just made an order thanks to this gentleman and his B&B vs Kingsford Charcoal review. Sponsor him!
My local Walmart is selling 30# bags of royal oak for $16??!??!? I just can’t get myself to pay four times as much for just about all the rest. Yeah, 5# or so is dust you can’t use in that’s size bag, but it’s still just not worth it to me to pay the extra. Smokes more, burns faster and has more waste. Still way cheaper than anything else
I have both the PK classic and 360. For long cooks ash is an issue where the bottom vent can be overwhelmed and nearly choked, particularly on the 360. I just switched to B&B and don’t have any long cooks yet but based on your videos I’m confident B&B will yield better results.
I agree that Red Devilis a bit pricey. But B&B is 9 bucks a bag at academy sports. And as it burns so much longer it’s more than a bargain it’s a great tool to add to your cooking kit.
O oooo..boss imagine that that royal oak sees this video and see that you are all for b&b charcoal and would like to get sponsored by b&b..then all of a sudden you get a call from royal oak and offers you sponsorship after this..honestly would you take royal oaks sponsorship?? Hello from west texas sir..
Not with what I have seen. I try so many types and brands. Most are ok. To be honest the whole “this charcoal is better “ argument is why i started this channel. I wanted to see if the statements were true. Free charcoal would be nice but I don’t am not a salesman. I would never push a product I felt was undesirable or just to get something for free. I do appreciate your comments and thank you for watching!
@@FLYINGSMOKE Will do. The one thing I find helpful is lining my charcoal grate with 1/4 stainless steel mesh, which catches the small pebble and reused charcoal.
NO one will way it for competition...but if you are going to do a comparison, you need all things equal for the test. Also, aiming an inferred temp gauge through grill grates will get you the temp of the grates, not the charcoal. Again, weighing is SOOOOOO important when you want to do a temp comparison. More fuel means more heat.
Thanks for the upload, great informative video.. I really need to get some B&B charcoal but it seems they don't have in my city? Greeting from, Los Angeles, CALI…
OK- when you flip the grill grates to "clean" them, then what? Do you still wash them off with some kind of degreaser? Also, do you cook steaks with top open or closed?
Flipping the grates will carbonize the fat and debris in the ridges. Then just use a grill grate brush to clean them. I can’t stress this enough... WEAR THE BEST GLOVES YOU CAN AFFORD! Those coals and grates are screaming hot. I found a set of Kevlar gloves that work best for me. But good welding gloves are good too. You can also find tools to lift the grates too. As far as the lid, I cook closed. It makes the PK like an oven. I also pressure wash my cold grates from time to time. But that’s just for competition. My grates I use for just us, I use a brush on them only.

Since B&B is made in Mexico that's a no go for me. Can easily get charcoal similar enough that's made in the US.
I understand. I use Royal Oak a lot too, just not for competition
We also don't weigh our charcoal at home. We fill the chimney and cook. Great point!

Maybe?
Excellent presentation! Very well done and very informative. Thank you! Subscribed.
As soon as he responded with "I do, cause I have to clean it up.", I exclaimed "EXACTLY! RIGHT ON!"
Great PK Grill!! Where did you get that one with the folding cart ? I got mine at Western Auto in a store in Mississippi back in 1966
They are available on the PK website. They are great for saving space.
The one I was waiting for....thank you!
You are most welcome
Thanks...
I’m thankful for you watching and taking the time to leave your comments!
FLYING SMOKE you answered that perfectly!
Thanks for watching
I live in the largest city in the US. We have exactly 3 locations that sell B&B. All about a 30 minute drive from my house. I can walk and buy Royal Oak. Maybe if B&B was around, I would use it...........…
They are working to get it out. But they want to keep the quality high
Wish I could find B&B in my world. Royal Oak is a Wallyworld brand, very cheap, and while it may not dazzle,it is everywhere, cheap, and consistent. It is the devil know. Thanks for the comparison.
Thank You for watching!
Wallyworld...lol
I tried B&B lump and the inside of my smoker was left with a white residue coating everything. Any idea what it is?
No clue, that’s never happened, unless it’s dusr from clean up
Good question Michelle! I’m getting into grilling and I’m wondering about Lump and the brisqutte
I married good! I used lump tonight for steak and corn. I used briquettes last week for chicken on the Red Box
Maybe next time you should have the wife interview you! LOL!!!!! Great questions and Great video!
Thanks for that. I encourage her to poke at me because she sees things that I miss.
I am lucky to have her
I was thinking the same questions your lovely wife asked and you answered them perfectly. I find your channel interesting. Thank you.
Felony Fetcher she is my NEST day! Thank you
My B&B charcoal (lump) had a large amount (over 1/2) of very small pieces. Albeit it, I ordered it from Amazon so it may have suffered from the mail handling. Do you find this as well?
