Ben Barnes is such an underrated talented actor.He is a package deal. A good actor with perfect looks he needs to have lots of projects with those talents.

I have a soft spot for this film and this song for sure. Ben Barnes is one hell of a talent.
Exactly same for me! It was super special and crucial time of my life when I came across to that movie. Never forgot how that made me feel every single time ,I remember and feel exactly same.

Also for this movie he did not know how to play guitar. He took intensive lessons for several months. He obviously had a natural talent for guitar because of the way he picks. I know many musicians and great guitar players.....some were in awe cause that talent does not come by often! A friend who plays many styles of guitar and has been playing for over 25 years can't even pick the way Ben does!
is not doing anything special. It kills me when people who know nothing about music made qualitative judgements. YES he has a great voice. I wonder who these "great musicians" you know are? If you watch the video the guy with the finger picks is doing all the fancy pick work. Ben is just flat picking. Easy chords. Its a nice song, but dont make him out to be something he's not.

This song is written by nick hans, the one finger picking on the guitar. Most of the music on this soundtrack was made by him and lyle the guy playing fiddle

It makes me want to hit the open road and see where life takes me!!! I've played this song so much that my son who is 9 knows the entire song!!
love how at the end it took a moment for the fiddle player to snap out of the zone he was in. They were all really moved by this song. Great scene.
Who agrees Ben Barnes and Jamie Blackley (from If I Stay) are those actors who really can sing very well than singers nowadays.
He used to be a singer in a boy band (i forgot the name) so he obviously could sing pretty good!
I had no idea until recently that Ben Barnes was was also a talented singer and musician. I've seen him talk about this film in his interviews, he seemed really proud of the music. After watching this clip, I definitely need to check it out, it looks right up my street.
It's kind of mad that this man has so much talent and its not like he's just a passable singer either, he's brilliant and I would pay for his music.

I just finished watching the movie. I liked it a lot. It's two strangers passing by and bumps into each other and then form a deep and meaningful connection. That's so relatable to me. No cheesy love angle, no uber romantic stuff, just the reality. I love the fact that the movie is open to interpretations, I would like to believe that they will meet each other again some day after they work out on the issues at hand (they are still in contact). So, for me it's a happy ending.
Talking about the song, this song ties together the entire movie so well, it's just wonderfully done. And Ben's voice sound so soothing and magical.

one of those films i thank Netfix for watched it yesterday and love it to slow pace i guess for most but enjoyed it the film was shot in less than a month great song Southbound and if the actor was actually sing and playing it he should seriously consider doing music as well for a living he was great
