Funny how sam's is like "we don't know if jim carrey is gonna come back" and literally an hour later an interview comes out where jim says he is down participating on the next movie
Besides blowing up the planet and committing mass genocide, the most fucked up thing Gerald has done was full-on say to his only living grandchild, basically saying you don't matter to me, like the way Maria mattered to me. That sentence confirms that if Gerald had been alive in SA2 when Eggman thought that would his grandfather blow up the world with his living family still on, would he even care about them or him? The sad answer was yes because, in the movie, Gerald said that once Maria died, any living family he had was dead to him
When you think about it, in Shadow Gens there's no mention whatsoever of Eggman in Gerald's journal, so he either wasn't born at the time or Gerald was THAT hyperfocused on Maria. Not to mention he became more and more distant from his family the more time passed, to the point he scratched "my son and [his wife]" and corrected it as "Maria's parents". With all due honesty, Gerald forsaking his family and all of humanity to avenge Maria is both in-character and consistent to SA2's Last Story.
Sonic 3 was honestly a great retelling AND subversion of Sonic Adventure 2. It got to the heart of Shadow's story all while ironing out the kinks of SA2's plot all while adding new twists and surprises. The writers did a great job making the story work within the context of the previous two films.
I disagree that it was a great retelling. You can definitely say they retold it in the most bare bones way possible, yeah. I'm fine with change, but they didn't change Maria and Shadow's story. They basically just took it out of SA2, cut key moments out, and didn't replace them. It's a very butchered version of the story, is what I'm saying, especially Maria's character. She doesn't have the sickness that keeps her on the ark, nor is she on the arc at all so her dream to go on earth is gone. They got rid of all her hopes and aspirations. Her entire character has been watered down to "nice girl Shadow knew" I know Maria in the games doesn't have a bunch of depth either, but her character and dreams were still very important to not only the story but Shadow's character in general. Maria didn't even get to ask Shadow to give everyone a chance to be happy. Hell, they didn't even give her any final words they just blew her up and moved on.
Actions being “out of character” literally means nothing when dealing with an adaptation. We have to remember that these characters are separate of the games and have different experiences and mindsets. It’s totally believable that movie sonic would take those actions.
Exactly, its not out of character when one version acts differently from another because the ENTIRE point is that it's supposed to be different. If they wanted to write game Sonic, they would have made it about game Sonic and make it canon or smth.
That is called an “opinion” and there are going to be many people that would disagree. I don’t think it’s insane if people want a Sonic movie to have a Sonic that acts like Sonic. There is not a universal rulebook on adaptations. Some people will be okay with his character being different but it’s definitely understandable if there are people who aren’t.
Well, even in the games Ivo sometimes teamed with the good guys if there was world-ending threat. His reasoning for this is pretty simple - I can´t rule over the world if there is NO world.
Movie Sonic has entirely different experiences from the games and on top of that, interpreted as being younger initially in this adaption. He got tossed into entirely different world with no one as a child, for ten years. There's no Tails or Knuckles pre-established, it's Tom and Maddie who take him in to give him the bond and knowledge he lacks at the start (Which is why I personally wouldn't like to see either humans go away). So those kinds of experience is just going to shape Sonic differently, not "out of character".
I don't understand when the dude says that Sonic hearing lessons from Tom is "baby-ing".Sonic is supposed to be 14 or 15 in this movie, that's not too old to hear lessons from your guardians. Besides, if Superman can go to the kent farm and talk with his parents and go out there renewed, I don't see why Movie Sonic needs to be done with Tom and Maddie. Besides, Tom wasn't even giving lessons, he just told Sonic he was proud and that in life he just needed to be true to himself, they were having a heart to heart.
@@ThePunisherSpiderfinally I found my people. People do not understand Movie Sonic. He is not the same as Game Sonic, while they do share core traits like their cockiness, extroverted and adventurous nature, they have had different experiences and on top of that Movie Sonic is younger. He and Tom have this established father son dynamic, he’s not being babied. He also has a character arc where we see him grow in size, age and maturity
You have no idea how happy I feel whenever I see you collab with GamesCage and chaomix. No cap, you should all have a monthly podcast or something because the way you all talk about Sonic or other media and the chemistry with all 3 of you could work immensely.