Jeff Jordan
I get mine from academy sports. I did order some Jealous Devil and it had some shipping damage.
Sorry that happened
You are absolutely right about not having a scale. Who does that at home. Not me😜
Thank you, and for watching too!
Would the b&b briquettes give me more burn time in a vertical smoker than using kingsford original for smoking racks of ribs?
Joshua Jack I think so. But that is just my opinion. Char logs would seem to burn the longest and since it’s simply fuel not actually high heat you need that would be what I use.
@@FLYINGSMOKE OK sounds good. Thanks for the reply
Just saw this....I stopped using Kingsford Charcoal because it burns out way too fast
I really think the lid affects you’re tests. Open air for both products would be more fair.
Really a wonderful video ! If you want to roast delicious meat, you 're supposed to be careful when you choose meat and charcoal ! You have to control the fire, temperature, cooking time very well ! What 's more, a good taste cant live without high quality charcoal !
Are B&B good for offset smokers? I currently use Royal Oak.
I have never tried it on an offset but it’s been great for everything else
B&b is Mexico made. Royal oak USA. I'll chose royal oak. I use it every time.
I respect your opinion but I’m gonna use the best tools that I can to win.
Most Mexican lump I have used is sooty and sparky, not what you want with a BGE. Royal burns clean and long.
Understand, not what I have seen with mine. In fact, quite the opposite
Love the review but I just tried royal oak... and it was my first time.. ummmm I don't like it. I felt like it wasnt hot enough and it cooled down way to fast.. like very inconsistent.. it was hot for a moment but it seem like I have to keep putting more way to quickly
Thank you
To boost reviews might I recommend swimsuit models? It may not help your marriage or anything, but the audience will enjoy lol 😂 Good review brother! Very helpful, and I’ll be sticking with my B&B
Thank you. And boosting will come someday!
You can get the grill grate TOO hot. If you do that at a competition, the grill marks will actually have a "burnt" taste and get you marked down.
Tvideo thats true. That’s why we practice a lot
I did that to a steak I was cooking a week or so ago. Every bite was less wonderful for it.
I will do better. I used to say the price but it can vary. That and I only had a few bags. Now my garage has 20 bags
FLYING SMOKE you do great, and I appreciate your videos .....
Found 2 bags of B&B today, plus the 4 RO brand ...... I should be good for a while
Awesome! The family will thank you
I drive 30 minutes away now just for b&b my local ACE closed down :/ I’d much rather drive than use kingsford
Now THAT is dedication sir
I prefer to make my own lump when I can. I have used Royal Oak when I'm out of homemade. Has always burned good. It's decent charcoal. However I always get extra "gifts" in the bag. Lots of rocks, chunks of broken brick, pieces of metal and even found a chunk of melted plastic in my last bag. I have never used B&B but have always heard good stuff about it.
I’ve seen “gifts” too. Thanks for watching
I use fogo for smoking and jealous devil for grilling.
Jody Davis ha! Love it
I don't have any real experience with either, but you were showing a few bias toward B&B which makes it difficult to take your review too seriously. Happy grilling.
I have had good results with B&B. It’s hard not to be bias. So far they have performed well. But the results are genuine I assure you. I appreciate your comments. Thanks for taking the time to share your input, it helps me learn how to do better.
What was the song at 4:15? Sounded like a remix of Sasha!
Kelton Graham I have a bag. I’ll do it
To be fair, when I've purchased Fogo or JD - they cost more than twice what I pay for B&B
Me too
Like me some lump. Folks saying lumps for chumps can bugger off am I rite???
Lump rocks. So does the briquettes
The way I crank up my BGE the B&B lacks a lot. Took forever for them to get going. Royal Oak....cranked up almost immediately. Sorry....I am sticking with the Made in USA Royal Oak.
Thanks for watching!
@@FLYINGSMOKE But that doesn't mean I'm not going to subscribe to your channel. 👍
Much appreciated!
The temp reading is compromised by the fact that the grate is thermally reflecting the temp of either charcoal. Now that that's said carry on.
Will do. And thank you for watching and sharing my videos
You should do jealous devil versus Meathead lump charcoal
What does B and B use for a binder in the bricketts
I asked my friends at B&B, here is their reply: B&B uses only about 10% corn starch binder. Some companies use rice or wheat which contain gluten. Corn is gluten free.
There are no other additives in our briquettes. The big companies use industrial scrap sawdust, manufacturing waste wood, mineral char (limestone, coal, and granite) sodium nitrate, and borax. B&B is 100% oak char with a little corn starch binder. You will always get consistent BTU’s and predictable smoke flavors with B&B briquettes!!
