Riding Bush Hill for the First Time! // Downhill Mountain Biking in San Antonio!

- What's up guys, Chenzo here. As Most of you may already know, we've recently gained access to the downhill MTB trails at Bush Hill near Eisenhower Park. This is a huge win for the San Antonio mountain biking community and I couldn't wait to get out here and explore this trail system as soon as possible. As of now, the trails exist and are rideable in their raw, unpolished downhill form. But soon these trails will be professionally rebuilt. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this trail system!
I'd like to give a huge thanks to S.T.O.R.M and all others involved in getting us access to this trail system!
Thanks for watching! Don't forget to like and sub!

Thanks for watching. Stay stoked! 😎🤟
From your location, go up Camp Bullis Rd, make a right turn on Babcock. Look to your left (before you hit an apartment complex). There is a gnarly trail. Chunk as hell. Back in the 90s when that area was still country we would take those trails, following the power lines, to San Antonio Ranch on the other side of Helotes, and all the way to Government Canyon before it was even open to the public.Thats what Bush Hill reminds of. Still in it's raw state and not yet been manicured. Those were the best trail rides. Still are. Hell I remember when Eisenhower Park was off limits to bikers. But did that stop me??? 😂
Thanks! I’ll definitely have to some more exploring out there and check that spot out!

sick! been wanting to check this out. every time i check out a new spot i carry my water bladder/pack so i can load up with snacks and extra hydration. especially here in the summer, the triple digits are dangerous.
Hope you get to check it out. I thought it was pretty fun and the views/photo ops were dope. Good call on the bladder pack 🤟
I'm excited to see what the future holds for these trails, I need to get out there and check em' out soon! Thanks for the preview 🤘
YW. Me too! I can’t wait to see this place becomes! 😎🤟
cool, youre back in SA. My favorite SA guy youtuber
Hey thanks bro. It’s good to be back! 🙌
another great bro'!... keep em' comin'!
Thanks! Will do 😎🤙
Bro, that 3rd trail was some serious, sketchy jank! I'll ride it with you, but you should get Pringle out there fasho.
I definitely need some company out there next time. Takin it way back with the Pringle reference!
Dude! Thx for doing this!!
You’re welcome. Glad to help 😎🙌
Great vid..chapo
Heya, thanks for the info. Do you know if the new projects will include any technical XC trails?
I don’t know yet. I’m keepin my ear out for any info or update on this area
@@ChenzosWorld Awesome. I tried to do some research and only found some brief info about the bond funded project using terminology like "downhill" and "flow track". That could just be some pre-planning verbiage though so trying to find more recent info.
Hey brotha love the video! How much elevation did you hit overall? Cheers!
Thanks bro. I did three runs and total elevation gain was about 950 ft.
Minus the one mile I rode on pavement I would say a conservative elevation gain for each run is somewhere between 260- 290 ft of elevation but that’s just dude math. I’ll prob go out there again soon and get a more exact number
Are there plans to smoothen and define the trails in the future? Will they add signs?
they’re goin to close the trail system at some point, and have the trails professionally rebuilt. I believe the city already has grant money for the project. Just don’t know when
Thanks for the video. Could you give the location for these trails? Thanks
You’re Welcome. You can see the location on my Strava @joe Hernandez

Bro I really like your videos. That being said some of the playback quality is garbage. Would you like to borrow one of my GoPro cameras?
Thanks. Ive got plenty of GoPros but UA-cam compresses my vids after upload and I’ve yet to find a solution. If you got any info on that lmk
wish they had it on trail forks
Me too. They’re going to rebuild these trails at some point. Hopefully they’ll update them in Trailforks when it’s complete.
