But if Dani had any information about the real reason why she was crying, she would not have been holding on. I think in that moment, when Dani figured it out, she knew Sophie was sorry because she was able to connect back to Sophie crying and holding Dani as well. This is why they were able to hold hands and just talk a bit at the end. Very sad scene.
This scene is everything… the conversation between them is so real! And Ari’s acting in this scene is absolutely amazing and brilliant… and when she said “i was holding you that night, wasn’t I”? Is heartbreaking 💔
At the end of day its just a show but having gone through a similar experience(minus the wedding bit) with my ex, I could relate to that painful feeling of betrayal and hurt by someone you believed was your ride or die💔
Yes, this scene was perfect. Both actors played their part well. I truly believe here Dani’s pain is so great but she seems to want to forgive Sophie, even now because she gave Sophie her other hand and she listened. Sophie seemed very sorry as well. I hope they work things out.

I really don't think Dani's character has it in her to be a cheater because in episode 2x06 I think..the Karaoke one she asks Sophie 'does everyone cheat' like she is genuinely shocked that everyone she knows has cheated or causing someone to cheat in some form or another, so No I don't think Dani has it in her to do that to someone else.

Sophie and Dani were always two worlds apart. I don't know how they maintained to have a relationship for years because they have no chemistry in my opinion.
I think Sophie has a lot of work to do, starting by respecting the limits of people and how they deal with things. She always pressed Dani to talk to her without offering real support and judging her for needing time alone. Sophie never told Dani how she felt, only complained about it with everyone else. I'm glad Dani is not getting back with Sophie, they are not on the same level of maturity.

They spent time together every episode until the last couple when the campaign was about to close and dani was filling 2 positions bc the campaign manager quit. She had plenty of opportunities to say what she wanted to say instead all she said was "talk to me". Furthermore, if she can't wait a few weeks while her fiance is doing the most important work she's ever done in her life without cheating then she doesn't need to be getting married anyway

Sophie NEVER gave a chance for Dani to breathe let alone process her thoughts before Sophie would berate, scream at Dani saying "TALK TO ME", and judge for needing some space to think. She continues to bully Dani to try and talk to her when she never listens to her own advice - instead going to talk to everyone(about her own feelings) but Dani. Sophie was never once supportive, or showed any patience to Dani.
Exactly. Another thing people forget is Dani TRIED to be there for Sophie at the hospital but Sophie insisted she was fine. Dani listened to Sophie and that was portrayed like it meant she didn’t care because she didn’t push to stay when Sophie told her not to. The reality is, not all people can read between the lines in these types of situations and won’t see past what the person is telling them which is common when you lack empathy. People who lack empathy need people to be honest and direct with what they want or need from them. Now lacking empathy doesn’t mean you’re heartless and don’t care, it just means you struggle understanding people’s feelings and reading the room. It’s a common trait to have when you’re on the spectrum or have adhd too. I’m honestly so sick of media villainizing those who lack empathy, and portraying us as heartless shitty partners, it’s really gross. :/

I would Forgive yes. Get back together, no. The intimate trust has been broken. Dani definitely played a part in the breakdown of the relationship, but Sophie should have communicated that w her and allowed her to understand her role. Dani spent the better half of last season unavailable to Sophie, particularly emotionally, but she opened up to Bette. Let’s not forget about her crushing on Bette. Meanwhile, continuously, telling Sophie she doesn’t have anything say every time Sophie tried to talk to her. And telling Finley, she’s giving it all she’s got. She also made decisions about her career without first discussing it with Sophie. So, from my vantage point, Dani was slipping.

When I watched all I thought about was how everyone was concerned with Finley and Sophie’s emotions no one gave thought to Dani’s emotions and she was the one that was cheated on .During the poker episode I wanted to remind Alice and saying how when Bette dod cheat on Tina everybody went to comfort her because she was the affronted one.If anyone can’t remember for a while they were all hanging out with Tina and leave in bette to the wayside because she’s the one that cheated.
Right ? I thought so too. Literally no one except maybe bette was there to support Dani. Everyone went to side with Sophie or Finley. The writers atleast could have included some scenes in which the other characters acknowledge Dani is hurt 🤕

And Ms.Karma came a callin... Not saying what Sophie and Fin did was right, but Dani did cheat before Sophie hurled herself over a cliff with Fin for sure. And Bette is no angel waiting in the wings either. Thank goodness Shane checked her @ss on that too. She lost Tina and her friends chose Tina. Except Shane. Talk about throwing stones with people in glass houses. She had an affair! This is a very tough unenviable situation for Sophie and Dani. They both won. And both they lost too.