@@FLYINGSMOKE thank you so much !!!!!
Where can I get BB lump in memphis ? I’m in Germantown
Frederick byram same place I get mine sir... Academy at Wolfchase. The briquettes are $8.99, the lump variety is around 10
Where can I get bb lump in Las Vegas?
I get mine at academy sports but I don’t think they are in LAS. Check out their website and shoot them an email. They will have the distributor near you. I hope that helps
Thanks for your great reviews, I'm new and love your videos. Grill grates - I literally just made an order thanks to this gentleman and his B&B vs Kingsford Charcoal review. Sponsor him!
I’ll show Brad next time I see him! He is a real nice man. And thank you for watching
I wouldn't mind seeing you do a video on Rockwood charcoal
I have used it. Good charcoal, I’ll see what I can do. Thank y’all for watching!
Another great video. I really like the banner. Do you bring to comps with you?
Jonathan Hicks I’ve got it up now in Arlington TN!
Why does some lump charcoal keep poping?
I’ve heard that it’s too dry or a host of other reasons. I’d have to ask B&B. And I will at the SCA World Championship in Fort Worth in March.
How about B&B mesquite lump?
I’ll look
Nicely done !! Going to get me some B&B 👍🏻 I wonder what pitmaster X would say ?
Big Time Barbecue not sure sir, but thank you for your comments!
Always been a fan of B&B. Great video, keep em coming.
RNEW BBQ thank you so much for watching!
It’s all good. Heck bbq on a bad rainy day beats working!
I have both the PK classic and 360. For long cooks ash is an issue where the bottom vent can be overwhelmed and nearly choked, particularly on the 360. I just switched to B&B and don’t have any long cooks yet but based on your videos I’m confident B&B will yield better results.
Thank you. I’ve had awesome results. It’s hard to not be biased but I do try. I am amazed at the difference between wood and products
You should show bb with a steak and how it looks for sca. No secrets like rubs, just how it cooks
Now that I can do.
I just cant get passed the price of bb and red devil n fogo...
I agree that Red Devilis a bit pricey. But B&B is 9 bucks a bag at academy sports. And as it burns so much longer it’s more than a bargain it’s a great tool to add to your cooking kit.
B&B BABY!!!LETZ GOOO!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice comparison! You should do Jealous Devil vs B&B next.
Smoked Midwest BBQ thank you for watching. We have had tons of rain here in Memphis, but that is on my todo list
I just can't get Band B in my area. < North Florida and South Alabama.
FRED WILEY I am sure sorry to hear that. But with SCA steak 🥩 spreading like a swarm it’s on the way
I just log onto "ACE Hardware" website and order it--they have it available. I just received my order of 3 bags of B&B charcoal briquettes this week.
FRED WILEY Try Ace hardware.
I tried B&B last night. It gave off a fireworks display lol not pleasant.
I think they may have changed the formula when it was bought out Duraflame
Great informative video. So I will try the same experiment using B&B lump, and Jealous Devil lump (Amazon for home delivery) .
spacedoutcowboy I’ve got a bag of the Devil. It’s coming up! Let me know how it goes
@@FLYINGSMOKE
Will do. The one thing I find helpful is lining my charcoal grate with 1/4 stainless steel mesh, which catches the small pebble and reused charcoal.
@@spacedoutcowboy8621 s.o.c I like that idea. I have some grate on hand of that size and I'm going to see how it works for me. Thanks...
Welcome
NO one will way it for competition...but if you are going to do a comparison, you need all things equal for the test. Also, aiming an inferred temp gauge through grill grates will get you the temp of the grates, not the charcoal. Again, weighing is SOOOOOO important when you want to do a temp comparison. More fuel means more heat.
Thanks for the upload, great informative video.. I really need to get some B&B charcoal but it seems they don't have in my city? Greeting from,
Los Angeles, CALI…
Order at Ace hardware, they can get you their full line of charcoal
Plus free delivery to the store. $17.99 for 20 lb.
I found a boot with a foot in it at the bottom of my bag of royal oak lump. They have terrible working conditions there.
Where can you get B&B?
I get it at Academy sports here in Tennessee. It’s moving it’s way to you, but you can check out their website for specific areas
B and B $40 for 20lbs / Red Oak $16 for a 30lb bag. Not enough difference for me to pay $20 more
You gotta use what works best for you. Thanks for watching
$40 for B&B? Did you buy it on rodeo drive in Beverly hills LOL I just bought a 20 lb bag of B&B lump at Ace hardware for $18 in SoCal.
I pay $9 at academy
Can you review Weber Briquettes? I love them, but I’m no expert.
Brian Stanart I have a bag. I like them... pricey though
