The Littoral Combat Ships are a classic failure. They never met the intended mission. They could not be easily modified. One class suffered from fatigue cracking. The other suffered from power train issues. To make matters worse it seems Congress wanted the ships more than the navy. Poor ideas, worse execution.
Sadly they are finishing the last few of these.But yes they are decommissioning these.Because they super structure is made from aluminium. And is rotting away.and the module different mission things dont really work ect.pos waist of $
Aren't these being decommissioned? They certainly aren't new.
They stopped making these a few years ago unless they started it back up that I don't know about
