    Guys, I gotta tell ya... I live 2 miles from Barclays. The only other time I was that excited about a team was in the '90s with Ewing, Starks, Oakley, etc.. Brooklyn was buzzing for like a year. But we never got off the ground and everyone was hugely disappointed. We especially wanted to see hometown Kyrie succeed. But I had a huge bad feeling after Coach Kenny was pushed out. I can tell you why they hated Jarrett Allen. It’s because Kyrie was mad that Kenny Atkinson was playing him more than DeAndre Jordan. It’s ultimately why he got fired, Kyrie did an interview saying he hated how Kenny Atkinson made them run drills.
    As for Steve Nash, it actually wasn’t Kevin Durant. It was the general manager Sean Marks who was a former teammate of Nash when they were on the Suns. KD wanted Ty Lue according to a report by ScoopB

    • @pashanamir6151
      @pashanamir6151 4 місяці тому

      Honestly I think you’re wrong. They had the highest rated offense in the nba together. And weirdly with harden accepting a more playmaking focused role they kind of all worked well at moving the ball around and playing advantage basketball. The reason in my opinion that this is the biggest fail in nba history is they genuinely never played together except for one first round series. A combination of Injuries off the court issues and a lack of patience ruined this team. And imo that’s why it failed which is just sad

    They remind me a lot of the '97 Rockets with Olajuwon, Barkley and Drexler. I think that team peaked in the WCF if I recall correctly. Best big three in the NBA at the time, but they didn't have much depth and the Jazz were on a mission, much like the Bucks in 2021.

    Even though I’m a casual, I’ve never understood the Nets hype. Yes, from a purely star power and talent standpoint (except defense) they’re amazing. But these are some of the most unreliable superstars out there, not just from a controversial standpoint, but they’re all getting more injury prone as well. I will say however, this team lead to some amazing purely offensive games. Wasn’t one of the games like 150 points in a win? And the drama daily was amazing and hilarious, and throwing in Ben Simmons was just the cherry on top. It made me understand why people like watching reality shows.

      @@darnellwilliams8783 I don’t hate KD at all, but you’re welcome to assume. I genuinely don’t care who wins, I just think it’s funnier when certain teams lose; especially in dramatic fashion like this. It’s almost like watching the Cowboys but in the NBA. Sure it would be cool for the fans to see a win, but they find a way to lose, again in dramatic fashion.
      Also, that applies to one instance, what about the others involving Kyrie, KD, and Harden? Like we always make these excuses for KD but never do for people like Jordan, Kobe, or Lebron. We expect them to win regardless of the situation (even if it doesn’t logically make sense).

      Kyrie top 15? Top 15 most pretty play styles but dude was a stick on defense and his offense has always been overrated. 😂 without daddy Bron to guide him he is hopeless

    I mean. They lost by injuries and luck. Just like Kawhi’s Raptors by that lucky bounce. If it didnt bounce in, mighta had Sixers as champs

    No toe on the line and we will all be talking a different story but that’s just a what if. Everyone states how this team had bad defense but in reality they had a average one. When all 3 are playing together they would win 77% of the time but that’s where the issue stood. It would always be two at a time or a solo star game which I can imagine would be annoying for fans and management. Also for those who say they had overtime I agree, but let’s not act like kd didn’t play the whole game. What player would not be gassed after that especially as the main option to score with a harden who for some reason forgot how to put a layup in the basket. Not many ppl talk about it because he was injured but the man was consistently under the rim with a layup open yet he’d constantly look to pass. It got so bad that they literally opened the lane for him and played the pass over an open layup. As a rockets fan that infuriated me the most because I’ve seen it happen way too often. He didn’t hesitate to take very contested 3s but would suddenly get shy to take a layup that was given to him.

    Harden had every right to bounce. Kyrie was a cancer and that team wasn't gonna win anything with Mr. Dellusional on the roster.

    No, not really. Harden is a joke hyped by the media, but he is not a leader and he has proven not to be able to win a title or lead a team to the finals. Only a few seasons with really good stats, but far from winning anything. Kyrie Irwing is and has always been a cancer for any team. He won a ring with prime Lebron and Kevin Love, but again he isn't able to lead a team to the finals. Kevin Durant isn't as a fake as the other two but again, only won when in a team with the best two shooters in history who didn't need him to win titles. No, the Nets have been a bluff hyped by the media.

    Here’s the problem with star players today IMO: they have too much influence over the FO. When the Bulls traded Charles Oakley it was obviously the right thing to do but Michael Jordan bitched a fit
    In hindsight Jordan is a TERRIBLE GM and rightfully should have no influence over the Bulls roster despite the fact he’s the GOAT player.
    For Kyrie and KD to demand DJ get signed for the locker room, demand specific coaches, dislike Allen, etc etc etc it’s not their place and hamstrings a competent GM

    This team survived the regular season and 1st Round because nobody had film on Steve Nash's tendencies. I know Kyrie was injured and James Harden wasn't 100%, once that 2nd Round shifted to Fiserv Forum, you could see that the Bucks were exposing Nash's weaknesses. You don't use Mike James and pretend he's Kyrie first of all. And second of all, they made no adjustments to the Bucks' playstyle and just let Giannis get whatever he wanted. If the Nets didn't have home-court advantage in Games 5 and 7, they would have gotten killed. That's how lopsided this series was after Game 2. By the way, didn't they have a chance to bury the Bucks in Game 3 and fail to do so? They did. And I knew once they lost that game that Milwaukee was going to come back and win the series. Mike Budenholzer coached circles around Nash for the final 5 games of the series, and KD and Jeff Green were the only reasons this series went to 7 games. "But they were injured!" Well in the 1st Round that year, they faced a Celtics team that didn't have Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Al Horford and they didn't even sweep them. (Plus Tatum wasn't 100% either) Guess what happened the next year when Boston was healthy against them. BROOKLYN GOT SWEPT! Keep making excuses for injuries because they got out coached badly in those two losses even if they were healthy.
