  • Ipower 2300 generator. This generator is a beast for its size. It powered 5 cubic foot chest freezer. A small refrigerator/freezer & a heat gun on low all at the same time. I am not sponsored by anyone. I picked this up from Sam's Club for $350.0 on sale. Regularly $400.0 I highly recommend this unit. You can easily service this unit also. It had a wheel kit with extendable Handel built in. It also has automatic high idle with a digital display. Has a digital gas guage, Led night light for the control panel. And mutch more, like an hour meter!!!! Don't over look this item.

    Also the oil screw in funnel can be used to drain the oil, eliminating any oil spill.

    PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR AIR FILTER IS OILED. Mine was dry as a bone which means the air wasn't getting filtered during the break in period. Please A-iPower, make sure your workers are oiling the air filter as this shortens engine life if the air filter isn't properly oiled.

    Thanks for the review! I bought this one a few weeks ago and left a review on the manufacturer's website too. Like you, I mentioned turning the on/off knob to on and letting it sit for a minute to let the fuel bowl fill before that first start because I saw another review or two on here complaining about how hard it was to start. Someone also had commented they bought one and gas poured out the bottom, and I suspect the fuel bowl drain screw had been left open accidentally at the factory and just needed to be tightened up.
    I liked the way you tested different appliances on your review, and even overloaded it a bit to show how that worked. I knew when you were about to turn the space heater on with the heat gun it was going to trip, already had 1000 watts(1kw)going and adding 1300 to it wasn't going to hold!
    The overload on this one is not the big button you were trying though. The little green lights are also buttons and when it overloads like that it turns the power output light from green to red,(or yellow?) and you can press the red lit button to reset the main breaker without having to power off the machine.(So said the manual). I think the other breaker button works like GFCI breaker. Thanks again for the practical use review instead of showing the "out of the box" review, I have had a chance to try mine out a bit running a fan and flood light together during break in and find it runs my electric pole saw and hedge trimmer just fine for actual work use, which is why i really wanted it.

    Great review and hard to find on this model. ipower also makes a version with dual fuel and heomaito makes similar models at the same factory. Both also make a similar 150cc model.
    Just note that modern generators have two breakers. The circuit breaker is for shorts and is not tripping on load. The load breaker protects the inverter and has a separate button. I would bet its on the screen itself. Try unplugging then pressing the red light, next time it overloads!

    I just purchased one of these. Used it all night and noticed the fuel was low. I turned it off and filled it back up. Now it won't crank back up. What I'm I doing wrong?

      Those engines like fresh fuel. And like to be choked every time you try and start it. If you have fresh fuel & you think the carburetor bowl of full it should be starting. I would try removing the side pannell and spraying starting fluid in the air filter intake then try to start it. Note, i now have been using an ethanol shield additive and starting it once per month it's been doing well running it that that for me.

      Did you unplug the load from the generator before trying to restart? Also, (my most common mistake) did you turn the fuel/shutoff back to run. Once it is hot, it doesn't really need to be put over to choke, just put it on run.

    I just bought one today. I hooked up my shop vac and the motor went off.
    This is the first time I’ve ever owned a generator.
    Did I do something wrong?

    • @rickreid81
      @rickreid81  5 місяців тому +2

      Depending on how many amps the VAC pulls it may be too big for the generator. Also, the surge watts on the first few seconds on the VAC start up my be too high also. It sounds like that's the problem from your disrcripition. [Note, the generator out put is 15 amps].

    I have one. Actually, I have had 2 now. These things cannot keep up at higher elevation. They just can’t do it. My Honda 2000 runs circles around it at 7000ft elevation my Honda can still pull a full 1.7kw. This thing can’t get over 1.3-1.4kw. Two generators and same result. It works, but not at the power output they claim. Also I found it interesting it’s an 80cc motor. The Honda 2000 I have is a much larger motor and actually does what it says it will , and quieter. Sure, for the money it isn’t bad if u ONLY need to run an 800watt microwave, but what’s funny is at higher elevation, this unit won’t even run my 900 watt microwave on a constant 3 minute run, it overloads at 50 seconds to 1 minute, I have to go plug my 2000 Honda in to do the job. Sad

      Not everyone needs a $1200 gen. I bought two of this for $560. Live in FL so it's fine for most of us.

  • @hlmmoore
    @hlmmoore Місяць тому +1

    You need to get a bigger generator if your going to run all of that stuff. It's only 2200 watts. I think 1800 constant running watts. our doing too much with it.
