There's no shortage of quality songs in the MLP franchise. Composer Daniel Ingram worked his ass off for 9 solid years and the results bear themselves out. So much so that as much as the songs in this Top 10 video hit... not a single one of them crack my own list of Top 10 songs from the Friendship is Magic / Equestria Girls era.
So you've still got plenty of greatness to look forward to and enjoy going forward.

Pinkie’s lament is season 4 episode 12 a well known party planner named Cheesesandwich ( voiced by WEIRD AL!) comes to ponyville for rainbow dash’s birthday.
Ingram's a musical genius. I'm fond of saying (only partially jokingly) that he's made me cry more than every girl I've ever dated combined.
Yeah, while watching this I noticed they're all of the classics, but the *really* good ones are very different to the ones that give people nostalgia.
I'd recommend the villain songs. "Better way to be bad" comes to mind but I'm sure there are better ones.
Friend that you need, Time to be awesome & especially Open up your Eyes are all important to watch if we're counting the movie's songs.
The marks on their flanks are called Cutie Marks. Each individual pony magically gets one when they discover their own individual talent and purpose. It usually appears when they are young and is considered a major milestone for each pony.
Also, the dark blue alicorn is Princess Luna, her older sister, Princess Celestia, is the tall white alicorn, and the pink Alicorn is Princess Cadence. Luna is the Princess of the night and the moon, Celestia is Princess of the day and sun, cadence is the Princess of love. Twilight is the Purple unicorn/alicorn who has the dragon on her back in the #9 song. Only Alicorns are considered royalty so they are the ones with the crowns.

Also they don't inherently mean anything, it's up to the ponies to determine what they mean for their talent or purpose, which is how you get teacher ponies with flower cutie marks.

You are the perfect type of person to watch this show! I love that you get really enthusiastic about the messages and you just take the show for what it is, instead of trying to say how girly it is or isn’t without giving it a shot. Emotions are important and we need to let ourselves feel them; this show does that so well. I teared up listening to a lot of these songs because of their emotional significance to the characters and the story, and how it can translate to real life! Feeling doesn’t make you weak.

Most of the ponies having different voice actors for the voice itself and then the singing! I find it quite impressive they make it sound exactly the same. Loved this reaction can't wait for more!!

Rarity/Luna VA is Tabith St. Germain and they use Kazumi Evans(Adagio Dazling VA) for her singing voice.
Pinky uses Shannon Chan-Kent for her songs, which is weird because Andrea Libman sings as Fluttershy and voices both in show.
Twilight uses Rebecca Soichet(Sunset Shimmer's VA) for her singing voice.
Rainbow Dash and Applejack's normal VA also sings for each character.
wow I was surprised the video didn't include Smile, Hearts Strong as Horses, The Magic Inside, or even This Day Aria.. those are like the biggest ones anyone even outside the series would know about. These 10 were all still great, but I think a lot of them were very "same-y" and didn't really showcase the wide variety of compositions that exist in mlp besides the one pop song and the scrooge song they included. Glad you enjoyed these! I hope you get to react to the really powerful songs soon too

The marks on their flanks are called Cutie Marks. EveryPony (that’s what they say get used to it) has their own unique one. They represent several things. Sort of a personal identifier as both a personality and their passion. What they are good at and love. Sometimes called their Destiny. A pony gets theirs when they figure out their personal talent and what they are meant to be doing with their lives.
Some might say you are pre-destined, but think of it more as a journey of self discovery.

And if you pay attention to Cadance closely, you can see her wings actually have gradient color of pink and purple, while the other princesses doesn't.
And the purple unicorn with purple and turquoise hair was Starlight Glimmer.

the reason why cadence has purple wings is because she was originally a pegasus before becoming an alicorn , during her process of gaining alicorn magic her wings had to grow new feathers. the same with cozyglow

What I love about Pinkie's Lament is, halfway through the song she reminds herself of the impact she's had on everyone there and gets back out there, she cheers herself back up instead of being a downer and it fits perfectly
Flawless, This Day Aria, The Magic Inside, Smile, A Kirin Tale, just to name a few that weren't on this list, but are absolutely amazing. Daniel Ingram, as alot of people have probably already said, was a GOAT when it came to the songs in this show. More often than not, you'd get something amazing and memorable whenever they'd start singing.

