Do you have the fan blowing into the freezer area or extracting from the freezer area? Also do you have a picture of the shoud around freezer that has the hole. How did you do that part?
Lovely Ep, The motor panel switch board that feeds power to the Compressor on most of the fridges. has different letters the one with the letter F it stands for Fan, if you got power from it the to run that little fan, The compressor would start, then power goes to the F and will run the Fan and when the compressor stops so does the Fan
I did this with a 90mm fan with it blowing in the hole I made and with the fridge set on 2, I am only getting about -1 to -3 in the freezer. Is your setup blowing in or out from the freezer ?

Just picked up a new (used) vehicle with an upright fridge in a canopy, this vid might come in very helpful. Should help keep beers nice and cold for after rides & ski trips 🤙🍻 cheers
Should have hooked the fan to the 12v supply to to compressor so it works when compressor is working. It will basically self regulate and be alotbmore efficient
Good job. You could run a wire from the condenser fan to power it when the compressor is going, or add in a two way switch so you can have it on, off, or with condenser fan only. Another guy added a temp controller as well as the fan so it would only come on at preset temps keeping the fridge space more precisely temp controlled. Have you noticed any deviation in ur freezer space temp? TFS. Cheers
Where you have mounted the fan on the side of the freezer, is it just attached to the side or did you make a hole in the freezer wall to draw out cool air?

Where is the hole you made on the side of the freezer? And how big is it

Cant beat a cold beer after a ride
Very Cool.. Im a little nervous about drilling through the fridge.. but this hack looks well worth the effort.
Hey thanks mate. I filled the entire hole with silicone. That part of the fridge is actually pretty thin
@@handsonadventures warranty void?
how has the mod held up? just bough the 110L for my caravan i might need to do this mod
thanks
It is going great i don’t leave the fan on all the time, just when we are away camping with the fridge fully packed

Yeah thats a good idea
How’s this mod going? Are you finding the freezer still freezes? And do you find the fridge not running for as long?
Going well mate, has helped to stop the condensation in the freezer.
Thinking having that towel under the freezer will block the cold air from dropping into the fridge cavity. Do you have it in there all the time?

Just got one of these home and had a look, any reason you didn't drill through under the vented cover where you take the power?
How did you cut the hole in your freezer did you just drill holes or ? I’m about to do this to mine
be good if you could wire that into the compressor feed
Good video did you fit a temperate controller so fans comes on then off or is it running full time
Hey mate what about the light is that 5v or 12v
bloody genius mate!
Thanks mate
Hi mate did you only cut a hole into the plastic shroud
Should throw up a vid of your rig setup mate
Will do man.. cheers
Nice work mate
What size fan did you install
Im pretty sure this one was just a 40mm fan. Its all it needs
Where you have mounted the fan on the side of the freezer, is it just attached to the side or did you make a hole in the freezer wall to draw out cool air?
I cut out a small hole for better air flow
Won't work, your fridge has to be manually defrosted, it has nothing to do with air circulation, especially in an 85 litre fridge
Why
Its is working well mate, its not a cure its a prevention.
It’s not defrosting the fridge. It’s stopping it from icing up 😂
Would like to see you hooked wire up in motor bay on video.
It is connected to main power with a small switch.
Hello, Hands On Adventures. How does it work, and could you provide a link for purchasing a fan? Thank you.
How big hole did u make in side of freezer?
Just enough for the inside of the fan.
Hey , have you liked having the kings fridge in the canopy?
Yep sure have mate its great
you can come do mine :D
