  • In the 18th century, in Eastern Europe, the micronation of the Republic of Paulava arose.
This micro nation boasted a government, a small army, a school and a library.
Abandoned in 1795, during the third partition of Poland, the Republic of Paulava standed just for 26 years. Today only a few ruins remain as a testomony of its existence.
The site is only 35 kilometers away from Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Even today, its possible to visit the ancient ruins where a Polish nobleman founded his personal micro-nation.
If you don't know what to see in Vilnius, Paulavos respublika is a great testament to Lithuania's history and a little-known tourist destination in the Baltic Republics.

The devolution process of Paulava is just as important as it’s foundation. There will be a rejuvenating of micronation/microstates soon I predict and the lessons of the past are critical to analyze.
Thank you for presenting this broadcast.
    Best wishes and God bless.

*"There will be a rejuvenating of micronation/microstates soon I predict"* - I do hope and I agree with what you say. Alsoiin the last century there were some.
The most famous was (and still is) Principality of Sealand, off the shores of UK. In Italy we had also the Republic of Rose Island (then destroyed) off the shores of Emilia Romagna.
I'm glad you enjoyed this video.
      Greetings :)