It’s always nice to see someone just discovering the MLP fandom appreciating the music, and even more so being curious about the characters and stories involved. I’m sure other people have said this in the comments here, but so many of these songs make more sense and have a greater impact in context. In some cases, I think you might find that the songs are more meaningful when you know the stories that surround them. And then there are some that you grasped the intention of, even without knowing what they were meant to convey. I won’t give any spoilers here, but the way you feel about #6 is not at all out of place, given the narrative of the episode. As others have said, this is an interesting list. There are definitely songs that I think should be here that aren’t, but this is a list of someone’s personal favorites, and I’m not going to argue with that. And I also don’t think I could narrow the top songs down to 10 myself.

If you want to check out fan content as well, I highly recommend "Lullaby for a Princess" and "The Moon Rises", two amazing songs with very nice animations. They also tell a great story, which is more or less canon to the show proper, so bonus points for that!

Interesting "Top Ten" list, and while they are all great songs, missing a lot of other awesome ones as well. Though that just shows how many amazing songs there are in this show. Composer Daniel Ingram was a beast who did all the songs for the show and covered pretty much every style or genre you can imagine at some point.The Smile Song, A Kirin's Tale, Luna's Future, Flawless, all epic tier songs, then you have the Equestria Girls stuff that is it's own pile of awesome. Then of course, this is just the tip of the iceburg as you also have an entire massive library of utterly amazing fan content, the two MUST WATCH best of the best that you will get a LOT of requests for above all else being Lullaby for a Princess and The Moon Rises
So for comments, yes Autumn is best season, and you are already proving yourself a man of refined taste, as the "Midnight pony" you instantly took a liking to is Princess Luna, AKA Best Princess! Easily the most popular character in the show among the Brony fanbase (only main character Twilight Sparkle comes close) . Also, seeing all the new reaction to songs one things I've noticed as a trend is the thing people tend to call out the most as really winning them over, is both the overall upbeat, positive message so many of the songs have (Which fits the show perfectly, and just gets better when you have full context for the songs) but also that the songs are at their best when multiple character start to harmonize, which is also just, such a wonderful thematic connection to the show as well.
Always great to see new people checking out this amazing show! Hope you are in for the amazing ride on this wonderful, heartwarming train ride!

Here's a song for you: Unleash the magic. It's one of the most melodically complex songs in all of Pony, and really sets up how awesome these can be. Check fan songs too, please! "Lullaby for a Princess" and it's sister song "The Moon Rises" are the recommended video/song combos for those getting into the series. They'll give you a better overview of a certain event covered in the first minute of MLP's episodes without spoiling anything. They're also some of the best projects in the fandom, with Lullaby being almost entirely done by one person, and Moon Rises being a small group.
So, Cutie Marks (butt tattoos) are like magic boosters. If you're good at something then it's your mark, and that mark makes you better at whatever that is.

Here’s small explanations for you:
1. Those marks that you call are cutie marks, they represent that pony’s talent, hobby or destiny.
2. Earth ponies - they don’t have wings or horns.
3. Pegasi - they are pegasi who have wings. Most of them kinda are responsible for the weather.
4. Unicorns - They have horns. Not every unicorn is powerful with their magic.
5. Alicorns - they are ponies who have wings and horn. Alicorns are royalty, that’s why they have crowns.

The song about getting rid of the holiday was from an episode that was essentially a rewrite of A Christmas Carol, and her character was analogous to Ebenezer Scrooge. She felt that the holiday was a waste of good work time, and tried to use magic to erase it.
If wondering about the ponies of the world of My Little Pony, then allow me to elaborate without much spoilers.
Earth Ponies: Normal ponies that are known for being grounded with nature, strength, and are said to have their own magic connected with nature.
Pegasus: Winged ponies that can manipulate and control the weather and are know for their marvellous flying skills.
Unicorns: As you may have know, they are known for their mastery in magic with their horns.
Alicorns: A pony that is a combination of all 3 ponies. Unicorn horn for magic, wings and flight of the Pegasus, and the strength and nurturing of nature of earth ponies. These kind of ponies are of the higher status to the other ponies and are commonly related to royalty.

