    Great work! It doesn't look like a "crate tv stand" 🖒I like your innovative way of holding up the middle piece with a box while leveling and screwing in 😂😂😂 I'm the same with projects!
    I made my TV console too becuaue I couldn't find one large enough for the price I was willing to pay.

      Ha ha yeah, I had to improvise since I didn't have any help at that moment. In my case it was kind of the opposite but same budget limitation. I had limited space for the Tv console and all I could find was too expensive or too cheap quality so I decided to go with my own TV console. Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I love it. Knowing that I'm not alone with this kind of experiences! We girls rock LOL. Loving your channel too. Hugs!

    Te quedó espectacular. 👌 ahora enseñame a manejar el taladro para taladrar y atornillar.

      Muchisimas gracias! Creeme que si pudiera iria para alla y te enseño. Pero creeme que no es nada dificil. Yo cuendo empece a trabajar madera y manualidades, yo simplemente hice ensayos con pedazos de madera y le daba! Antes no habia tanta informacion y me tocaba ir al ensayo y error. El dia que te animes a emepzar solo agarra pedazos de madera que sean de desperdicio y solo practica. Veras que es super facil. Y la clave esta en medir, siempre medir donde necesitas taladrar y atornillar!
      Gracias por pasar a dejar tu comentario!!! 💓

    How heavy of a tv does this hold

    • @thecraftingnookds
      @thecraftingnookds  6 років тому +2

      I'll be guessing a bit here. My TV is a really old one so it's heavy. I believe for sure up to 55" of the new ones with this size will be ok. BUT if I analyze the structure, each board is over 1" thick and 2 strong crates attached in the middle of the console makes it strong. As for the wheels, each wheel is supposed to handle about 50 pounds. So, I can't actually be 100% sure, but I would say up to 59" would be fine. If you make it larger then I can't really say. As the weight is mostly in the center, you would need to make sure you reinforce that area.
      I'm not a carpenter so It's just my guess. I love making things myself but I wish I could give more specific and accurate information. BUT thanks for asking this.

      This is the exact question I was going to ask. The reason I'm watching this video IS because I've been wanting to build a "real wood" tv console. I've learned how to build a lot of things over the yrs post-separation but sometimes I get involved with projects that bury me; the cost of materials, time consuming, not being able to do as the video shows, etc. I really love this & I have all these materials on hand. I have an older heavy flat screen, so that was my only worry. But I'm going to make this anyway cuz it's 2 cute! Nice Work, gf!

    Do you know the height and length?

    • @thecraftingnookds
      @thecraftingnookds  6 років тому

      measurements are really relative, will depend on the available space and the crate and wheels size. in my case I had really limited space, my TV console is 46" x 12" x 18". You will find more details on the blog. Hope this helps!

    Very nicely done! Love how u used the box to hold shelf in place. Looks beautiful and will save ya a ton of money. Can you give board dimensions please? This is exactly what I'm looking for. Wanting to get a 40" tv for my new living rm an upgrade from my 32". An this stand would work for both. Also what kind of wood u used might be helpful? Thanks and God bless!

      Hi Jeckell, I'm so glad you like this project. Thank you for your kind words. The board dimensions I used is: 45, 2" long, 12" deep and 1 " Think. I used pinewood for boards and crates. Please keep in mind that measurements can vary. My crates might not be the same as the ones you find. Also, you can make it larger or smaller. SO my suggestion is finding crates first, then decide how long you want the console to be, place both crates in position so you have your lengths from end to end of your crates and measure the space between crates to have the shelf measure. The good thing about this, beside money-saving, is that it doesn't have to be a specific size except for the one you need. For more detailed information and instructions, check out the full blog post that is linked in the description box.
      Again thanks for stopping by and watching!

    How much did it all cost?

    • @thecraftingnookds
      @thecraftingnookds  5 років тому

      Hey Nessa. Well, it's hard to say for sure since it will depend on where you live and what you can find. In my case, I live in Spain and it cost me around 70Euros (about $80). But here's the thing: if you get the chance to get cheap crates you will save a lot. I had to buy them because it's not easy to find rustic fruit crates where I live. The rest is the cheapest wood pine I could find and the wheels. If you already have stain another saving you can make but paint and stain doesn't have to be so expensive and it will last a lot more than just this project. I have to add that a simpler and less unique piece of tv console table could cost around that price and even more expensive. But since I wanted something really rustic, unique, and homemade, 70 Eur didn't seem expensive. If you are lucky you might be able to pull this off with less budget.
      Good Luck!
      Hugs