(1:09:39) The fact Shadow brings up *TOM*, after looking guilty for attacking the wrong person (Walters) just moments earlier, tells me Shadow only did that to get Sonic MAD ENOUGH to WANT to KILL HIM. I think Shadow was feeling very morally conflicted & guilty for everything he did by that point & even WANTED Sonic to kill him because he probably thought he had nothing to "live for," anyway (As pointed out, Shadow knew Gerald's Plan meant he would die, anyway.). It's also the only time Shadow "wastes time" to taunt Sonic during a fight with him, too. Add to the fact Shadow actually looked "happy" asking Sonic to finish him makes me think Shadow didn't really care all that much to win the fight (Like Shadow never considers taking off his Limiters Rings if he really wanted to win.). Shadow, even at his most "Evil" in this Movie, I don't think he would be bringing up Tom just for the sake of "being a jerk," unless there was an ULTERIOR MOTIVE behind it (Wanting to get Sonic to want to kill him because he wanted to die.). Remember before Shadow goes Super for the 1st time, Sonic said "I'm nothing like you," to which Shadow responds, "We shall see," suggesting Shadow was already 'testing' Sonic to see if he would go down the same path of vengeance as he did (Kill those who wronged you or your loved ones.).
I believe this too. At that point in time, Maria was the only person who could truly make Shadow happy. So Shadow didn't really care whether he lived or died at that point in time until Sonic helped him see the light.
Funnily enough, after rewatching it and listening. It sounds like Shadow wasn't even mocking Tom's name. It sounds like he was genuinely trying to remember his name. Like, the way he said "Tom" wasn't mocking or sarcastic, it sounded like he was actually trying to recall his name. Which makes me think Shadow was only mocking Sonic for making the same choice of seeking vengeance as he did and then when he mentioned Tom, Sonic snapped and Shadow didn't expect it, given the brief look of surprise on his face right before Sonic blitzed him to the moon.
@@mlgamings6110 I don't think Shadow mocked Tom, either. He just said his name, but I think Shadow knew just by bringing up Tom would upset Sonic enough to do something 'extreme.' Doesn't mean Shadow would know what Sonic would do once he got him that mad, hence Shadow's look of "surprise."
So excited to see your full spoiler review! I absolutely loved the movie it was perfect for me as a fan of both the Sonic series and the character of Shadow!
Sonic 3 moves fast which leads me to believe it has a LOT of deleted scenes, so I hope one day we’d get Sonic 3 DX it’d be a cool adventure DX reference
A. Is that chaomix and Games Cage (Fadel)?! 😱 B. The movie is phenomenal! The music references, the dynamic between Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, Best Hedgehog (Shadow), post credits! AAAAAAAAAAH! 🤩 C. Happy New Year Sam Procrastinates!
Ok, major movie theory. Gerald keeping Shadow’s quill was his influence towards his insanity and long lasting life. Picture this, Movie Shadow is organic, alien, and chaos energized from the black comet. Let’s say the Hollywood version of these changes is to facilitate the difference of power of Sonic’s origins versus Shadows. Movie Maria isn’t sick, but her bond with Shadow is more emphatic towards the movies themes of family. Gerald had Shadow’s quill in secret. While he worked for GUN in the 70’s, I don’t think he was evil, but once he started extending his life through the chaos energy of Shadow’s quill, he realized the key to immortality. So, even tho Maria wasn’t sick, he became corrupted by the influence of the chaos energy, then when Maria died, he was driven mad in isolation, feeding off the quill’s power for 50 years, until he launched his plan to use Shadow for revenge. It isn’t until Sonic is able to establish a connection with Shadow through his shared family trauma that he has a change of heart. But, Eggman is no Maria. This is the difference between the two relationships. Eggman could not truly connect with loss with his Grandfather. However, he has also been changed by Sonic’s quill, a part of him longed for connections, but denied it throughout the movie. However, his final message to Agent Stone proves that the influence did affect him. It’s the new quill of Sonic, one with the power of bonds he’s gained through his newfound family.
13:37 the storyboard artists that worked on this movie also worked on the Rise of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show AND movie, which explains most of the action sequences are dope
Keanu Reeves' Shadow the Hedgehog might be my *favorite* interpretation of the character ever. Yeah it's Keanu's just using his normal voice but it WORKS. Shadow is the perfect example of how to write a sympathetic antagonist. His arc is a great emotional core that ties back to Sonic's characterization. And his relationship with Maria, played nicely by Alyla Browne, is so heartfelt & heartbreaking at the same time. God I wish there was more. With the confirmation he survived the final battle, I can't wait to see him return.
