Kiana is both the golden child of Mihoyo and the one being most suffered in lore. The only game that Kiana didn't have to suffer is Flyme2themoon-the first game but from then, the others's lores are somewhat dark af. Ironically that HI3 is where Kiana has the most "happy" fate (until now) I'm still surprised how Genshin is more popular than Honkai despite its release date
Hmm maybe not everyone likes cyber punk themes (since genshin has medieval fantasy vibes)? And genshin seems to cater to a wider audience (like children). And there are more characters + more male characters to attract other demographics (such as females who want more male characters) And people probably like genshin for the open world exploration and nations that make you feel as if you're traveling.

That’s because for multiple reasons: 1-Honkai is mainly based off of the mecha genre, and sure there are fantasy elements like the Honkai energy and Herrschers, the main focus is on science fiction and technology, and these genres aren’t really popular and generally tend to cater towards a specific group of people. Unlike Genshin which is mainly a fantasy/medieval age story which are way more loved genres that can appeal to many different groups of people. 2-the lack of character diversity and world diversity in Honkai. You only have about maybe 20 important characters and there’s no focus on anybody else, not even background or side characters, not the everyday life of whoever lives in whatever city the story is taking place in, no unique features to the cities that differentiates them- all resulting in a boring, lifeless world, thus I don’t actually care what happens to the world. Unlike Genshin, where each region is unique and different (architecture, landscape and even terrain colours differ from Mondstadt to Liyue to Inazuma). Most of the characters are connected together and have some sort of bond that links them, even if they have little to no relevance to the story, and even background characters have their own personal stories to tell. This makes a huge, colourful, immersive world where you actually care about what happens to it. Exploring also helps in that regard. 3-little to no male characters, so the main demographic of Honkai is reduced even more to men. This actually isn’t a bad thing but well, when you don’t have characters of one gender you’ll not gain the interest of players of the opposite gender. This is actually the main reason why I was put off by Honkai and wasn’t interested for a long time, because there weren’t many important male characters, unlike Genshin which does have some. (Not 50/50 but really having 50/50 male and female characters is impossible anyways) 4-while I wouldn’t say the gameplay in Honkai is difficult, it is rather complex and you’ll get to the point where smashing random buttons won’t help you progress further (speaking from personal experience) unlike Genshin, which was pretty much made for people who have never touched a console. So the main demographic in Genshin has now grown bigger and the one for Honkai was reduced even more. 5-I have only finished up to 9 chapters, so I can’t speak about the story quality as a whole, but Honkai is definitely boring at the start, and doesn’t do a good job at developing characters. In fact, it’s very rushed at the beginning and we never get a chance to actually attached to the characters, thus “emotional” moments fall flat because we don’t actually care about the characters involved. (Looking at you Wendy and Himeko). Overall, Genshin is a much more intriguing story, and it appeals to many people of both genders and different groups. I’ll say though that Honkai is way more entertaining to play than Genshin because of its gameplay. The graphics are beautiful in both game, but the combat system, combos, visual effects, etc. are way more satisfactory and fun in Honkai. There is nothing wrong with not having super flashy moves, but dear God the visuals in Honkai is like cocaine to the eye. Gameplay in Genshin is good, but just not on the same level.

I think people underestimate how beautiful herrscher of ice/star/rimestar's story was. They deserved so much more spotlight than what they actually got. It is a fine mixure of love and tragedy, emotion and destruction.
i think it ties in really well with the themes the honkai story has told repeatedly, of love and sacrifice. owl loved ana and sacrificed himself bc he believed she could still be saved, and gave her his herrscher core so that she can live just a little longer :') i like how honkai carries these story themes through almost every character

My preferences; Bronya is tied as best girl with Fu Hua. Herrscher of Reason Bronya is tied for Best Herrscher design/coolest herrscher transformation with Herrscher of Flamscion Kiana. Fu Hua Pheonix Down (white haired - White/red/orange clothes) outfit from Shattered Samsara is the best character design in the game.
Meis transformation with the whole inner dialogue and farewell to herself is still supreme to me, partly because of the CN VA HoS was kinda nonchalant HoF is ofc another level, but thats kinda cheating too.
Mei's Herrscher transformation in Lament of the Fallen was VERY well built up imo, moreover it happens in a very tragical context : Mei having to fight Kiana to save her, thus parting ways from her.

