J-Pop companies have also trained artists as young as 9 years old. Many J-Pop artists began their training at that age. It's important to note that this training system has been in place for decades within the J-Pop industry.
It’s true that J-Pop companies have been training artists from a very young age. K-Pop companies have adopted a similar system, training their artists in a comparable manner. However, it's important to note that J-Pop has been using this approach since the 1990s.

yes they trained from 2017-2022 so they started pretty young to be as polished as they are today !! in fact most kpop companies have used this method of training since the 90s and have had trainees as young as 9 years old
No they don’t drop out of school, this is the norm for idols in general whether it be in Jpop or Kpop, over there you train in every aspect of being an idol, from dance and singing to how to behave and act in interviews and in public, with XG they also were learning Korean and English at the time, this is really the first time we get to see how these groups and idols are formed, pretty much every Kpop/Jpop groups even a lot of actors you see today went through the same training, groups like BTS, Black Pink, Aespa, Twice …. They all start young (grade school age) train for many years (can be as much as 10 years or more) prior to their actual debut
This is like my 4th time watching the dox and 3rd Reactor. It gets me every time….So impressed with them.