I didn’t think Live and Learn on the guitar would make me actually tear up twice but it definitely did! They built up that song so well I’m so happy more people can now be introduced to that amazing song
Awesome collab, Sam!!! Sonic Movie 3 is an amazing movie with so much heart love, and emotion!!! An amazing holiday gift for everyone!!! I really like your "It's 8 in the morning" shirt that I got too!!!
I absolutely love Sonic The Hedgehog 3 so much it is the best Sonic movie yet. They did such a good job with the voice acting, story, and quality of the animation. I especially love how well Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles all work so well as a team. Sonic is a lot more grown up and he seems so much more focused on the mission while at the same time being that silly fast blue hedgehog that we all love.
a cool detail i love is that at the start of maria's death when you get the wide zoom out shot of them, shadow's side profile is slightly altered to look more like sonic's, going even further into the parallel between maria and longclaw, and how sonic could've very easily grown up to be like shadow if it wasn't for tom but eventually starts going down the same dark path anyway after tom's "death"
Sam I have been following your videos since that first teaser for the first sonic movie came out with that raccoon looking thing. I’ve been invested in your channel since the cinema con news for Sonic 3 and I just wanna say how much fun I’ve had watching your videos since then following this movie which was a love letter to Sonic fans. Cheers bro 💙
Im not the best with words but wow.. what an amazing time, this franchise means a lot to me, and seeing how far it’s gone and to get a third movie in a live cinematic universe that I feel is easily the best and most fun one yet. It’s hard to say cause with movies I need to watch them at least two or three times to remember all the details and to see how I fully feel, and while I do have issues and while I’m not the biggest fan with how they did two or three things, plus being nit picky there’s a lot of flaws again. Aside that tho this is easily the best one yet, I went to see this in 4dX and man was it a fun ride. I could go on for ages about lots of little things and cool moments that happen, but I’m sure everyone knows all the scenes I’m on about. Cool and sweet story, fun characters, amazing action, looks incredible, music is lovely, this was such a fun movie! I could not recommend it more if you’re a fan of sonic and if you like the previous movies. Ty SEGA, Paramount, Jeff fowler and the talented artists, voice actors and all who worked on these films so far. I can’t describe how happy I am for sonic franchise/universe. 💙❤️
Nothing makes me more happy than to see my three favorite hedgehog obsessed people talking about my 2 favorite hedgehogs. To be honest that sentence sounded better in my head but I’m keeping it anyway because it’s funny. I can’t stop thinking about this goddamn piece of art called sonic 3, I’m watching it again next week and I can’t wait until it comes out in streaming so I can watch it every day.
Sonic being that vulnerable and getting briefly driven by revenge might not be what we usually see, but it fit this younger version of the character and anything less would have dialled down the drama. Plus, Sonic as an incorruptible paragon of cool good vibes can work in a video game, but in a movie and especially a franchise, you have to challenge it somehow otherwise the audience will get bored of it.
Fadel saying Eggman says goodbye to Shadow in Italian actually made me feral. They were watching telenovelas in the movie, Fadel. LATINAS!? THEY ARE SPEAKING SPANISH, FADEL. SHADOW LOVES LATINAS, FADEL!
One thing I wanted to add was after seeing the movie I saw a kid who ran up to the top of the stairs and got in the starting running position like sonic as he went down the steps as fast as he could and it was so sweet, warmed my heart and made my day along side the movie. So happy all these ids will grow up and enjoying this series 💙
I think the reason they gave Amy the "Jedi cloak" in the post-credits is because they might legit still be deciding what outfit to give her cause, yeah, out all the main cast she needs a redesign *the most* I'm sure they'll try to keep it faithful to the original, but I honestly wouldn't mind it if they changed her outfit to be more in line with the Sonic Boom version, as that one was basically perfect.
The speculation for the future of these movies kind of gets me hyped. If the next movie is a Sonic CD adaptation (introducing Amy and Metal Sonic), then the timeline could be: 1. Sonic Heroes (introducing Team Chaotix, Rouge and Omega etc.as well as giving us Neo Metal) 2. Shadow The Hedgehog 05' (A solo movie for Shadow to adapt the events of that game) 3. Sonic 06' (Trimming down the original game's plot SIGNIFICANTLY and keeping only the good bits. Namely Silver, Blaze and literally the best villain in the franchise *Mephiles* ) The idea that they *just might* be treating 06' in particular as this cinematic universe's "Infinity War" is wild. The only one I can't place is Adventure 1. It just feels weird for them to cover Shadow before Chaos's story and the story of why the Echidnas disappeared. Yeah, Shadow is infinately more popular and having this story, which is closely related to Eggman, be Jim Carrey's swan song potentially makes total sense. But it still leaves us in the awkward position where Adventure 1 has no *natural* slot to be adapted in. MAYBE they will fuse the 4th movie's Sonic CD plot with Adventure 1, but only time will tell...
