Because people complained about it being a military sim so they toned down a lot of things and made visibility better which is good but damn I did like that realism 😢

I heard that with MW22, they developed a map editing tool (which leakers thought was for a forge-like mode) to streamline making new maps moving forward. I can only guess the assets and textures they have are very simplistic. The maps in MW19 look more handcrafted which the textures being very complex rather than a single color. Anyways, the new Urzikstan map looks pretty good from the Warzone footage. The Ground War maps from the MW3 beta clearly show a downgraded version of it because the tree shaders are not working as they look flat. I imagine the final release will look better. MW2 looked better than its beta as well.

They relied heavily on bright sunlight to make the visuals pop more, but that also made the shadows too dark which hurt the multiplayer visibility. The engine just has an issue with adjusting anything under shadows because the ambient occlusion is overblown. You clown on the washed out look of the later games, but at least it's easier to see people.

I consider Call of Duty 1- Black Ops 2 (2003-2012) to be the "classic COD era" and I loved every game they made in those years. Out of all the COD games released 2013-2023 I think MW 2019 was the most special, I loved the realistic feeling the game had with the graphics, enviornments, sounds and so on, it felt refreshing for the series.
The Main Reason why everybody says Modern Warfare 2019 looks the best is because it is the only game in the series that did not have a single reload animation from a previous game. Yeah those days are way fucken behind us now...

What made MW2019 Immersive was the lack of of HUD Clutter. Not also that it was the whole overhaul of graphics, the Engine, Movement, GunPlay. As the people who played MW2 (2009) say “You Just had to be there” Although I didn’t get to experience that era I was lucky enough to live in a COD Hype Era. I wanna come back but the SBMM will still overtake and I’m pretty sure there is a lot more cheaters on it to, since Infinity Ward could care less about fixing their previous titles and still charge the full amount. Ridiculous… I also forgot to mention the attention to details and some of the lore that correlates in the game and some of the characters have unique interactions with another. There was another layer of extra love and care and it shows even till this day it still boasts life while it’s lacking in its color palette.
The beta was a highlight. Then crying nubs came around and they updated it to an arcade shooter like tf2.. I miss the old days when devs didnt give a shit about low skilled players 🥲

I will say one thing. The smoothness of movements is clunky. Whether it’s beta or not I know the end result will look the same. The fluidity of mw2 & mw3 is nerfed. This is due to lowering advantage skilled players against normal players. I mean for crying out loud. The slide canceling looks horrible on MW3. So clunky, so jittery, you can make it smooth here and there. Btw B hop is not coming back!!!!! No cod game will ever get close to how smooth mw19 played. You had to become goated at it to feel what I mean. It’s not for the average cod players and that’s what we appreciated.
