I did one practice then one timed solve for regular then checkered. 55s & 2m02s respectively
It did mess with my brain more than I expected. Doing first layer then the second layer edges helped a lot. I liked doing the last layer, it was less difficult than the rest and that difficulty felt good.
I used to try to solve cubes in different patterns to see if they were possible but never tried to do it fast before

The fact that I got a ad of speed cube shop before this video makes it hilarious

I actually have done this before, and it adds an extra challenge, and im gonna try and practice it a bunch. And somehow his second solve was as fast as my fastest solve, a regular one too

Funny thing is one day before this was uploaded I was in the car playing with my cube and I had the idea to solve the cube in a checkerboard pattern. The other day I was scrolling through youtube and got this vid recommended🙂

I can actually do checkerboard solving at the same speed as my normal solve time, that being said, my normal solve time is between 40-50 seconds, with checkerboard being around 45-55 seconds. It is something I did a lot though, pretty much for as long as I have known how to solve a cube

Yo bro I had this idea a few months ago and I was hoping a UA-camr would try to do it to because it’s a super fun challenge

I love alternative solves like that.
    On the 9x9x9 it's a nightmare..

My Scrambled-to-Checkerboard pattern PB is my normal 3x3x3 average - 43 seconds (using beginner method, nothing special). I practiced this a lot lol

I’m not a “speed cuber” but I love cubing. My PB regular is around 40, doing this challenge took just over 2 minutes. Super fun through.

When he tried his 1st attempt on solving F2L, then checkerboarding it, he almost got faster than my PB normally
