I don’t know about humble, but rhythm wise this was of the best episodes of the podcast. Never particularly cared for the guy, but what an absolute pro!
I grew up with Saturday Night Live, but I'm old enough now that my memory is hazy. I was surprised when Billy Crystal reminded us that he'd only been there a year. In my mind, he's a fixture. Like he was there for years. That's how good he was.
Billy Crystal's sharp wit and calm demeanor whilst delivering real bangers was unmatched. Beyond that, he just had a unique panache like Robin W or Eddie M or Pryor or Steve M that stood out. Treasure of a performer.
After Robin Williams died, Billy was talking to Whoopie and said he used to have very long phone conversations with Robin. They would go into adlibbed bits and not even talk as themselves, just riffing off each other. Some of those conversations must have been gems 😂❤
I remember that SNL with Billy as Fernando interviewing "Barry Manilow." That year with him, Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, Martin Short, and others was one of the best. It was during the period that Lorne Michaels was away, I believe the season just before he returned to produce the show again, so you don't see it repeated as often anywhere, sadly.
That Florida Keys montage with Billy & Gregory is pure dopamine. Can turn any bad mood around. Would love to hear Billy Crystal talk more about that movie.
At 5:05 Billy brings up needing 2 minutes to get a laugh, then almost exactly 2 minutes later he gets a huge laugh... I choose to believe he knew what he was doing
I saw that Fernando’s Hideaway with “Barry Manilow” and thought it was hilarious. I was too young to see it the first time around, but I’d see repeats of SNL growing up somehow. Maybe they did more prime time specials than I realized, but I saw all those great skits from the 70s and 80s after in the mid to late 80s. Billy Crystal is a treasure and cannot think of a movie of his I didn’t like.
For anyone reading this, and you're a fan of Billy Crystal and never watched his Running Scared, please do. It's a hilarious buddy cop comedy with Gregory Hines. I highly recommend
I heard it on Inside the Actors Studio. The movie was "Shane" and at the end when Alan Ladd rides off the little boy calls out after him "Come back Shane! Come back!" Billie says "Oh he ain't never coming back!"
@@fargoretrothe ads are put directly in the video by Team Coco, having UA-cam premium will not remove them. I have it and the ads are still annoying and interrupt mid sentence
No it's not. All you need to do is press right on your keyboard or double/triple tap on your phone a few times to skip. Easy. It's like complaining about having to fast forward on a movie scene you don't like. There are SO many harder things to do in this world.
I understand the ads are necessary... but we all know there is NO WAY Sona will put her house on Airbnb😅 She didn't even want to sit in a taxi🤭 But appreciate the effort lol
Crystal/Winkler or Winkler/Crystal 2024 Is what we need if we are going to have celebrity presidents. Not kidding. (And Conan as press secretary lolol) Billy and Eddie saved the show btw…if you were alive at the time, you know how almost all of Crystals characters were “viral” at the time.
My name is, Brennan Johnson I am Marian Gold online manager. He requested I connect you with him yesterday, he saw your profile while scrolling through his page and your picture caught his attention!!
Can anyone explain why they don't show the entite podcast in video, but only clips? I want to see Billy Crystal and Al Pacino but it's only audio on Spotify and a couple 8min clips on yt. They clearly shot the podcast, why not air the entire podcast then? So frustrating
I like Billy Crystal, he’s great. That said, if I’m honest, I’ll take a fourth monologue from George Carlin over a tight five from a 25-year old Billy Crystal every time.

I realize that most people that have UA-cam channels are monetizing their content. We live in a capitalistic society so I get it. But when I paid for UA-cam Premium I expected not to have to sit through commercials. I see now that expectation was faulty. I can’t speak for anyone else but as soon as someone starts advertising something I immediately turn it off. If I subscribe to a channel that continues to push a product or service I unsubscribe. I’m sure I’m not alone in this.
Gen Z: Who's Conan? Millennials: Who's Billy Crystal? Gen X: Oh he was great in City Slickers. Glad he's still alive. Boomers: Oh that kid? Gen A: Goo Goo Gaa Bird.
The placement of the ads in the last three of Conan's videos I've watched is terrible! I know the ads have to be there, but maybe not mid-conversation. Let a thought be finished. I've simply given up on this video. It completely crashed what Billy and co. were discussing.
I could listen to Billy Crystal tell stories all day. Dude is a legend and so humble.

Oh, he's humble alright... You ask him! He'll tell ya!
Lucky you, he's on Graham Norton this week

Billy Crystal just comes across as a wholesome and genuine guy. I could listen to him talk for hours.
Running Scared was strangely my first Billy Crystal exposure. Running around Chicago in the snow with Gregory Hines, it was fun.

Geez, I really miss that guy. I still can't believe he's gone... 😔😥🥺
Billy Crystal was always grounded, that’s the secret to any long career.
“These things are so much bigger than us. Everyone’s trajectory is probably the trajectory they’re supposed to have.” It’s true.
Man, I've been watching you for years, and still feels like yesterday when Soap aired.
Soap was great. So funny
SOAP saved me from taking myself out. I wanted to disappear, and thought about Bert.
Lorne’s vision for the first episode was Crystal clear
Beautifully done.
Since my father killed himself I’ll be mad at you for this ridiculously good dad joke.
*slow clap
Woaaaaww, ya know.
It was cleared of crystal honestly.
The Hideaway with Hulk Hogan and Mr. T is one of my all-time favorite SNL sketches, possibly THE greatest.
Only time I ever saw Mr T laugh.
Best thing that happened to Bill. Soap was hilarious, and who can forget When Harry Met Sally, stroke of genius 😊

Billy has aged well.
Yes, he's looking so good!~
He looks marvelous!
He's always had that entertaining older uncle tone and cadence in his voice. So his voice and way of speaking hasn't changed a bit.
This was an amazing episode, love Billy Crystal! Anyone remember him in "Running Scared" with Gregory Hines? Great movie.

That was a great movie.
great movie
He did that jungle skit at University of Florida's Gator Growl 1n 1986, bowl of Potatoe chips, audience doing bird calls, never forget it. Great bit!
Billy looks great. Legend. He should have his own awards show. The Billy Crystals Awards.
When Harry Met Sally is just THE romantic movie for me
One of my ALL time favorites, billy crystal, Bill Murray and Eddie Murphy
Oh my God how could I forget Robin Williams

It was something like an earlier version of when Kumail Nanjiani couldn't make his appearance on _Conan_ and Sona stepped in to be interviewed.
I remember watching that moment on TV “You have no lines Gary”
I've just re-watched City Slickers yesterday...
12:45 “Manilow just canceled” then “WHAT ARE YOU-“ 😂. We gotta get Barry Manilow on the podcast.
We're all watching like Sona at 9:40. Billy is a Legend!
Sona is pretty much the audience we lost on the Conan show.
