I’ve been a server for 13+ years and every restaurant I’ve worked at we have our own code or card to ring in our orders under… she was lying to make it seem like it wasn’t her fault LOL

Yes they have codes but cheesecake factory has the option to just type in table number to open a check instead of going to all of the open tables under your name to open
The coincidence does make me think she messed up with the order. But it's definitely possible. I've rung in the wrong food under the wrong table a few times.

At a certain point you're doing yourself and the restaurant a favor by asking for a manager, unless you're making a documentary called Escape from the Cheesecake Factory.
I've waitressed before, but not at Cheesecake Factory. 😂 Depending on the situation, I'd just keep it moving or sometimes I would tell the customer what the issue was, whether it be my fault or not. But I'd never lie about adding to someone's order or whatever. And I'd never blame someone if it wasn't their fault. I usually owned up if it was me. Customers seem to appreciate that more.

It’s just sweet you laughed about that situation. Others may have ranted in a negative way, yet you guys were able to laugh soon after. Shows you enjoy time together honestly. Also yes absolutely, i waitresses for over 10 years. We 1000% blamed kitchen so our tips weren’t effected. Fun fact , if ppl don’t tip, we still pay taxes on said tip!! But still, I understand sometimes ppl don’t.

I’m the most impatient person when it comes to wait staff in a restaurant, and that’s a management problem. I wouldn’t have waited half a long as you for even a drink order, much less that long for my food or a corrected ticket, and I wouldn’t have been nice about it.

Cheesecake Factory is so hit or miss! A couple years ago they comped our bill and gave us free cake it was that bad. I think it’s the huge menu that overwhelms the staff or something idk.
Each restaurant/takeout experience one ups the previous one as the worst😂😂
One time we waited like 40min at a Red Robin for a waitress because the hostess sat us in a section that no one was assigned to 😐

🚨conspiracy confirmed🚨that waitress was LYING! 😂 I’m pretty sure at most restaurants, servers don’t have access to eachothers tabs. I’m curious - did she tell y’all the other server put the burgers on y’all’s tab BEFORE y’all wrote the tip? She could’ve said that in hopes of trying to save her tip!

Uhhhh I’m not sure how it works everywhere but servers usually have to enter a unique pin to login to the computer to put in orders so that sounds like BS

Your story times are always hilarious kiki 😂❤ so sorry that happened to you I’ve have something like that happen to me at a restaurant too when the waitress won’t come or literally takes forever or doesn’t check up on you & honestly it’s aweful & ruins the experience. I literally had to one time walk around and flag a waitress down to just get the check, if I were you though I’d never return to the Cheesecake Factory 😹
OMG I have had 2 AWFUL experiences at Cheesecake Factory. Once in Vegas, we sat for 30 minutes before we got water so we left. Another time we tried one by our house our hamburger that we requested to be medium well but it was rare…really rare. My husband sent it back and the customer sitting next to us, told us that if we didn’t complain he was going to for us. 😂 We’ll never go back there again!
Also when I read the thumbnail before watching I said to myself, it’s probably the Cheesecake Factory 😂
I haven’t eaten there much because we don’t have one in our city but I feel like every time I have eaten there out of town, I’ve had a bad experience. I don’t think they have high standards

The last time I went out to eat we waited forever for the server to come over. Our server basically never showed up and the other servers were stressed out having to apologize. I feel like that’s just the expectation now unfortunately… but I love when you guys laugh 😆
I eat at restaurants a lot and I always notice when a mistake is made and they have to remake the food, most of the time they don't comp the original food on the receipt. They try to charge me for my food and their mistake. When i bring it up to them, they always fix it, but they don't always apologize. Here's my conspiracy: I think they purposely charge us for the original food and then the re-make to get themselves a higher tip. They're hoping I overlook it and just tip based on the total. It makes me so mad. I think it's conniving and or careless
I promise it’s not on purpose because they want you to tip more. I was a server for years from age 16-23. And mistakes with the food happen everyday at every restaurant. The thing is, when the food goes out to the table wrong, the kitchen has to remake the food so servers/waiters are required to re-enter the food into the computer so that the kitchen makes it correctly and for inventory purposes. This is required regardless of whether it was your waiter’s fault or the kitchen’s fault. When the waiter brings the receipt, a lot of waiters forget because when you take dozens of tables a day, you just open the table on the computer, click print real fast, put the receipt in a black book, and drop it off to the table. Basically, none of the servers double check that the receipt is correct before dropping it off because 99% of the time, it’s correct. So it’s just an oversight. Where I can see a server/waiter doing it on purpose is if they’re too afraid/embarrassed to ask the manager to comp the incorrect food because the waiter made a mistake.
At basically every restaurant, managers are the only ones who are able to delete or comp something from a bill. This is to prevent servers/waiters from stealing.
Another thing to note: if this happens, and you’re curious whether the food coming out incorrect was the waiter’s fault or the kitchen’s fault, you can usually tell from the receipt. If you were charged twice for the same exact thing, then it was most likely the kitchen’s fault. For example, if you ordered a chicken alfredo but you get shrimp alfredo and the receipt is charging you for two chicken alfredos, then this was a kitchen error. Additionally, most temperature errors for burgers and steaks are 99% of the time a kitchen error. This little tip can help you when trying to scope out if the waiter is lying because a lot of the time when waiters make a mistake they’ll blame it on the kitchen to try to save their tip.

I was a server for 7 years and appalled at your story lol. Sounds like she definitely rang in the wrong item and was trying to recover her tip lol..tons of servers blame everyone but themselves. I always owned up to my mistakes and people appreciated that lol
Okay so as a person who has worked in the restaurant industry for 20+ years, I think I have an answer to ur conspiracy 😅 I think ur original server actually messed up and put in for 2 skinnylicious burgers and during ur stay it became shift change and original server gave next shift server ur table or transferred the check to 2nd server…… so 2nd server put in 2 impossible burgers on same check and forgot to take off the skinnylicious burgers and then blamed who ever for her mistake…….for some reason servers blame anyone else and just don’t own up to mistakes etc….. unfortunately with how the workforce is going in this economy, restaurants will hire people who have never served a day in their lives just to get employees in the building…..sucks u had that experience but love how u and Jarvis make it into a fun story time!!!
As for servers blaming others… as a prior server, I can confirm. I would blame the kitchen for nearly everything
I worked for the cheesecake factory, 10 years. Dressings are in the back and prep but mustard should be up front, so idk about that.
Also, yes another server can add things to your check. You just put in the table number, if a server is in a rush, they might put table 61 instead of 51. I think she messed up, couldnt handle her tables and was trying to save face.
I have always hated lying to i would fess up. I once forgot to ring in 2 steaks, med well, on a Friday night and freaked out, told the chef, he said he'd tell the table they messed them up but i had already told them. 30% of the time people are understanding, 70%, they treat you like a child, look at you with disdain, and request something free in return.
Don't return that free gift!!!! ULTA doesn't care 🤣

Yea she was just a horrid server. Served for 10+ years and those kinds of servers are just not cut out for it. She probably sat around on her phone in the back and hung out with friends.
I didn't blame people for things but it's a very low possibility someone rang in an order on her account. That's only happened once in all the years I served.
