No one but a woodworker will ever appreciate just how much effort goes into making one. Liked and Subscribed, thanks from Chicago.

While of course your major instructions are important, gotta love the tiny, almost incidental tips, and your conversational manner. Feel like you are giving us real meat for an enthusiast. Please keep it up!!

Hi Ben, very interesting video series, I'm starting with footpowered lathes and I'm trying to turn my first bowls. How dry is the wood you use to make the blank? How do you get it dry without cracking it? thank you for your help! (sorry for my bad english)

I'm just finishing my first pole lathe (spindle) but after watching this I'm deffinately starting on a second, bowl turning, lathe almost immediately. Mainly because you have simplified the madrel, other lathes I have seen you drill out a section for the mandrel (which I think seems more hassle than anything else). any tips for the design of the lathe? I appologise now but im going to copy your design from these viseos, any changes you'd recommend if you where buliding a new lathe from scratch?