Now that Kiana is no longer suicidal and has worked through her traumas Mei has no dire reason to stay as Kianas no longer a danger to herself, but keeping in line with how she's trying to save Kiana it would make sense that she stays in an attempt to bring everything to an end without involving her. This is flawed btw since Mei would eventually have to come after her core too with the path she's chosen further increasing the gap between them, but with Kiana now more determined than ever and in complete control, Meis bound to lose their next fight. The question is tho will that be enough to bring her back or will they stay on opposite sides until then end. Basically simping for Kiana is really hard on her
HoF's animation hits different. I have personally been using Battle Storm, Scarlet Fusion and Blood Rose during HI3's humble beginning and seeing Himeko in it, I could barely hold my tears back...
Okay, to everyone who considering to play Honkai: Honkai impact is a story driven game with a *lot* of dialogues. In a nutshell this is just a visual novel coated with hack n slash gameplay. I heavily recommend it if you're into reading dialogues and lore with having a lot of patience because you have to levelling up your rank level often to get into next chapters after you finished some. But if you only care about gameplay and easily bored then full apologies, this game is not for you. I'm not gatekeeping HI3 at all but i just don't want to hear more people dropping this game because they expect HI3 to be just another light casual game. Pardon for bad english since it's not my first language. Sorry if i went off as rude i don't meant to 🙇♀️ Edit: You can still enjoy the content even if you're not interested/too lazy/have no time to play the game through the webtoon (it's just a prequel though), wiki, tv tropes, and the cutscenes in order on youtube. It would be harder to fully understand the context this way but at least you can still enjoy some of Honkai content :D
Tbh, despite all the herscherrs we've seen, nothing will ever top Kiana's herscherr/HOV reveal. That moment still gives me goosebumps whenever I watch befall animation to this day. Not a single person can top the Queen herself
HoR still the only one that have fully animated transformaation sequence~ HoV are really regal and awesome, sasuga the queen HoT always giving me shivers, her conviction are amazing to see in each of her expression HoF are the most emotional (it's also the most shonen-ish, the power of connection)
Just a reminder that the key of flames judgment of shamesh was so powerful, that the core inside needed to be split in half in order for it be accessed by more people. And that is only with limited access to the herrscher powers. Imagine how powerful the flame herrscher with full control over her powers would be like. I think people underestimate how beautiful herrscher of ice/star/rimestar's story was. They deserved so much more spotlight than what they actually got. It is a fine mixure of love and tragedy, emotion and destruction.

i think it ties in really well with the themes the honkai story has told repeatedly, of love and sacrifice. owl loved ana and sacrificed himself bc he believed she could still be saved, and gave her his herrscher core so that she can live just a little longer :') i like how honkai carries these story themes through almost every character

Fu Hua Pheonix Down (white haired - White/red/orange clothes) outfit from Shattered Samsara is the best character design in the game.

I barely know anything about Honkai Impact's story but these animations give me goosebumps from the quality alone.
Meis transformation with the whole inner dialogue and farewell to herself is still supreme to me, partly because of the CN VA
HoS was kinda nonchalant
HoF is ofc another level, but thats kinda cheating too.
Mei's Herrscher transformation in Lament of the Fallen was VERY well built up imo, moreover it happens in a very tragical context : Mei having to fight Kiana to save her, thus parting ways from her.

@@blazesona12 without Mei staying with WS there lacks an anchor to bridge the gap and further expand on them naturally without cutting to them outta the blue every now and then. Now that Kiana is no longer suicidal and has worked through her traumas Mei has no dire reason to stay as Kianas no longer a danger to herself, but keeping in line with how she's trying to save Kiana it would make sense that she stays in an attempt to bring everything to an end without involving her. This is flawed btw since Mei would eventually have to come after her core too with the path she's chosen further increasing the gap between them, but with Kiana now more determined than ever and in complete control, Meis bound to lose their next fight. The question is tho will that be enough to bring her back or will they stay on opposite sides until then end.
Basically simping for Kiana is really hard on her
HoF's animation hits different. I have personally been using Battle Storm, Scarlet Fusion and Blood Rose during HI3's humble beginning and seeing Himeko in it, I could barely hold my tears back...

Okay, to everyone who considering to play Honkai:
Honkai impact is a story driven game with a *lot* of dialogues. In a nutshell this is just a visual novel coated with hack n slash gameplay. I heavily recommend it if you're into reading dialogues and lore with having a lot of patience because you have to levelling up your rank level often to get into next chapters after you finished some.
But if you only care about gameplay and easily bored then full apologies, this game is not for you. I'm not gatekeeping HI3 at all but i just don't want to hear more people dropping this game because they expect HI3 to be just another light casual game.
Pardon for bad english since it's not my first language. Sorry if i went off as rude i don't meant to 🙇♀️
Edit: You can still enjoy the content even if you're not interested/too lazy/have no time to play the game through the webtoon (it's just a prequel though), wiki, tv tropes, and the cutscenes in order on youtube. It would be harder to fully understand the context this way but at least you can still enjoy some of Honkai content :D

Tbh, despite all the herscherrs we've seen, nothing will ever top Kiana's herscherr/HOV reveal. That moment still gives me goosebumps whenever I watch befall animation to this day. Not a single person can top the Queen herself

@@Dante45p in an interview miHoYo gave last year where they also talked about honkai, they said that it would take 3 more years to end the game story on earth, and with all the rumours of HI4 having Galaxy attached to it, i can see it happening.
Though, i do hope that it is a standalone game in order to get better graphics and that it is actually the continuation of the alien space manga.