The ideal thing for me would be for Shadow to get a side-series where Rouge and Omega are introduced so covering Heroes elements in Sonic 4 feels more complete, then the next movie be about 06 stuff and have a side series prequel or sequel focusing on Silver & Blaze's future
Literally my only gripe with this movie, a nitpick really, is that Jim Carrey, as amazing as he is and as suprisingly dark as they went with Ivo & Gerald, was a bit of a double-edged sword. He steals every scene he's in ,sure, but he also lowkey steals some of Shadow's thunder too. And considering this movie basically marketed itself as an adaptation of Adventure 2; people, understandibly, went in expecting it to be more his movie than Eggman's. This is a *really small* nitpick mind you, Shadow isn't hurting for screentime or anything and his character was done justice, but I think that extra 10-20 minutes they cut could have served to give him just a little bit more and maybe do things with the duality between him and Sonic they just didn't touch on much.
I agree, another thing I kinda wished that was included was Shadow’s promise to Maria and the way he misunderstands it on the present after being trapped for 50 years. Here in the movie there seems to be no promise which was kinda of a bummer for me personally. But that aside I had a great time in the movie :D
That's my one issue with the film too, Jim Carrey ended up stealing alot of the spotlight away from shadow and the rest of the cast. I honestly hated the fight scene between the robotniks, since it undermines the emotional payoff of shadows arc by immediately cutting away to goofy Jim Carrey hijinks. IMO, once the eclipse cannon was launched into orbit, the movie should've ditched the comedy and played the climax straight. Gerald especially should not have had any sort of comedic angle to him post reveal, completely saps the weight out of his character if he goes right back to slapstick shenanigans right after revealing his true intentions.
@@superlagbro192 While I agree for the most part, I think the moon gag should stay. That "OH...Look what you did!" to Tails and Knuckles had me dying 😂
I don't like think Sonic being anger driven and breaking his oath with his team was too out of character in the movie. He's a teenager and shouldn't be expected to always be in the right. Tom even tells him in their conversation that everyone, including Sonic, will make bad choices as they journey through life. The message of the movie is about making right choices, particularly those when it comes to coping with negative emotions. So I think giving him a moment where he betrays his own principles really humanizes him. I like that he was shown to be vulnerable to letting his emotions get the better of him. I've seen comments that him abusing the master emerald and having this all out duel with Shadow felt like the Dark Sonic arc we could have had in the anime had it not been aborted so quickly. In the end, when he gets the upper hand, he realizes the hypocrisy of his actions when Shadow _begs him_ to finish him off. He brings himself back from the brink, telling himself "What am i doing? This isn't me." Shadow is hurting just like him and "there are no winners with revenge." Again, I found the whole scene to be very humanizing for Sonic, and also for Shadow. Sonic calms down and finally does what he really wanted to do with Shadow since they first met, just talk, and share his own story about loss. I called it when I first saw trailer when Walters says that Sonic and Shadow had similar beginnings in their stories: that _Sonic_ would set up to be the one who would get through to Shadow in the end. I loved the fight scene and I teared up at the resolution of it when the sun rises and Shadow repeats his words about the stars with Sonic by his side in Maria's place.
For 110 years old, Gerald was moving quite a bit. I lost it when he said “push the button.”😂 IMO , I think this is one of Jim Carrey’s biggest highlights of his movie career.
26:30 now that you mention it, will we get cream and cheese too? Like maybe its just cream we get but it would feel weird without cheese, my head-cannon is simular to fadels that the founder of the chao garden found the chao but maybe the founder was wondering around in a place nicknamed “the mystic ruins”when he finds an area where he finds chao’s. If yall want comment down below on how you think chao’s could be in the movie universe
I'm so glad that we've come a long way since the first trailer with sonic's original design, it proof that Paramount is showing loyalty and dedication to the fans. Knowing Jeff Fowler is no stranger to Sonic as he had a history with development with Shadow's spin off game is an instant W to the franchise, The third film is absolutely fantastic 10/10. And I can't wait for the fourth movie now that they teased Metal Sonic and Amy Rose.
