Atlanta freeways are some of the smoothest that I have ever driven on, especially some of their new ones are really nice. I also like greenery of Atlanta in general, wish other cities would try their own version of merging the forest and the city
Feeling right at home! The GA400 interchange construction is coming along well, the fly over from 400 SB to 285 EB is now finished and open. Nice video!
Yea the interchange is starting to gain progress even more. The project should've started earlier to where it's the most dangerous interchange in all in Atlanta of what I heard.
Wow those exit signs inside the electronic message boards look great. I've seen speed limit signs and highway shields displayed in the electronic signs but never green exit ones. I might be sounding like a sign geek, but the new graphics and different colored text are definitely a step in the right direction. The rumble strips in the double white seem like a pretty good idea as well. It's interesting to see the before and after of construction, so the video being filmed in 2019 makes it even better.
For a week, back a year and a half ago. The one just past Jimmy Carter had a message warning against aggressive drivers and literally had a multi line large blue dick and balls on it on the right side. I took a video of it before it was taken down.
Public transport lacks so much here, I can tell you that. Coming up on being in the area for 10 years, we always have to drive a painful 30 minutes with no traffic into the city instead of riding, say, commuter rail. Glad you could get this footage while the interstates didn't turn into parking lots! Great job!
Tbh from I-85 you can just head East instead. But yea glad to hear that hoped you enjoyed the ride since Atlanta got a nice freeway network unlike the rush hours
Georgia surely has the smoothest freeways in all of America! This could've been somewhere in the Netherlands or Singapore (except for the green signs and the minor concrete segments)
Sadly it should've been like coronavirus traffic regardless of all the years it had rush hour. Like the Top-End Perimeter is home to one of the worst rush hours ever in Atlanta, even the United States including the Downtown Connector which is always a pain in the ass. Like even people who never even visited the city can tell because of how busy it is especially I-285 to where that it were easier to travel around Atlanta back in the day but the popular solution was even worse than a traffic problem thanks one of the most popular problems is that one of the ramps in the Spaghetti Junction which is from I-285 East to I-85 North is so damn congested. I really hope GDOT can fix this in the future because the city is growing quickly than you've ever anticipated.
@@trulylondon1, you mean the Tom Moreland Interchange northeast of Atlanta is the busiest interchange in the metro area of Atlanta. It may look like a stack and hybrid interchange together, but it's almost difficult to navigate with those ramps, except the signs can help.
Nia Daniels yes! Hopefully more people from Atlanta will see this comment so that they can confirm it as well. 285 is NASCAR with 18 wheelers on a good day and Hong Kong traffic on a bad day.
I call total bullshit unless you tell the truth and say there was a major accident with multiple fatalities. 25 years running these roads so tell the truth.
T Roll lol calm down buddy. You probably run on the roads but I doubt you live here because if you did you would know the population here has gone up on crazy levels since 17’. And the entire time I was on the highway not one medic or accident was off to the side of the road. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Well gee... 3 and a half hours and the shit would have been cleaned up. Born in Marietta, grew up in Douglasville. And I've been driving these roads daily for the last 3 and a half years and haven't seen a dramatic increase. Wanna try again maybe ??
Nice of you to show the perimeter, but was misleading, as the video was more than four minutes long before you got to 285, and then you didn’t go all the way around. You pass too many cars to the right, and you also got in the far right lane just as entrance ramp traffic was trying to merge- both moves are reckless.
Always existed at Windy Hill for lodging, food and cold beer....never ever believed the Braves would be right there off 285/Cobb 41...always loved the ATL...from 1965 through current times...however what a Jungle it is...🦁

Atlanta definitely does have a great canopy.
Uhm ever heard of Nashville & Charlotte u know with greenery also?
@@user-hf3eb8lj5g Yeah, around there the greening is amazing.
@@user-hf3eb8lj5g yes also Houston and Dallas
@@trulylondon1 not the freeways but the regular roads like Kuykendahl, T C Jester and Champion forest dr.
It's great when it's great and horrendous when it's not. Frequently the largest parking lot in Georgia!
You should record this video at 4pm on a Friday.
LOL
You trying to have people road rage their cells and laptops to death or something? 🤣🤣🤣
LMFAO
Yes please that way people can STOP MOVING HERE !!!