The song for number 8 is about the purple pony Twilight becoming a princess but she doesnt know what to do as a princess. The midnight pony in that song is Princess Luna and she controls the moon. The white pony thats bigger then the rest is Princess Celestia, she controls the sun and shes Luna's older sister. The pink one is Princess Cadence, she rules over the Crystal Empire and she married Twilights brother. All four of them are an Alicorn because they are princesses.
The main ponies are Rainbow Dash (Rainbow hair), Rarity (Purple hair, white body), Pinkie Pie (The completely pink one), Flutter Shy (Long pink hair), Apple Jack (The country one), and Twilight. They also have a friend named Spike, hes a baby dragon. All ponies have a Cutie Mark which is what you see on their back. The marks represent their special talent and is a representation of who they are. The easiest example is Luna having a moon and Celestia having a sun.
In song 10 the necklaces are called the elements of harmony. theres Loyalty (Rainbow), Generosity (Rarity), Honesty (Apple), Laughter (Pinkie), Kindness (Flutter), and Magic (Twilight). Their cutie marks were switched in that song and putting the elements back on helped them remember who they really are.

The songs, animation, and story/lore improve as the show continues on from Season 1, so I hope to see more from you as you continue to listen and watch My Little Pony; it may be branded as a 'girly' show made for a young audience, but honestly, it's a very wholesome and comedic series that helps remind any teen or adult the life lessons and impact that friendship can have in one's life.

To answer (some of) your question(s): The butt tattoos are this series Carebear belly marks, that symbolize the pony's talent. Rainbowdash, the rainbow haired pony, for example has a rainbow lightning bolt, and she goes, *very* fast, and helps make the weather, among other things. The necklaces the main ponies got are the "Carebear stare" items that heal the villains with rainbow lasers of friendship. That 1st song was a who plot point, that you will have to watch to understand. "Midnight" pony is named Luna, her older sister is Celestria. They control the moon and sun respectfully. There are only a few princesses, that rule over the rest of the pony population, protect them, and keep the harmony, they also pact some serious magic. Pony wanted to get rid of "Christmas" bc a mean strict teacher convinced her it was a waste of time when she was little and she internalized it.....then decided to make everyone more affective citizens by not having anyone waste their time with frivolous things. Unsurprisingly, it is not a good idea. Like snow-magendon bad.

The Magic Inside and Flawless are by far the BEST MLP songs, with “How the Magic of Friendship Grows” being the most emotional.

One thing I'll say is a lot of these songs hit a lot harder when you have some more context about what's happening. Beyond that there's a ton of interesting stuff happening with the music. Some examples, first song, each time a new character is singing they add a new instrument to the line. It's a little different each time. The music has a lot of underlying complexities that are part of what makes it so catchy. Nothing in this series was half-assed.

I hope you get to start reacting to the episodes; Im telling you, if you like the music, then you're gonna seriously love how well written the show, lore, world, and characters are. Also, that "Midnight Pony" you really liked, her name is "Princess Luna"; She is the goddess deity of the Moon, and might i add, she is one of my personal favorite characters. I wont spoil too much more about her, but lets just say that she has a very satisfying character arc throughout the shows seasons.

I've been a fan of My Little Pony for about 10 years now. Roughly a third of my life. And these songs are all incredible. Daniel Ingham composed the music for My Little Pony FiM, and when he has a chance for harmonies, he goes HARD.
When you said the "Dark Blue looking one is best looking one" You're with about 60% of the fandom there. That's Princess Luna. She, and Princess Celestia (The large white one) are sisters, and were the original rulers of Equestria.

TLDR on that first song. Twilight sparkle cast and unfinished spell and F’ed up everyone’s destiny, the “true true friend” song was the montage of her fixing her mistake and setting everyone’s destiny back on track
#3 is one of the best episodes, exploring loss of a loved one, death, and stages of grief.
Do "Lullaby for a princess!" Then do "The Moon Rises"! You will not regret it, get the midnight pony lore.