3 intelligent men, in there own environments, talking about a blue hedgehog orange fox red echidna and black hedgehog. I love it keep blessing the community guys💙
small thing but one thing i love about this movie is that they make the motorcycle and by extension the guns make more sense, not only can shadow teleport with the motorcycle but he uses his chaos powers to supercharge the motorcycle, making it faster than he is. that is freaking genius! overall, i wish this movie was a little closer to the game but it's still a great watch! i think the super fight was a more than fair replacement for the biolizard and i hope they keep leaning into the DBZ vibes and making each movie closer and closer to the games. edit: the fact that this movie came out before a proper DBZ movie is wild and makes me feel like we're living in an alternate timeline lol
what if the Amy we saw is the Amy in the future where her hair is down and stuff but during Sonic 4's flashback, we got to see Classic Amy's design and her relation with Metal and how she knows Sonic
Oh, trust me, this isn't the first time he mistakes Spanish for Italian. He did the same when he watched the latin american version of the trailer lmao
I do feel like the movie goes by a bit too fast. The point that stood out to me was when Walters tells Shadow's back story, like he just gets straight into it as soon as he appears. It was rather jarring. I do like the changes personally. Whilst removing a lot of the Maria aspect does takeaway from Shadow, it is a lot easier for people to comprehend, and it just focuses on the essentials. Shadow not having moments with Gerald adds to Gerald just seeing him as a tool. I like this character adaptation. I like that they added more layers to the characters. I like that they're learning and growing, and they push more the brotherly dynamic. This movie does feel separate from the previous movies. Like GUN being created after the events of movie 1, but they retcon that so Shadow knows who they are. Shadow also doesn't fit with the movies, and I don't know if Chaos will appear. Hopefully, he will as I want the Echidnas to get a proper resolution. I wonder how they're going to move forward. Metal Sonic is the most interesting with the Terminator thing, but I'm still uncertain. It still feels weird how they handled. I was really thrown off, and that was the main thing I didn't like. I was caught off guard, and I don't like how Metal was handled. If they're making a Shadow movie, Black Doom is the villain. It's the only real Shadow villain in terms of games, and it makes sense. I'm interested to see what they do going forward. I'm interested in Movie 4. I think it will just be Amy and Metal. Now it's just seeing what happens with the games. Hopefully, the blue ray adds a bit more.
Theres one wierd plot-hole in this movie: When Shadow and Sonic talk on the moon Sonic mentions Mari but her name is never started around him, he only sees a image of her and Shadow. He probrably could have learned off-screen but that doesn't change that it's wierd...
I saw the film on the 25th at around like 7 pm on Christmas Day! I watched it with my whole family, and everyone even my older brother loved it. They just loved the humor, and shadow as a character. I think I turned my family into sonic fans. I definitely will rewatch it when it comes out digitally on like UA-cam or paramount plus.
13:07 I guess Fadel must've been a bit too high on the hype for saying that because Shadow's first instinct upon them landing was THROWING A CAR AT THEM LMAO
Reason why the storyboarding is so much better this time, is that a couple of the storyboard artists on this movie also worked on Rise of the TMNT ( the legendary Kevin Molina-Ortiz, who also worked on Dark Beginnings, and JJ Conway, who also worked on TMNT 2012 and TMNT vs Batman).
a game-to-movie change i really enjoyed was shadow was born from a comet and not created. almost makes it even easier for them to introduce the black arms
55:33 to be fair, dark spine is partially the result of sonic giving into his anger and sadness over a death. So I wouldn't say it's out of character for movie sonic to the same.
Not to mention none of Sonic’s closest friends like Tails ever almost died in front of him. The comparison doesn’t make sense to me, because being taken over by a dark power and staying the same person compared to someone you love almost being murdered are two different situations imo. Especially with a Sonic who literally had a mental breakdown in the first film. I don’t know what’s so surprising. I can understand not agreeing with this take on him and I still respect peoples opinions regardless but yeah that point makes no sense to me.
I am so happy the Sonic universe is understanding how fucking raw characters posing up in front of the destroyed moon is. Dark Beginnings and now this. I hope we keep this trend going.
What I like about this film was how they managed to balance the Zaniness with the more serious moments and that finale actually made me cry especially Robotnik’s “Death Scene” dude it always gets me. Also if Eggman is dead, it would be cool to see Agent Stone be the main human villain for the next film. He has that zany energy like Eggman but more subtle and I can see him going insane. People do like agent stone and I think he’s one of the best original Sonic characters they have made and PETITION to make him canon to the sonic games.
