Round 2 opponent here. Just wanted to shout out that these cube videos are the inspiration for putting together a (proxy) paper vintage cube and setting up a monthly in-person draft with my coworkers. Cheers!
Are you guys loaded?
@@wernerbeinhart2320 See 'proxy'. The sleeves are the most expensive part.
Any way to share a list of cards?
@@TerranEarth google vintage cube cubecobra
I love how even when Luis drafts “mono”-red he plays four colors
... cfb, are you trying to imply that every LSV Vintage Cube video isn't must watch?
the disrespect!!
LSV videos are the only thing worth watching on CFB
It’s simply redundant. Like saying “nonsense” or “no power”
@@duncanwalla7014or “thoughtsieze is just a busted card”
@@AnarkistGaming86 I think a lot of their content is pretty good
Cool, but... The video title is the same thing I say in my head with EVERY LSV draft I see, soooo 😅❤
of all the broken combo/storm decks that lsv has ever drafted, can't say i expected the one with a click-bait title to be a Rx midrange deck 😆
I love LSV cube drafts...but, man, I also love red/green monsters and I got so excited to hear LSV say it's actually viable(?) in this iteration of the cube and talk about goin "red green beats" after getting his sol ring.... then he proceeds to pass so many amazing "red green beats" cards (I mean green cards, really) and forces his way right into an izzet strategy (even mentioning how he'd like brain freeze in the deck, lol).
Watching that one p3 pack come back with the final 3 cards being Courser, Taiga, Primeval... lol. I wonder if green was open too?
C'mon, man... :(
Deciding that green was open based on one pack in pack 3 doesn't seem very intelligent, does it?
Try starting at the start: literally the first good green card to go with his red was a tireless tracker in pack 2. Again: he got passed zero good green in pack 1. Don't go into green when you have good reason to believe it will be cut for two packs.
You should write out the deck list you would've drafted based on the packs he saw as an exercise. Spoiler: deck would've been shit.
courser is a value card, not a beatdown card. I think he'd need to get cards like questing beast and noble hierarch to make green part of the beatdown strategy. If you don't get the dorks especially, your early-midgame is just so trash. Blue fills the same part of the strategy by giving you early tempo plays
@@griefman6550 Didn't say Courser was a beatdown card. I just used that as an example of green being open in general (the final 3 cards in that particular pack).
I know beast didn't show up (it could have, tho..), but Elvish mystic did (which he eventually got even though he passed it). He also passed several other dorks, including one of the hierarchs (i think - i'll go back and watch). Rofellos doesn't really count for the R/G deck, obv. He got Chariot but that was passed at first as well. Didn't gargadon show up as well? Maybe I'm mashing this together with a diff recent draft in my head, but while I was watching it I know quite a bit of decent green (that would work in RG) came around. We know now that cradle didn't show up, but that could have been a possibility considering all the green that was being passed up.
But no matter how we wanna discuss this, bottom line is I think it would be nice if he would play stuff like that more often (esp if it's actually a viable deck in this version of the cube now - i''m not sure since I've been away a while). I was just pointing out that there was definitely enough green stuff coming at him early/mid to not just totally ignore it all fairly early and start taking blue and considering brain freeze for the deck, lol (although it *is* LSV... and I do understand what he prefers to go for...). Even channel came at him (in the same pack with natural order, i think). I'm not sure how good that card is in a midrange R/G deck in cube, but it does help power out large creatures.. Sol ring obviously is great in the deck as well.
@@griefman6550 Not sure if you watched the actual draft? But I just sped through the first pack and half of the second. Looks like someone trying aggressively to NOT play green at all costs.
p1p1 Wren, Kogla, Chandra ToD, all wheeled. Pick was chandra (but wrenn coming back is a sign)
p1p2 Scooze, Lotus Cobra, Battleball, Savannah - scooze/savannah come back (he takes char which is ok, tho)
p1p3 Titania, PoA; Garruk Wildspeaker; Sakura Tribe-Elder - latter 2 wheel and he takes Steve
p1p4 Joraga Treesppeaker - which wheels (does not take)
p1p5 Compleated Nissa (same pack as Glorybringer, though) - Nissa Wheels, he takes thrillseeker which is okay at this point..
p1p6 Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, Rofellos (not sure how good in RG, tho, but he WHEELS...) LSV takes archangel Elspeth
p1p7 Elvish Mystic (passed, but actually wheeled.....LSV picks it up as it's the only card left in the pack...) - he starts drafting blue here
p1p8 Green Sun's Zenith, Raging Ravine, Haywire Mite - he takes a rakdos card now
pack 2 green passes - survival, dryad of the illysian Grove, Wall of Roots (survival and wall of roots wheel, picks Andruil), Heartbeat of Spring ignoble hierarch, utopia sprawl, (through the breach?), eternal witness, woodfall primus (meh), questing druid (takes on wheel), regrowth, exploration (rg talisman was in pack , tho, and he htook it here),Tireless Tracker,, Finale of Devastation (takes underworld breach here), 5mana green god, sylvan caryatid (wasteland was pick here, tho), Hydroid Krasis (was already castable at this point),
I stopped here. I know a lot of good stuff wheels here as well. I'm not saying it would have been the best deck or that those were the best cards. But there was absolutely enough to decide "yep, I think I will do the RG thing". All those dorks wheeling in p1 was nuts. Or is the green/simic ramp upheaval deck not a thing in this cube anymore?