I think in this episode, TLWGQ lost an oportunity to discuss violence and abusive relationships between women. Dani physically assaulted Finley, and it was taken as some sort of a joke, like she deserved it. Finley didn't get ANY support, and actually was punished by losing her job. Would it be so "natural" if it was a man punching her? Why are such practices in lesbian relationships so taken for granted?
I have nuanced feelings on how Dani reacted to Finley, but the first time I watched the scene with her and Sophie I truly thought Dani was going to hit Sophie. Dani at the very least had hints of being physically threatening toward Sophie and it definitely would have been something worth providing social commentary on.
Poor Dani, I'm proud of her though for not letting her guard down so soon although I bet they end up together in the end. I'm hoping Sofie knows that Finley isn't relationship material, she's a fuck better at best nothing more nothing less but she is definitely not wifey status at all. They spent time together every episode until the last couple when the campaign was about to close and dani was filling 2 positions bc the campaign manager quit. She had plenty of opportunities to say what she wanted to say instead all she said was "talk to me". Furthermore, if she can't wait a few weeks while her fiance is doing the most important work she's ever done in her life without cheating then she doesn't need to be getting married anyway

Sophie NEVER gave a chance for Dani to breathe let alone process her thoughts before Sophie would berate, scream at Dani saying "TALK TO ME", and judge for needing some space to think. She continues to bully Dani to try and talk to her when she never listens to her own advice - instead going to talk to everyone(about her own feelings) but Dani. Sophie was never once supportive, or showed any patience to Dani.
Exactly. Another thing people forget is Dani TRIED to be there for Sophie at the hospital but Sophie insisted she was fine. Dani listened to Sophie and that was portrayed like it meant she didn’t care because she didn’t push to stay when Sophie told her not to. The reality is, not all people can read between the lines in these types of situations and won’t see past what the person is telling them which is common when you lack empathy. People who lack empathy need people to be honest and direct with what they want or need from them. Now lacking empathy doesn’t mean you’re heartless and don’t care, it just means you struggle understanding people’s feelings and reading the room. It’s a common trait to have when you’re on the spectrum or have adhd too. I’m honestly so sick of media villainizing those who lack empathy, and portraying us as heartless shitty partners, it’s really gross. :/

Dani spent the better half of last season unavailable to Sophie, particularly emotionally, but she opened up to Bette. Let’s not forget about her crushing on Bette. Meanwhile, continuously, telling Sophie she doesn’t have anything say every time Sophie tried to talk to her. And telling Finley, she’s giving it all she’s got. She also made decisions about her career without first discussing it with Sophie. So, from my vantage point, Dani was slipping.

When I watched all I thought about was how everyone was concerned with Finley and Sophie’s emotions no one gave thought to Dani’s emotions and she was the one that was cheated on .During the poker episode I wanted to remind Alice and saying how when Bette dod cheat on Tina everybody went to comfort her because she was the affronted one.If anyone can’t remember for a while they were all hanging out with Tina and leave in bette to the wayside because she’s the one that cheated.
Right ? I thought so too. Literally no one except maybe bette was there to support Dani. Everyone went to side with Sophie or Finley. The writers atleast could have included some scenes in which the other characters acknowledge Dani is hurt 🤕

Thinking back on it, when Sophie said to Finely she was "sAvInG her" and then coming back to watch this scene Sophie was still trying to fool and lead Dani on by trying to win Dani back after the wedding fiasco. Telling her she loves her and shit when they both knew it wasn't true.

I think in this episode, TLWGQ lost an oportunity to discuss violence and abusive relationships between women. Dani physically assaulted Finley, and it was taken as some sort of a joke, like she deserved it. Finley didn't get ANY support, and actually was punished by losing her job. Would it be so "natural" if it was a man punching her? Why are such practices in lesbian relationships so taken for granted?
I have nuanced feelings on how Dani reacted to Finley, but the first time I watched the scene with her and Sophie I truly thought Dani was going to hit Sophie. Dani at the very least had hints of being physically threatening toward Sophie and it definitely would have been something worth providing social commentary on.
