Same. I'd be mortified if I left a mark on one. I don't care if it's $200 or $2000. Guitars may be tools, but those are someone else's tools. Gotta treat them with respect.
I bought a Gretsch G6128T-N13 from these guys. A limited signature model guitar which i bought #13 of 13. Jason Freeman made the over-the-phone purchase easy and hassle free. My daughter and I came in from Pittsburgh for the Nick 13 meet and greet and all the guitars were sold, but lucky for me, someone backed out. Thanks CME!!
When I visited my sister earlier in the summer, CME and Wrigley were my 2 "Must-See" places. Both were everything I thought they would be if not more. At CME picked up an Epiphone Riviera which I have not put down all summer---killer guitar and the guys at CME could not have been any cooler, really made for an amazing experience. Its part store, part museum, lol. Btw, Baxter--next time you go, check out the killer Thai restaurant couple doors down from CME. Just an awesome city, love Chicago.
This was really cool to see because on my first pilgrimage to CME, I also fell in love with an Atkin (47) and regret not buying it. The best acoustic I’ve ever played!
CME is awesome, and their CME exclusive models are something else. I got a Strat American Pro II with a whole rosewood neck, Fat 50s pickups, and I can’t put that guitar down. One alternative you should consider if you come to town and you like acoustics, would be going to the suburbs and visit Tobias music. Amazing shop with great folks.
Loved the Adkins and the Gibsons. The Adkins had more of a Martin/Collings sound to my ear where the GIbsons were clearly GIbson, more punchy in the mids and highs with awesome overtones and crisp clean bass. Your playing displayed them each well, you are an awesome picker. Your intro with the 'bird reminded me of Seals and Crofts style. The Montana custom sounded big, like a J 200. All were excellent. As for the electrics, my taste runs to the ES335s of all you looked at. CME is awesome. I saw my first Martin D35 there as a young man and was in love with 3 piece backs ever since.
That was fun, thank you! I’ve bought and sold to CME over the years - great place. Also, if you were asking, you felt more at home with the Atkin acoustic guitar vs the others and it sounded special too.
I bought a vintage magnatone amp from them that had supposedly been checked over. It even had the tech that checked it over signature on a card. It came with a 20amp fuse in it. That scares me. They do have a lot of cool stuff. Especially. the vintage stuff.
Been there Baxter!! Buddy, come down to Springfield and visit with me, I was at your place a couple years ago when it was my wife’s and I 25th wedding anniversary!! Do you remember, you showed us all around the studio
I was there back in June and bought a Danelectro, which despite its cheap parts, I love! I was looking at other guitars and I look next to me and there was Carlos Santana! I didn’t talk to him but it was kinda cool.
Well since they moved keyboards and now drums as well in the Bassment there is less room to see basses. Most are on their basses are on the website store now . Since they have done that I just go to Sweetwater more now.
why? Don't let what fox news says throw you off. I live and work in the city and it is safe and so much to do, CME is in one of the best areas in the city. As far as the shop, I will be honest the customer service sucks they act like they don't need your buisness
@yman74 because I hate big cities and I don't need any news agency to tell me anything about Chicago. Pretty easy to just sit at home in my tiny rural community and order any piece of gear right on my couch.
I don't get why people love CME. I live not far from there and their customer service sucks. Everytime I have gone there they don't have what I want to try in stock and they have zero customer service skills. I drove 5 hours to sweetwater because I am so disapointed with them.
Chicago has the Best Food of anywhere I have ever been.
Chicago living people are lucky when it comes to guitar type stuff!
Wow , I had no idea this guy played that well, very nice
Baxter handles the guitars on and off the racks like I do. Like they’re live hand grenades.
Same. I'd be mortified if I left a mark on one. I don't care if it's $200 or $2000.

@@tom.m 💯
Baxter. Oh my god! You. Need to play more! Wow!
That’s me at 4:26 Great to meet you guys.
Man, hate to see this episode end! However, better to have seen than not seen at all! Only when it comes to guitars! Thank you Baxter💚
1:55
Baxter, your acoustic playing is beautiful. That alone was worth the price of admission. :)
Love your playing.
Lordy those Atkins sound beautiful!
this confirms that I don't even want to step foot in that store unless I have the means to get whatever I want! wow, what a selection.
Bax, I could listen to you play all day long!
The Atkins was delightful! Ten times sweeter than the Gibsons. Absolutely magical.
The Atkins was amazing 👏
I haven’t been there in years!!! That place makes my brain hemorrhage lol 😂 Fun times for Baxter !!!:)
Very cool episode for Casino Guitars. Really fun to watch. 😎🤓
Holy Shiatzu!!!! That humming bird is off the charts sweet !!! Even outta tune that's a grand piano compared to my ibanez !!!!!
Helluva a shop
Not bad unfortunately I love the all!!!!!!!! Was there last month!!