4:30, love the square-mounted curve sign.
Most likely filmed on a Sunday approximately 7:00 a.m.
At 1:18, those Express Lanes Remind me of the ones in I-77 in North Carolina

GDot does a really good job with their electronic signage.

RIDIN’ IN A TANK ON 285
🧛🏾♂️🧛🏾♂️🧛🏾♂️
I did this drive every week for 20 years from Gainesville to Doraville.

30mins is nothing. Imagine those driving 2+hrs to go to work.
I just took this route yesterday. We went to my daughters house in Suagr Hill, off 985.
Tbh from I-85 you can just head East instead. But yea glad to hear that hoped you enjoyed the ride since Atlanta got a nice freeway network unlike the rush hours
You drive like you are from Atlanta.
I drive 285 at 5am to work
Love this stuff... Buckhead next brother!!! Please. Lenox Mall , Blackland Rd. etc...
I drove in that sh*t for 25 years. Moved to the mountains of North Carolina a couple of years ago. Dear God, was that a good decision.
What? You don't like Atlanta's highways?
Can you Please do Maryland Videos?
This must have been done on Sunday.
Why is this recommended to me I live in Cleveland Ohio bruh.
Love Atlanta tho
Every other license plate i see is from ohio. I meet a lot of ppl from ohio that come here oddly.
Georgia surely has the smoothest freeways in all of America! This could've been somewhere in the Netherlands or Singapore (except for the green signs and the minor concrete segments)
Georgia's freeways are generally pretty good. I think Phoenix may have smoother freeways overall.
What date and time of day was this?
You're driving 360 mph, but so is just about everyone else, I say raise the speed limit !
they say the speed limit on 285 is 285 hahaha
You might be joking, but this is time-lapsed
Note: the I-285 in Georgia is actually the Atlanta's bypass
I just watched this to see I could find me or someone I know driving.
Will you Make a video or Remaster a Video in Louisville?
maybe one day.
We weren't by my exit

😭im here cause carti too lmfao
I wish Atlanta improves traffic flow. That is why Atlanta is bad for traffic, you know what I mean.
Thanks for the comment.

@@CrystalClearWith8BE Yes the Tom Moreland Interchange but better known as the Spaghetti Junction.
Why speed it up ?
Speeding is normal on this interstate
From 7:16 to 10:36 I sat in traffic and didn’t drive over 5mph on a bad day. No exaggeration at all.
No...way. from 7 to 10?????

I dont know why but I really lime the infrastructure of i285
I wish my commute from 85 S to 75 north was that quick
This is very cool I usually come down this way whenever I’m going to Orlando in Florida to see family
Trivia - 985 is the highest numbered interstate.
990 in Buffalo is the highest interstate.
must have made that run on sunday
Thanx bro
Why would you take the west side of 285 when you are going to the S/E of ATL ? IJS
They were driving for the footage
The eastern portion Northern loop will eventually be built. Sugarloaf extension will be tolled north from GA316 to 985. Within 10 years.
These speeds will be attained when computer systems drive all vehicles, just like on I Robot.you won't be able to drive manually.
why tho
I have lived in Houston and LA and driven in most cities and Atlanta 285 is the worst traffic I have ever experienced . Unless you count Manila.
People really want to be from Atlanta so bad.

Blah blah blah. Slower traffic should keep right then. Ludacris said it best, "MOVE BITCH, GET OUT THA WAY!"
DUDE...... have you EVER driven on 285 ?? If not just shut up because we have our own set of rules for the perimeter.
I drive this POS daily, sorry not watching this video it'll be depressing, I285 can be a nightmare

That is a very racist thing ding dongs otp say.
Can’t wait until the borders open up so we can travel in America again.
yeah, me too. I'm hopeful that sometime this summer things start to get normal again.
