7 grand AUD and 40kg difference is a massive win for the SWM. I get the feeling they’ve gone completely unnoticed. There’s still people out there wishing there was a new DRZ or a WR500r or that the T7 was lighter or that the 701 was cheaper ...and SWM quietly got it done! Seriously interested in getting one here in France. Have you had any reliability issues? Is there room for 2 up?

just seen online that the SWM is actually 169kg dry next to the 187kg Tenere. So only 18kg difference. And for some reason the price of the SWM out here in France is now near enough 8k euros next to the 9,300 eur for the Tenere. Not such an easy choice now.

@@bimfred 187kg with 19l fuel, crash bars, panier racks ready to go. Tenere700 however is 208kg without the crash bars and panier racks. Tenere 700 feels like a 230kg bike. I don't think 208kg declared weight is correct.

The husky 701 is 60 kg lighter than the T7 .. but still 145kg. Manageable off road. If you want to drop weight. You would need concider the 500cc bikes like beta 500rs

The T700 is a great looking bike but in my opinion it’s over priced for what you get

Exactly, and it can't handle two up. But Yamaha can sell whatever overpriced bike they want in the name of reliability.

I was going to buy the T7 next week not sure now after seeing your bike a new T7 will some accessories will cost me around $18500 and a new SWM superdual x with already everything on it will cost $10500 I don’t know why but I am concerned about the reliability of the SWM not doing big road miles as I have a road for that, this bike would be just used for a around 1.5 hours road riding and then a couple of hours in the bush any advice

Tenere 700 is a flawed bike that can't handle two up.