Thanks CME!!
I absolutely love that place! Every time I go to training for work in Chicago, I have to stop there!!!
Bring $$$$$
Two greats together at last.
The Atkin sounds amazing.
I love how your pick strikes the strings when you play acoustic. I have a light touch as well, thanks baxter

Rosewood neck, gotta' be kidding me.., would love to see some pics of your Axe!
Most of Tobias' electric guitars are just Eastman ( no Gibson or Fender)
@@michaelblaney4461 True, however I was referencing, their acoustic selection.
Ahhhhh. You’re in the store I go to all the time!!! Wish I was there that day to say hello and welcome :)
That playing was beautiful; like Paul Kantner on Fantastic Journey.
I love CME! I got my pink American Tele there!
Love you guys Baxter
I'm drawn to that Eriza Verde finish like a moth to a flame

Very cool! The Cstom shop R9 is the one. Just got a Murphy lab at Sweetwater yesterday. When im down your way im goin to stop in.
SWEET!!!

I used to live fairly close to that neighborhood, too bad it was not in business when I lived in Chicago. I have bought from them - online. Good.
Been there Baxter!!

I have an actual 1961 SG/Les Paul in that color Frost Blue that I bought from Roy Buchannan in 1977 in Leesburg VA.
I have done some online orders with CMX, I was totally unaware they had this awesome shop.
When you you see and show the apprentice master builds please say the name. Only takes a second. Thanks for the tour.
OMG that sg in Rose Gold is unreal
Didn't know that place was that big. I have bought two guitars from them.
Alligatoring is what we finishers have long called that kind of checking in a finish.
What 5 did you pick?
Is that a 64 Strat at the end ?
God I'd love to know where CME got those fuzzy hanger covers. Anyone know a source?
This was cool, but please in the future show more than Gibson and Fender stuff. Show more like that Atkins.
Waiting for your Chuck Levins visit!
Then go to Atomic Music in Beltsville, MD. I was there the other day and had a great time, lots of vintage guitars and amps galore.
Sounded like you were going into "Wildfire" on the Hummingbird. 😂
Baxter is the most Baxter dude ever. Nature or nurture, hmm
Baxter you didn't show us the Bassment !
Not giving proper attention to basses seems to be a theme of their channel.
Well since they moved keyboards and now drums as well in the Bassment there is less room to see basses. Most are on their basses are on the website store now . Since they have done that I just go to Sweetwater more now.
Yeah, I could spend a minute or a thousand there.
me: grab the black Jazzmaster. just do it, Baxter.
Baxter:
me:
Just glancing the walls thru the video....not one single lefty.😢
If I had the money to buy three of the ‘top shelf’ guitars there, by the time I made up my mind, I’d only have money for TWO. And a long, white beard.
the Mecca....
Plot twist: every Gibson in there is an Ed Roman "all original".
CME instructed Baxter to only pick up one guitar at a time so he doesn't Baxterize their inventory. 😁
Im not allowed in here any more. I told the crew here to ban me. Each time I walk in there just to look I end up spending at least a thousand haha.
I'm 4 hours away from CME but Chicago is a mega turn off for me. Always wanted to check that shop out
why? Don't let what fox news says throw you off. I live and work in the city and it is safe and so much to do, CME is in one of the best areas in the city. As far as the shop, I will be honest the customer service sucks they act like they don't need your buisness

Yeah sure you love the scene at your local Applebee's@@alexwoolridge94aw
I'm surprised you lived and wasn't executed by the mayor's friends and colleagues, the gangsters lol
You should’ve skipped there and gone straight up to Dave’s in La Crosse
I don't get why people love CME. I live not far from there and their customer service sucks. Everytime I have gone there they don't have what I want to try in stock and they have zero customer service skills. I drove 5 hours to sweetwater because I am so disapointed with them.
Bax, cmon man, not coming to Westmont to visit the one of the best acoustic shop anywhere?!
I'm hurt
