It’s strange, several women in Britain have been murdered by their stalkers, reported the stalking to the police over and over and the police did nothing. Was this because it was high profile, why do celebrities get far better protection etc than the normal people suffering this offence 🤷‍♀️

I read a story in my local newspaper about a stalker that smashed his way into the victims house, threatened her with a blood stained hammer and threatened to petrol bomb her house, when she was inside, he got three months suspended sentence, Alex Belfield' s sentence was political, I'm not saying that he shouldn't have been punished, but 5 and a half years was excessive, especially as it was consecutively rather than concurrent.

and they strand bit, the way he talked and the strange way he jumped subject to subject, until you relies court guidance document they must use in stoking cases even throw the judge said this was not conventual stroking, (the was strange from the start) but okay), back Jeremy vines evedence (from the future?,) he gave statement to everyone one of the requirement for all levels of stroking, bearing in mine alex had never as much only ever sent email, as follow up's BBC freedom of information requested, named in requests but the bbc where no where be seen, apart from almost every one work for the bbc, expect one who work for one of witnesses who worked at the bbc,?
and how mental state, like all the witnesses, there was that many mental state problem, I thing medical treatment needed for all the witnesses, they all where acting (in the stage meaning of the word), that much how they recovered so much they all most from end jailing, have almost never stopped tweeting doing UA-cam video,

I was just a local lad, but fairly street wise. I kept my head down, no issues in Armley. It was a horrible experience though, one of the longest, most miserable weeks of my life. Hi Dr. Das I was really pleasantly surprised last night and just on UA-cam when I stumbled upon You speaking with Dr. Drew. I found both of You discussing a range of subjects absolutely fascinating . Growing up I lived in England so I did have some knowledge of the differences between the States and England. I was born in Manhattan but also lived in Bermuda before returning to Canada. Yes it was on Shauns Podcast that I first learned about the work that You do. You are excellent on Your Podcast explaining Disorders and how they can relate to violent offenders. I also enjoy that You are hip with many High Profile Cases in the States. America has an beyond outrages problem as You know with Guns however one can never tell them this or You will be attacked on Social Media with People going ballistic about their right to bear arms. Where as England the Coppers never carried Firearms and relied on the Baton and Shields to handle confrontation. Now because Canada is so closely alligned with the US it does affect many issues here. One being a rise in violent crime and a lot of illegal Firearms in the hands now of children as young as 13 to 16. This decrease and a rapid one of children garrying Guns has Law Enforcement rightly extremely concerned. My apology for writing a speech here Dr. Das. Dr. Drew is indeed a lovely man and like yourself dedicated and passionate about helping patients. I did sense during the Podcast that I would definitely say He is very concerned about the violence and other issues at play that are plaguing the entire country. Many thanks for tolerating this very long comment that has nothing to do with Your Podcast. Cheers.

I'm afraid I think Alex Belfield is a bit of a nob - but I feel his sentence was absolutely ridiculous - we're talking about hurt feelings here and someone being repeatedly rude.....for sure it's not very pleasant but a prison sentence is crazy and simply not proportionate - and I'm judging this within the context of my own experience as a current sufferer of 'perilous' (as my psychiatrist described it) PTSD so I'm mentally very fragile - I was also recently a victim of hate speech (from a hospital receptionist of all people)....the last organisation I wanted to talk to were the police - the health provider dealt with the issue very well....so Alex is rude and offensive to some but a criminal requiring a custodial sentence he is not....

I've had a few mates get sentences for some fairly low level offending and they did ok. I also know someone who has done just under 28 years over various sentences and he is doing okish on the out but it took many years to adapt to living outside. Then again i think the uk has got it wrong when it comes to prison. Norway seem to have a better way of doing things.

Like many people who work in prisons, including prison officers, you think you understand what prisoners go through and how they will react to others and situations - you don't. Only those who have spent time 'behind the door' really do. Alex Belfield will be ok, even admired. He will be seen as someone who has kicked back against establishment types and been unjustly punished for it. Yes, sex offenders are despised and are certainly at the bottom of the pecking order. Even the lowest of the low need someone to feel superior to! But, apart from that, if there is a common thread running through the minds of most prisoners it is a strong resentment, even hatred, for authority - especially unjustly and unfairly exercised authority. Alex Belfield will benefit from that.

Instead of responding to Belfield's request for clarity, Hewis ignored Belfield - alas, no law against ignorant and wilful rudeness. Hence, the obviously unwelcome emails to BK and Hewis became profoundly persistent. Had there been no big attachment to the BBC, and had Vine been the man in the street and not a BBC protected entity, this situation is similar to many that occur in everyday life with ongoing feuds and disputes. The sentence AB has received is ridiculous. His legion of haters and critics, similarly greater in number than his actual honest followers, hasn't all realised yet that although 'free speech is not stalking', nor was this. @@noelward8047 I'm not conflicted. I just know that anybody who gave the nurses a voice in them times deserves some credit. But after looking into it there is an obvious reason he got 5 1/2 years. Here is a link from a guy he used to work with in Alex's younger days ua-cam.com/video/jN--LzAEMyk/v-deo.html

      Did you ? Really ?
Have you seen a video of Alex talking a person into opening their backdoor ?
Live, on air. I suspect not.
This new trend, trawling back though social meadia should worry you.
Look to Australia ... where a person was sacked ... for something someone else said !
Are the reasons so obvious ?

Belfield is a man that likes to be in control and my perception of him is someone that would seriously struggle to keep his mouth shut and accept a submissive role. Let’s face it, he has a mouth like a workhouse oven in normal circumstances. Prison however, is a completely different environment to normal life and what he is used to dealing with. I don’t like anyone who has conned others out of their hard earned cash but I guess if people are silly enough to fall for the hard luck story then more fool them. He isn’t someone I instinctively like, he’s far too big headed and full of himself as they say. Prison should never be easy I guess, after all, it is a punishment and supposed to make him reflect on the things that got him a custodial sentence in the first place. It does sound like he put some people through a great deal of misery.