I also accept this universe as it's own thing. Like how MCU Spider-Man isn't 1 to 1 the Spider-Man we expect. I like that they give Sonic room to grow as a character, and they don't keep him as a static protagonist, like how they have done in the games
Captain Rockwell was the writer's explanation for why Sonic and friends had to break into GUN even though Walters backed him. If Walters was alive and Rockwell wasn't in command, Sonic wouldn't have to bypass the shield. Notice how she disappears immediately after the GUN headquarters isn't a plot point anymore.
Part of me thinks they're also setting her up for a possible Shadow05 storyline, since having a commander who's sympathetic towards Shadow wouldn't make that much of a sense.
When Gerald comes to take shadow and Maria to escape he actually yells "kids!" So that one line makes me think that Gerald was probably good in some way, to see shadow as his kid the way he did Maria
I could have watched a 3 hour version of this video. It was SOO interesting. I wanted to hear more about what everyone liked & didn't like about the movie. Chaomix should definitely make a video about the Sonic V Knuckles part he was talking about. I think Fadel wanted to say something about it but they moved on. Overall this video was REALLY fun, I've been waiting for this video since the movie release. These 3 need to cover every Sonic content that comes out.
An army of Metal Sonics, with different models of Metal Sonic, time travel like the Terminator: you are describing a lot of stuff that happened in Sonic The Comic 30 years ago...
29:18 I've been thinking with Dark Beginnings and now Sonic 3 that the white flower field reminds me a lot of a similar looking field that Sonic takes Helen to during episode 14 of Sonic X. I wonder if they were taking inspiration from that episode.
I’m genuinely questioning on how anyone is beating this movie. My favorite scene has got to be the Super Battle. It’s was just to peak. I was literally screaming that entire 25 minutes of the movie.
50:29 I believe that theory was definitely warranted. Since they were still willing to have Maria, a child, die in this movie, there could have been a reality where they were willing to off Tom. It could have happened. I don't think the ending would have felt as good if that were the direction, but I wouldn't put it past them. Ultimately I believe if we are eventually going to leave Tom and Maddie behind, there should be a heartfelt goodbye between them and their adopted speedy son.
I was shocked with how game accurate Metal Sonic was. While my hype for Sonic Movie 4 is not as high as my hype was for Sonic Movie 3 (this is solely because we are going from a movie about my favorite character to a movie that isn't about my favorite character) I am still very hyped.
Probaly could have been show or explain better, but in my head I rationalized GUN letting Gerald out they just thought he wouldnt live much past that. In all his shots he is always hidng that Shadow quill he has and we know from the Jeff interview that licking the quill and getting shocked with chaos emergy was what was keeping him alive for so long.
Yeah pretty much "Oh, we already disgraced him as a scientist to the public, has no resources, had his spirit broken after the accident and he's old af, I'm sure he's no threat to us anymore" and then Gerald said "BET".
Sonic taking the emerald makes sense because the theme of the story is about pain and choices, sonic makes bad choices, but he doesn't let the pain change him at his core and in the end makes the right choice. The themes and lessons of this story are signposted very blatantly.
Sonic Movie 3 is the best in the trilogy and honestly if Jim Carrey doesn’t return for movie 4 I would be fine with that especially with the way Eggman went out during the movies climax. Obviously I’d prefer Jim Carrey returning for movie 4 but I’d ok if he doesn’t.
If Jim Carrey wants to be in another Sonic movie, I really hope it's as Eggman Nega (they're going to need to find him another name, though). I see a lot of potential for 'Nega' as the OG Eggman's foil to be the exact opposite of him, and to go on reversed story arc that the latter went through the first trilogy. This would explain Metal Sonic's creation/mass production via time travel, Agent Stone's could have an interesting side-plot where he essentially rejects this Eggman (I can easily see him following Eggman's steps *cough* *cough* ), and we could get Blaze the Cat into the movie franchise. Although that probably means saying good bye to the 'Sol Dimension' for the sake of time travel and streamlining, similar to Shadow's backstory.
My theory for sonic 4 is. Gun got tired of sonic and friends and wanted a way to defend against them if any of them went rogue. They made the first metal sonic it went rogue and started mass producing itself and took over the world. Amy is actually from the future maybe with sliver and they are trying to stop gun from making the first metal sonic in the past. And in the future neo metal sonic is sending his army to ensure the first metal sonic is built.