ALthough I'm retrospectively watchin this over, all of this was stuff that was jumping out during. No need to use hind-sight on this one. The one thing we can't/shouldn't do is say, "well beast and cradle, henge, etc. didn't show up so it's w/e". They all COULD have. I'm not sure what exactly is needed to make a successful RG monster/beatdown deck in this cube, but green was OBV wide-open from the get-go.
@@nsmith131 dude, watch the first pack over again. lol....
he makes it look so easy
Darn, I would've slammed that Oko - because the gap is just that big between it and the red cards - and then to immediately see the perfect pieces of removal in the next couple of packs... tough.
Inti is pretty underrated. It does alot. It and laelia is a sweet curve out... throw in bomat too lol.
A lot is two words.
I think this is the first time I've seen LSV take Syr Ginger? I'm hoping to see what he actually thinks of the card, I think she's really cool
Syr Ginger is in the cube because of LSV. When someone goes 3-0 in their cube discord, they get to remove one card and add in one of their choice. LSV chose Syr Ginger.
@@thesnipedinthehead oh cool I didn't realize he was the one who added her. I wonder, did he say why he thought she'd be a good fit?
Instructions unclear, watched every LSV video
Another day another piece of power for LSV
Copter/Inti/Magda is a hell of an aggro base!
I was surprised to see no consideration given to sentinel of the nameless city and tireless tracker
Counter-burn is, for me, the best way to play vontage cube. Fun, high tension, great card quality.
So much lsv cube content to go around!
Round 3 game 2 you could have metamorphed the mox diamond which gives you UU for mana drain
So informative I love it
I don't get to play much anymore, but I watch a ton of LSV drafts and I feel like I've learned a bunch!
I can usually pause on the pack opening and pick out most of the cards that LSV says are decent, and almost half the time I can guess which card he's gonna pick!
That being said, the third pick Wooded Foothills over Abrade was NOT what I expected...
Guess I STILL haven't learned to value good lands like LSV 😅❤
Green looked pretty open this draft too. In pack 1 you tabled Elvish Mystic, Joraga treespeaker, Garruk, and Rofellos. Probably could’ve been big green ramp.
Maybe, but who wants to play that snoozefest of an archetype
Luis doesn’t like pure green ramp. Seems like the payoffs are too low.
Boorrring
probably not because all of this three were in the same pack, so you could have picked one of them and the rest of the green ramp would be missing
couldve had lotus field into candelabra. Thats why this is not on his own page but on the almost defunct cfb page
I actually really like Sol Ring in the Boros decks. Both colours have so many great 2R and 2W 3 drops and whilst white 4 drops are often 2WW with good fixing dropping stuff like Thousand Moon Smithy, Wandering Emperor, Palace Jailer etc. with red having the 2RR costs of Chandra and Rampaging Raptor. But you do get the likes of Flametongue Kavu, some cubes have Seasoned Dungeoneer but there is also Comet and whilst Forth Eorlingas is better cast for X = 4+ a Sol Ring definitely helps get there and also allows for turn 3 Otharri and Dragons. Its no Mana Crypt which is arguably better in this color pairing due to more aggressively being able to take advantage of 3 mana on turn 1 than turn 4 on turn 2 but it's still a great pairing for Sol Ring
43:35 I see what you did there xD
LSV: builds deck around Fury
Also LSV: boards out Fury
Black lotus on the other side every round dang.
Sol ring FTW!
The mic audio having some issues
the occasional red dominant deck. Lsv can play them all
Goldspan and glorybringer are bffs
Kavu over oko was a wild pick and seemed particularly off given where tbe deck ended up
I took ancestral recall over sol ring on my p1p1. Was I wrong?
I wouldn't say it's wrong, definitely a touch choice. Sol ring feels a little better to me, is colorless which allows flexibility going into picks two and three. I think the rest of the pack might ultimately decide, if recall is the only strong blue card then maybe it's worth cutting blue.
@@Bird-of-prey Yes that is actually what ended up happening in my draft. P1p1 recall then blue was cut off and red was open. Sol Ring would have been better in that deck
well… if i MUST
its a must watch cube, so i had to click it tbh
Match 3 opponent trying their best to lose by just running out helm of awakening both games
Can someone explain the Triome over Misty pick, I can't really understand it?
The deck was mostly red at that point, looking to splash black, and had no red duals. If he takes Misty Rainforest, it's an off-color fetch that runs the risk of not being playable if there are no red lands. Taking Triome means you get a dual land you can actually play that can be grabbed by any future fetchlands/landcycle creatures.
In hindsight, Misty would have been the better pick since later on Taiga would show up. But you aren't exactly allowed to look at everyone else's packs and picks in draft 😂
Passing oko made me sad
Havent watched. Better be a must or im gunna have to reassess were i stand on tolarian academy
Y
He held back the copter because of Mother of Runes forgetting that it doesn't protect against colorless.
No he held back copter because he did not want to offer the trade.. did you even watch the video he even says it
