I tried explaining to my 13 year old kid a while back, that Netflix used to send us movies in the mail. She didn’t believe me.

they need money to not cancel lol so people need to buy their own accounts and get their friends to sign up so we can watch it for 25 more yrs to come
other tv subscriptions do this too, it's sad, i wanted a sequal to dark crystal series!

@@pongchannel. netflix has most shows that are relevant and movies than any other platform lol its the other platform that have 1 or 2 shows are good then rest is all either outdated or irrelevant stuff.
It has been an amazing journey. Netflix made my childhood. And every day I went to school, there was always that kid who couldn’t stop talking about that movie on Netflix. You’ve come a long way, and deserve to be celebrated. Congratulations and happy anniversary!

Never would I have thought netflix would become the streaming Giant it's become. I remember becoming a subscriber in 2003 for the 3 DVDs plan then upping to 5 dvds, so I could rent out tv shows more efficiently. I remember when streaming was an afterthought and the selection was meh at best. 5-8 years later, it's the main focus....10 years later, it's the norm.

@@jjsh29 Yes. But you could keep them as long as you want and there were no late fees like with video stores.

Wow, not being from the States and realising Netflix has been around for as long as you have but it only garnered international recognition after about a decade is an incredible inspirational story

I remember we finally got Netflix back in the mid 00s, after months of begging my mom. I spent years watching movies and sending them back. I remember when they initially introduced streaming, you were limited to a few hours every month. Later, it was unlimited streaming, and then they started with their original programming. House of Cards is what convinced me that streaming could really be a thing.
Honestly, Netflix help me in my tough Days when I'm getting bored, sick, alone.... So thank you keep doing this ❤️ i really appreciate your efforts 😊.

Been a fan of Netflix since 2002. Gonna keep subscribing (unless you guys do something totally off the wall). I am happy with all of the choices and options and LANGUAGES.

I remember Netflix and Lovefilm, you would order DVD's to be posted to your house, it was great. I love how much Netflix has grown giving us great series/films like Dark Crystal series, Black Mirror, Locke and Key, Inventing Anna and so much more!

I remember when Netflix used to be DVDs in the mail. That’s how me and my dad watched the entire Star Trek series. Good times and good memories

huh, I thought Netflix came out in the early 2010s and got its start in 2013 with the first Netflix exclusive Turbo F.A.S.T., but wow, never expected Netflix to be as old as the internet, but I'm pretty sure it only became a household name when Turbo F.A.S.T. came out

My parents first got Netflix when I was about 7 yrs old. When Netflix started streaming, we first streamed it on the wii. They had a wii app lol

Orange is the New Black and House of Cards are the two shows which broke the ground for Netflix.
"That's the thing about Netflix, you don't know if your favorite show is going to be cancelled"
Here is something that Netflix does not know yet but will find out in the future, due to statistics: People did stop watching shows not because they are not good. Of course some of them are better and some of them are worse. But the mainreason ist: They stopped watching them because all of a sudden their favourite shows are being cancelled and the engagement was for nothing. Because of that, people only start watching a show, when it is finished nowadays. So there are two options here:
1. Stop milking shows untill almost nobody watches them anymore (Like Sabrina). Finish them as they were planned in the beginning. That is how you grow a fanbase for life.
2. 2-3 Seasons top. Maybe sometimes even just one. And make mini Series. A movie is not enough content and a complete series is just too long. Mini Series of 6-8 Episodes tops? Perfect! :)