There are four princesses. When the show starts there're technically three, the white one, Celestia, the blue one, Luna, and the pink one, Mi Amore Cadenza (she prefers Cadence). They're called alicorns, and they have the abilities of all three other kinds of ponies. Twilight becomes an alicorn and a princess in the Season 3 finale, which is the episode 'A True, True Friend' is from. A fifth alicorn debuts in the Season 6 Premiere, but she's too young to be a princess, so while all princesses are alicorns, not all alicorns are princesses. The four who are princesses are such partially because they weren't born alicorns, but instead ascended after performing some act that benefited the realm at large.

to answer your questions, the rainbow one is called rainbow dash and she is definitely my favourite, the midnight one is called princess luna and the glamorous looking ponies are in fact princesses who have both a horn and wings (making them an alicorn) and the marks are their cutie marks which basically represent who they are and what they do (ie pinkie pie has balloons because she loves parties) hope this helps!
The crowns are royalty status. So the 4 that had them were the royalty for their lands

One silly thing about some MLP songs is that they're meant to be 'bad' in some way, e.g. villain songs that are meant to be disturbing, and compete against a protagonist song that's meant to sound wholesome and positive, or one CMC song where the backstory was that they picked a pony who was bad at writing lyrics to write the lyrics and so on.
The Razzle Dazzle song was one of those that was meant to be intentionally trumped by a later song.
I imagine the task of writing a song that's intentionally worse than other songs is quite tricky.
Dont know if anyone answered but the "mark" theyre getting in the first song are necklaces. Theyre called "elements of harmony" and theyre like special crystals that are connected to the ponies. The song is from an episode where the marks got switched and its about getting them back to the correct ponies so thats why they put them on the correct pony after helping them.
Midnight pony is named Luna and the marks are called cutie marks. A cutie mark ties into the destiny of each pony and they earn these marks once they find out what they are suppose to do with their life.

Hearth's Warming is the Pony equivalent of Christmas, but that's not all it is to them. It's also simultaneously a celebration of the discovery of their land and subsequent founding of their country, while also being like a massive ritual. The idea is to generate massive amounts of positivity and foster a sense of community in order to keep at bay malevolent air elementals who feed on misery and strife, slowly turning their surroundings into an arctic wasteland as they grow in power. These spirits are called windigos, and mind you that's not the same name as the Native American legend that basically refers to cannibals, those are _wendigos._ Anyway, near the end of the song 'Say Goodbye to the Holiday', those spectral forms made of smoke that came out of the cauldron took the form of windigos. I think they were supposed to be a warning toward anyone attempting to cast the spell she wanted to cast, because to erase all memory of Hearth's Warming would also be erasing all existing memory of the windigos, and the very real threat they represent. Unfortunately, Scrooge Pony believes they're just a fairy tale because that's what Professor Snape, oh sorry, _Professor Flintheart_ told her when she was a schoolfilly.
the “midnight” pony you mention is princess luna , the embodiment/reincarnation of moonlight. she raises the moon and rules over the dream world. there are only 5 princesses which who rule over something important.

In case no one's told you yet those marks they have are what's known as a cutie mark. Every pony in equestria has one that defines what there special talent is, for example pinkie pie's special talent is making every pony in ponyville smile, and works at the bakery called sugar cube corner owned by mister and misses cake.
Also that midnight pony you were referring to that's princess Luna, her sister was that white pony with the majestic hair her name is princess celestia. They are the rulers of the land of equestria Celestia being the princess of the day, Luna princess of the night

Fun fact: Applejack and Rainbow Dash (the blue pegasus) are voiced by the same person, who also does their singing. Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy (The yellow Pegasus) are also voiced by the same character, who also provides Fluttershy's singing voice. The voice of Twilight Sparkle (The purple unicorn) is Tara Strong, who you might know better as either Timmy Turner or Harley Quinn, and Rarity (The white unicorn) is voiced by Tabitha St Germaine, who also provides the voice for Princess Luna.
Some of the fan parodies are great too. "Winter's * Up" (NSFW. MANY F bombs) or "The Cost of The Crown." A number of Weird Al songs have fan made video versions.
The episode that houses number 7 is called "Pinkie Pride" and honestly might be a great first episode for you to watch. It's a musical style episode where Pinkie Pie, the town's "party pony" finds a new rival in Cheese Sandwich (voiced by WEIRD AL). Would LOVE to see you react to that episode!
