This may sound crazy, but I love mucking stalls. I did it when I was young at a place I went riding at and the owner found out I was saving my lunch money to go riding every weekend so he asked if I wanted to help clean up around his stables and I could ride as often as I wanted. I rode all the time but found joy in cleaning up after the animals I loved so much.
Lester, When I Boarded my Horses at the Stables in my town, I cleaned their stalls every morning before work and every evening when I got off work. One of my Horses hated a dirty stall so much, she would go to the bathroom out the Stall window. It was the funniest thing to see, she was that picky and very spoiled.❤

In high school my daughter took a job mucking stalls and LOVED IT!!!! She could be around the horses and that filled her heart. Eventually they saw how good she was with the horses and she got to care for them, exercise and ride them (she already knew how to ride). Having a horse is still an unfulfilled dream for her ( mid 40's)... but back then she continued to care for them as she also mucked stalls - understanding it was all part of horse life.
Lester as you was driving up ……seeing all those longhorns laying out in the pasture made me remember when you talked about having a herd of longhorns . It seems as if it was just yesterday !!!

Well it is obvious her limp comes her front right hoof. She either is still sore or she something in her hoof again! I watch the hoof doctor and I never realized how many things can happen to a hoof! Even though been on a farm, I have been very surprised these last few years when it comes to cow hooves. But if something was in there, it must have dislodged. She looks much better! Horse manure is very praised fertiliser! If there's still a shortage of fertiliser you can always collect your horse manure and spread it, or even sell it to gardeners, and make all that work of cleaning the stalls worth it! ❤❤❤❤

You don't want it to "dry" out. Compost needs to be kept moist.
