    I came here to figure out what parts I needed for the new hand model to keep with my air rifle. Thats what I love about these, I can cast bullets for air rifles, or make my own ammo. I dont own a gun, but I might someday, and learning how to use this 1 press to reload a round, is awesome.

    Have learned so much from you. Thanks for showing up again. I'm having trouble justifying moving to a new resizing system when the present dies and bottle-catcher work pretty well (except for those instances when the bullet hangs up and pushes the whole container up spilling everything). My take on Lee is if you have time, don't mind tinkering and have a boat load of patience you can save a ton of money and still make great ammunition.

      Thanks for your kind words Jack. No reason to move to this platform unless you need several bushings, then it would be more cost effective. I really have a love hate relationship with Lee. They have made reloading affordable to the masses and many of the products they have designed are truly innovative. But it seems like there is always something that is just a tad off.

      Thanks so much for the nice comment. UA-cam is leaning on me because of my reloading how to videos. I have moved everything to GunStreamer and UGEtube. I will probably have to delete many videos here to keep from getting my channel completely banned.

      Hey Chicowize, I recognize you from the Reloaders network. Haven't talked to you personally, so howdy sir. Its a pretty useful kit and bushing changes are cheep and easy if you have a breech lock capable press.

    With the Lee APP and a 3D printed bullet feeder, these bushings are pretty slick. I’ve ordered some parts to see if I can’t set up an air cylinder…

    There were made for the Lee APP press, which can screw the dies on top or bottom of the shellplate area. The sizing die screws upside down to the bottom of the press and it auto-feeds a bullet on top of it. The bottle adapter hangs a bottle UNDER the press. I have all the old sizing dies, and with the bushing (like he has in the video) should still work. The old dies might be better as they can still fit in any press. You can of course, convert your RCBS to use Lee breechlock bushings (And also can convert it to the Hornady bushings too).

      Thanks Nick. It was great to see Elvis back making videos. He has really moved the ball for casters and reloaders. I have a couple more in the works. Nothing earth shattering.

      Its not bad if you have a press that can use the breech lock system. It would be worth going with this if you need several sizing dies, then this would make sense.

    Just ordered mine yesterday, will see how they compare to traditional ones. As it happens I do my sizing on cheapy Lee press that has breech lock. I don't understand why they don't have 458 SOCOM bushing, the closest they had was .457 that I need to open up to .459. Also another thing I noticed they started selling is a pass through shell holders, I am guessing for new upcoming press, but makes me wonder how the shells are going to center on it without backstop portion.

    • @TreeTopFlier
      @TreeTopFlier  4 роки тому

      They dont because its LEE. They are innovative in many ways but they also cut themselves off from outside influence and prefer to operate in a bubble. They are frustrating that way. As for the shell not having a back stop, I dont know. The trend is toward letting the case find an axial center between two squared forces. AKA forester Co-Ax I have experimented with this and found better concentricity from dies that are allowed to move a little self center. Oh and Lee doesnt offer any casting or sizing for 6.5 mm either.

    Looks like they are offering a breech lock adapter for the Hornady, RCBS and other Lee presses with 1 1-4” or 1 1/2”

      Really, you just going to jump into my next video like that. LOL I shot it but I am giving Lee time to resolve some issues first. I wouldnt buy one yet, there seems to be a problem with thread pitch.

    I hate the new "Breech Lock" system, because it is a complicated, unneeded problem in search of a solution that never needed to be.

    • @TreeTopFlier
      @TreeTopFlier  3 роки тому

      If youre talking about breach lock with the new sizer bushings? They made these for the new Ammo plant configuration which was released after I made this video. Both versions of sizers are fine. I think its nice to be able to just buy a bushing to change diameters so I kinda like this approach.

      @@TreeTopFlier Well that is fine, but I prefer the old style sizing die that was easy and fast