One thing i really like abt the Sonic 3 movie is the re-watchability of it. The first 2 movies were good but I found myself bored after the fjrst watch. I can already tell i’ll be watching this movie again so many times when it comes digitally

Happy new year !!!🎉🎉
Happy New Year!!
Happy new year
Surprisingly a perfect day to give a spoiler review, Sam.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Nothing makes me feel more entertained than 3 men talking about a blue rodent for an hour and 43 minutes
Except these 3 men aren't your average ordinary men, these 3 men are GOATS.
These three men are 🔛🔝
This video is almost as long as the movie 😭🙏
He's not a RAT! He's a HEDGEHOG!
Hedgehogs aren't rodents.
Funny how sam's is like "we don't know if jim carrey is gonna come back" and literally an hour later an interview comes out where jim says he is down participating on the next movie
Wait, what??? Where can I find this interview? I looked but I’m having trouble.

Agreed!
i actually believe sonic WOULD do that in the games
That is called an “opinion” and there are going to be many people that would disagree. I don’t think it’s insane if people want a Sonic movie to have a Sonic that acts like Sonic. There is not a universal rulebook on adaptations. Some people will be okay with his character being different but it’s definitely understandable if there are people who aren’t.
@@partonca4916 If they don't like the Movie characterizations, maybe they just shouldn't watch the movies.
Ivo/Eggman lived as a villain, but died(?) long enough to see himself become a *hero.*
What. An. Arc.
More like... Ark!!! 🥁
Yesss, exactly, Movie Sonic is a completely different character from game Sonic, which I personally really enjoy. 🙌🏾😃
@@rickyronny4019 i think movie sonic might be BETTER than game sonic, because he is dynamic and evolves.
@ yes. I like seeing a younger and childish Sonic go through g a character arc
You have no idea how happy I feel whenever I see you collab with GamesCage and chaomix.
No cap, you should all have a monthly podcast or something because the way you all talk about Sonic or other media and the chemistry with all 3 of you could work immensely.
Plsss sam! A monthly podcast would be goated
@@mlgamings6110 True.
Yeah this movie felt like "Sonic: No Hedgehog Home" movie like Spiderman No Way Home

B. The movie is phenomenal! The music references, the dynamic between Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, Best Hedgehog (Shadow), post credits! AAAAAAAAAAH! 🤩
The part about Gerald using shadows quill to live longer is actually true! There’s a deleted scene explaining it
Oh my god, these movies might be more well-layered and well thought-out than I thought.
I love him, too!
I didn’t think Live and Learn on the guitar would make me actually tear up twice but it definitely did! They built up that song so well I’m so happy more people can now be introduced to that amazing song

Crazy how this review is just as long as the movie and just as peak as it also BEST COLLAB
1 hour review yeah we’re in for a treat
a cool detail i love is that at the start of maria's death when you get the wide zoom out shot of them, shadow's side profile is slightly altered to look more like sonic's, going even further into the parallel between maria and longclaw, and how sonic could've very easily grown up to be like shadow if it wasn't for tom but eventually starts going down the same dark path anyway after tom's "death"
The 3 sonic fan youtuber’s are back
The review is almost as long as the movie itself...
This is precisely why I subscribe, Sam.
This review was definitely worth the wait. The movie was so peak and it was great listening to all your's opinions and all.
A pity Evan, formerly from Tailschannel, ain't present here. Always love how analytical and observent he is.
I think the reason they gave Amy the "Jedi cloak" in the post-credits is because they might legit still be deciding what outfit to give her cause, yeah, out all the main cast she needs a redesign *the most*
I'm sure they'll try to keep it faithful to the original, but I honestly wouldn't mind it if they changed her outfit to be more in line with the Sonic Boom version, as that one was basically perfect.
If they make the skirt of her dress more flowy than the disk-like shape it maintains in the games, that’d be fine.
Honestly just have her wear shorts under the skirt if THATS what they’re really worried about lol
Makes no difference to me 🤷
They’ll likely use her dress and just add more detailing to it
The speculation for the future of these movies kind of gets me hyped.
