At first I hated this song as the theme of Enterprise, but it dud grow on me and when it was combined with the images it really perfectly symbolized the series. The imagry showed mankind's evolution of vessels used for exploration, reflected on the Vulcans' holding humanity back, and it's gets more triumphant as it goes.
I never understood the dislike for the theme or the starting of Enterprise. I know that it wasn't the grand orchestral piece we Trek fans were used to, but the theme of hope and optimism while paying tribute to the early pioneers of space exploration was IMO, so appropriate and inspirational. The perfect opening for Star Trek Enterprise.
Haha yes I felt the same thing! In the first few episodes I didn't like it at all, so I'd always skip past it, then for some reason after about 10 episodes in, i watched it and it just instantly grew on me. Now I can't watch an episode without watching the opening credits, its so good! This version here is decent, a lil bit of country
Cool. This cover is as awesome as Rod Stewart's original version--as heard in the 1998 Universal Picture "Patch Adams"--and Russell Watson's cover that was later used as the opening theme tune for "Star Trek: Enterprise." Thank you very much indeed for posting and sharing.
I really liked Russell's cover and Rod....well, it's own kind of excellence. But there's nothing quite like hearing the writer's vision. It is my favorite. Thank you, Susan.
Didn’t know there was a version of a female singer. Detected it accidentally on UA-cam. Still prefer the versions of the male singers but it is not bad either. Anyway a great song. Love it forever
Ok yeah this is better than the original. It took the song the direction it absolutely needed to go. More Dixie Chicks, less Creed. With a touch of Celine Deion that just makes it a 90s nostalgia bomb for a Gay Oklahoman. Well done Susan Ashton. This was how the song was meant to be heard.
First time I've ever heard this rendition. If you've never heard it sung by Rod Stewart or Russell Watson, then this is good, but since I've heard (and immensely enjoy) the others, this one is just to different for me to personally enjoy it.
The arrangement on this version is so much simpler and clean..russel can sing damn well but i definitely think the musical arrangement for enterprise was excesive..too much background sounds..this version from susan is so damn right. It is a fine piece of musc but i dont get why startrek didnt do something original for enterprise ..it killed the mood..
Maybe singed in a different style (country it's not a good style for space) it could be greater with her voice than Russell. Anyway i hate Russell voice, Rod has a better one.
What I learned Gene Roddenberry publicly marketed Star Trek as a Western in outer space-a so-called "Wagon Train to the Stars". Really? I'm the opposite. I don't like Rod Stewart's voice. Lol. I enjoyed both Russell Watson and Susan Ashton singing the song. They sound so much better than Rod Stewart. I think the song totally fits the intro of Star Trek: Enterprise perfectly and I think it is a good song too. Of course it's not your traditional Star Trek intro but I still enjoy it and apparently Star Trek: Discovery kind of broken the tradition also but still using a score without lyrics and wondering if Star Trek: Picard will follow of breaking the tradition too. Lol. And I like some country along with Rock, Swing and most other popular music.
Wow. I can genuinely say that I've now heard the absolute worst cover of an inspirational song ever produced - and that absolutely devoid of meaning. Robotically squawking the most influential lyrics in a song like this makes the singer look like more amateur than the karaoke singer who gets nervous about eyes watching. And seriously, you can tell by her delivery that she has never "known a wind so cold [or] seen the darkest day."
I Love that song, and susan ashton did a great job singing, thank you .
Wonderful cover of this song. I love the Enterprise theme and fell in love with this version.,
👍👍👍
I've watched Star Trek Enterprise for years but never knew Susan sang this. So Cool!

Agreed
we trekkies have a hard time with change, I hated this at first too, but after a bit. It just was perfect.

agreed, the perfect metaphor.

You sing so beautifully.
wonderful voice!
Such a wonderful song. It doesn't really seem to matter who records. I've loved every version that I've heard thus far.
She has one hell of a voice, will say that. love this song

Stewart's original version? Well, Faith of the Heart was written by Diane Warren, Stewart only sang it for Patch Adams and Watson for Enterprise ...

Wow...❤❤
Belissima música, maravilhosa letra, belissima série Enterprise! (Beautiful music, wonderful lyrics, beautiful series Enterprise!)
WOW , THIS SONG IS AWESOME , I LOVE IT !
I really liked Russell's cover and Rod....well, it's own kind of excellence. But there's nothing quite like hearing the writer's vision. It is my favorite. Thank you, Susan.
Great song for a country cover
Its like it's being sung by an angel 🥰😇
Well, she does sing mostly gospel songs.
Beautiful song , sue 💞
great rendition of this song. what other female country singers could sing this song as good?
Trisha Yearwood would be an excellent choice in my book or even Martina McBride
@@tonyatreat7420 your right , good call
Susan is actually a gospel singer.
Didn’t know there was a version of a female singer. Detected it accidentally on UA-cam. Still prefer the versions of the male singers but it is not bad either. Anyway a great song. Love it forever

Ich mag diesen Song einfach !!!👍👍👍👍👍

Lt. Ashton, Warp Five, if you please. 2nd star on the right, and on till daybreak! Let's see what's out there...

Thanks for uploading this(:
Ava Marie well I hate it
You might hate it, K. But I LOVE it.
Love the banjo it sounds like the water feature from the sword fight in Kill Bill vol2
I do prefer this to the Russell Watson version but still the Rod Stewart version is my favorite
ai que legaauu
Best musique
A more country-style version :) Like this one too, but i prefer Rod Stewart.

Nice Version, but i have to think ENT... and that doesnt fits like the Russel Watson version
Maybe singed in a different style (country it's not a good style for space)
it could be greater with her voice than Russell. Anyway i hate Russell voice,
Rod has a better one.
Weedopia that's not true, if you know the way how StarTrek starts. It was an Star Western.

Trip would listen to this version
where's this woman pop
out from?
Susan is more well known as a Contemporary Christian artist. A good start is to listen to her albums Wakened By The Wind and Angels of Mercy.
Susan is a gospel singer.
I find the original harsh and rasping to my ear. I like its version just what I was looking for from a great voice..
英語初心者には彼女の方が
ロッドスチュアートよりも英語の発音が聞き取り易い。
Nice version but it's not as good as Rod Stewart's or Russel Watson's versions.
What the heck is this? Whatever happened to Rusull watson? That's what I what to know.
Really good cover, but not as good as the original
Es buena para variar y sentir la hermosa letra en otra interpretación