If the next movie is a Sonic CD adaptation (introducing Amy and Metal Sonic), then the timeline could be:
1. Sonic Heroes (introducing Team Chaotix, Rouge and Omega etc.as well as giving us Neo Metal)
2. Shadow The Hedgehog 05' (A solo movie for Shadow to adapt the events of that game)
3. Sonic 06' (Trimming down the original game's plot SIGNIFICANTLY and keeping only the good bits. Namely Silver, Blaze and literally the best villain in the franchise *Mephiles* )
The idea that they *just might* be treating 06' in particular as this cinematic universe's "Infinity War" is wild.
The possibilities in the Sonic Movie Universe are sure endless, man.
The Knuckles show would have been the perfect place to slot adventure 1 in, but alas.
@@superlagbro192 a blessing in disguise. I do NOT want half of an Adventure 1 adaptation to just be Wade :v
this is what ive been waiting for...
The movie came out today in my country and I just saw it a few hours ago. It was insane.
Valid nitpick actually.
@@superlagbro192 Especially with that kinda weird way Gerald is defeated. Idk if it is only me but it felt anticlimactic. . .
@@superlagbro192 While I agree for the most part, I think the moon gag should stay. That "OH...Look what you did!" to Tails and Knuckles had me dying 😂

*STARTING OF 2025 WITH A BANGER I SEE*
Watching this at the fan event on the 19th was an unbeatable experience, glad to see others loved it too; going to see it a second time today!
I dont know if anyone noticed, i could be wrong but when eggman gets called on his phone, you hear his adventure theme song

I'm so glad that we've come a long way since the first trailer with sonic's original design, it proof that Paramount is showing loyalty and dedication to the fans. Knowing Jeff Fowler is no stranger to Sonic as he had a history with development with Shadow's spin off game is an instant W to the franchise, The third film is absolutely fantastic 10/10. small thing but one thing i love about this movie is that they make the motorcycle and by extension the guns make more sense, not only can shadow teleport with the motorcycle but he uses his chaos powers to supercharge the motorcycle, making it faster than he is. that is freaking genius! overall, i wish this movie was a little closer to the game but it's still a great watch! i think the super fight was a more than fair replacement for the biolizard and i hope they keep leaning into the DBZ vibes and making each movie closer and closer to the games.
edit: the fact that this movie came out before a proper DBZ movie is wild and makes me feel like we're living in an alternate timeline lol
what if the Amy we saw is the Amy in the future where her hair is down and stuff

Hopefully, the blue ray adds a bit more.
yeah I think the first act pacing is fast, its not terrible but everything does happen pretty damn quickly lol
Call me sonic origins the way this is a collection. Now but seriously great to see all three of y’all together to yap about our favourite marsupials

YEEESS! I watched the movie last Sunday and was looking forward to your spoiler review.

Jim's confirmed that he is coming back for Sonic 4 in an interview from Japan
LETS GOOO
I literally just got back from the movie theater today to watch it with some friends. This is perfect timing lmao

@nexisvids I don't mind it that much, it happens sometimes lol
I could tell they did their research for this movie. They did what most movie studios refuse to do, and they studied the source material.
Did anyone else notice during the Virtual bonding scene between Gerald and Ivo, you can spot the Eggmanland logo from Sonic Unleashed?
According to an article I read yesterday, they did consider killing Tom off.
I was shocked with how game accurate Metal Sonic was. While my hype for Sonic Movie 4 is not as high as my hype was for Sonic Movie 3 (this is solely because we are going from a movie about my favorite character to a movie that isn't about my favorite character) I am still very hyped.
Fun fact: According to the movie, Shadow canonically (in the movies) is from Oklahoma
1:29:55 Lemme put it right there, Amy’s design is so much better. The enthusiasm for me to not keep seeing the fan photoshop posters of Amy.
REVENGE GUAC
Dude on top left rockin the 2000s cut is hilarious lmao
Chaomix? 😂LMAO
And in the future neo metal sonic is sending his army to ensure the first metal sonic is built.
my 3 favorite sonic youtubers talking about sonic 3 is awesome
Plot twist: Eggman has landed in a parallel universe where Sonic and Tom have not yet met and takes control of the earth
Honestly i wish the ending was a bit more challenging for sonic to face.
Still a good movie though.
One thing i really like abt the Sonic 3 movie is the re-watchability of it. The first 2 movies were good but I found myself bored after the fjrst watch. I can already tell i’ll be watching this movie again so many times when it comes digitally
In Green Hills, Montana, all the cops are always into something else besides doing cop work. It's Christmas, you could steal city hall!
I love how this franchise is really learning from their mistakes and successes
